- This week's Aftermarket part in Modern Warfare III is the JAK Gunslinger Kit for the Basilisk pistols and today, I wanted to break down all of the stats and then share a couple of my favorite setups to use with this new kit. What are your thoughts on the JAK Gunslinger Kit in MWIII?

Legit next cod needs to instead of giving trigger delay should just make it so you cock the hammer back when you first draw the gun.
vanguard let you do that, it could also just be a trigger that removes the delay at the cost slow draw and holster like the P890 does

It’s def not the best kit but it’s def fun. It basically converts the gun into the Bloodhound from Shadows of Evil

Actually fell in love with the basilisk again maybe a couple seasons ago. I like to go all or nothing with the ftac arrow barrel and highgrain rounds for maximum range and minimum forgiveness.
The combined high mobility and lethality can really give the quickscoping sniper/marksman rifles a run for their money.
Not having to deal with the huge prefire delay on the tyr is preferable imo.

If you look closely, there is an animation bug, where in akimbo when you reload the bullets for your right pistol appear floating in the air outside the gun, then drift back into the gun. Overall, fun to use, but I’ve had far better luck with single than akimbo. Also, I have the feeling this was supposed to be an homage to the M1 Irons revolver from Advanced Warfare. I had a lot of fun with that gun, as it was good in both single and akimbo.

I feel like Horizontal Spread on the single is what hurts this gun the most since it's tricky to reduce it enough.
only reason i opened this video was to see if they actually changed the model to show 8 shots in the cylinder, and they did, im impressed
Heh, a 3D printed revolver cylinder seems like a bad idea. Running around like a cowboy with akimbo pistols is still fun, though.
Was thinking the same thing. I don't understand why they insist on making all the "aftermarket parts" 3D printed textures. Looks goofy too.
@@andreivaldez2929 Yeah, gives the parts a bit of a neat "DIY" vibe, and personally I appreciate the subsurface scattering light effect given off by the printed parts, but not every part needs that touch. Or at least give it a gritty 3D printed metal finish like some manufacturers are doing with suppressors. That would've made more sense in the case of the Gunslinger especially.

I'm applying the concept to the real world, and the thought of it exploding after one or two shots strikes me as funny. In-game, the cylinder could be made of bacon for all I truly care.

A perfect kit that suits your Red Dead Redemption build. Lockwood mk2, Lockwood mk2 shotgun conversion, Basilisk, Tyr...Now all we need is a plan and some faith!
I'd say the better build is:
1: Jak Gunslinger Conversion Kit
2: Bryson WD-85 Grip
3: Corvus LZR-790 Laser
4: FTAC Carvivora 7" Barrel
5: RVS607 Comepensator Muzzle
It brings the recoil down significantly while still giving you decent medium range potential, and an optic on a pistol isnt really needed and wastes a precious slot, though if you absolutely cannot hit your shots without an optic you can just swap out the laser for an optic since the Corvus just greatly increases ADS Speed and Aiming Stability.
I Have No Idea What I’m Doing is such a classic challenge and the reason I very often run scopes on akimbo weapons
I appreciate what you do for the cod community; for your question about Xbox connection other day, it’s been smooth. I also wanted to add that in hardcore , this pistol is awesome with a long range scope as a pocket sniper. This new kit would enhance that strategy.
Best in slot secondary imo, getting core 45 lightning trigger levels of ttk but the recoil feels nicer, the gun looks cooler and most importantly my fingers don't hurt
This is a weird one for me, on the one hand, I feel it could be powerful because the way I have it kitted, is for as much recoil control as possible when ADS, I don't get as much recoil so I can reliably hit upper-torso to headshot zones, but on the other hand, the constant reloading will get me killed more often than not, especially if I want to attempt to run this as a primary (usually in small map playlist). Overall, it's not the greatest kit, but it is usable and can be fun.
Regular basilisk with a sniper scope has been my sidearm for the last 2 years now
I really like this kit. I hated using the Basilisk only because of the prefire delay and the terrible fire rate. This kit rectifies those issues very nicely.
Since the SPAS-12 can switch between pump action and semi-auto, it would be cool if the revolvers can switch between being single action and double action.
Single action would nearly eliminate the hammer delay and make 1 shot kills more consistent at the cost of having the cock the hammer before firing every shot, slowing the fire rate down.
For akimbo build, I would use the FTAC Fang Ported Barrel with the RVS607 Compensator Muzzle and not use the Corio RV500 Optic
If you reload the gun whilst aiming down sights the shells float in the air.
For a vid idea, you think you could do a top 5 best weapons for close mid and far ranges? Excluding melee, launchers, and snipers? (The ones that kill in 1 shot) It'd be nice to see ttk, handling, recoil, and ranges compared at the 3 cutoff points. Like is the Lockwood 680 the best up close gun or are the akimbo renettis? Or the fjx horus? Or superi? Just food for thought

Hi Ace, I know this is a lil off topic, but I think you need to re-check your anti-killstreak class. I don‘t know whether there was a hidden nerf for incendiary rounds or similar, but it takes now appr. a full magazine to get down a VTOL with the Bruen MK9 (+incendiary rounds)

I actually didn't know you could shoot the guns paired instead of individually while using akimbo, until earlier this year. Any reason you don't change that setting, other than feel?
It does have a small downside, where spread widens a bit more after every paired shot. You stay a little more accurate shooting one gun at a time even if the timing to shoot them both is slightly off, while shooting individually.
Honestly this is a gun I'd use regardless if it's good or not. I love gunslingin' styles and mowing someone down cowboy-style seems like a lot of fun.
Also no fire delay. I can't stand weapons with fire delay in CoD.
For revolvers I don’t really like the double action pull tbh because yes it’s heavier and longer (maybe the PlayStation controller could do something with that?)

The open bolt delay on open bolt guns at least makes sense although most guns with the open bolt delay are pretty garbage even without the delay. I think they should buff all guns with the delay and probably cut it down slightly, but also remove it from revolvers
I do like this kit on the Basilisk over the stock weapon.
at least it's something to bring into hardcore, softcore i'm keeping the .500sw, if even use the basilisk
Any information on the nearly unplayable gamestate that some players are having? These Activision-side stuttering issues have made me unable to play for about two weeks

I would love to play but the packet bursting issue is insane. I can play through half a match and then it's just massive stutters every 5 seconds.
also for the Warzone players, its an absurdly fast ttk, but really only good for one kill before reloading
The M1 Irons is back
Blops2 was the only game with a solid cowboy gun, and that was exclusive to the Buried zombies map
It's fun as hell
for the akimbo, if i remember correctly "Cronen Intlas MSP 12" optic actually increases your hipfire accuracy
The snub nose basilisk is really good
If i was still playing, i think this would be a trusty sidearm to use next to my maglift haymaker. Rootin tootin and spammy shootin, yee haw.
Im practice wouldn't the akimbo make the kit better as it does decrease the damage but its less then half and your firing 2 bullets at once on average so its not too bad
It seems to function like the .44 Magnum from MW2 (2009) with the pre-fire delay being imperceptible or gone. It's fun but I don't like the inconsistency across the body, IMO it should be a two shot kill to the upper torso up to ~20m currently its range is awful , and so I don't see myself using it often.

I wish they'd give the revolvers a single action, firing mode where you cock the hammer between shots and makes there be [almost] zero pre-fire delay.
Why do I want to run a double hand gun build in hardcore. Primary is the basilisk with the kit and a long range scope and then the cor 45 as a secondary. Both one shot but one for close and one for far.
i kinda like it. it's a bit of fun
I def think running the pistol on its own is fun in its own right, and you can reasonably compete with others.

How do you calculate the fire rate with the delay included? Do you have a formula you could share? If so, it would be much appreciated so I could do my own testing.
I measure the total time to fire all rounds with frame by frame recordings and then extrapolate from there

If you recorded your game footage with 120fps, you can count the frames and calculate an average. This average is your fire rate.
When it comes to the delay, I'd guess Ace is either looking at the delta in the fire rate or he is also checking for a small animation.

I know the base gun is 2 shots to kill with full armor in Warzone

In mw3, the Mw2 pistols when you have akimbo nukes the damage no matter what :/ it’s awful only the daemon iirc had that fixed not too long ago

I unlocked it. It is not good. Sadly. I was hopeful for the akimbo version, as there aren’t many usable hipfire weapons in the game, but this is not one of them. Perhaps with more attachment choices it could compete with some of the other 2-shot pistols.
not the most appropriate place to put this, but i have not been able to experience any of the content since season 3 reload because all of my custom load outs default to the bas-b. i have yet to find a fix but if someone else knows how to deal with it, i would appreciate being able to experience the content of my $70 game

Gun is ace, packets loss ect not soo. Top one lobby with it, next lobby think i came dead last on board with 4 kills

It’s a shame how weak all of the aftermarket parts have been this season besides the akimbo Models which they nerfed into a boring state
Akimbo broken on all mw2 pistols….reduced damage on all of them…
You skipped over the 2 shot potential at longer ranges by mixing a head shot the multiplier gives 100 damage to the head
At long ranges with the kit, you deal 80 damage to the head and 60 to the upper torso so no 2 shot potential unless both shots hit the head
