This explains why it felt so bad compared to the other shotguns, which already feel terrible compared to last year. That extra 50 health with no other changes seems to have ruined more than a few weapons, including the crossbow.
I still main crossbow. It's definitely worse than it was in mw2. But slosive bolts are still always a one-shot, regular bolts can still one-shot to the upper chest. Thermite bolts have become useless though. Fart bolts were always useless lol
@@ignasias I never mained it, but it was fun to grind out and go back to every so often. Now, it would be a complete slog, especially with how many people are running EOD.

Being able to use this thing in MWIII and then going straight to the MW2 2009 SPAS-12 just puts you on perspective on how trash this game balancing is.
They seem to love one shot snipers but lord forgive SH if they make a shotgun good

They’re trying so hard to please the community, but mostly everyone in the community complains about shotguns being OP. In the one place they’re supposed to excel at, they suck. Instead of blaming shotguns being for being OP, they should blame themselves for being braindead and having bad positioning.
2 notes about this shotgun. First, for some reason they decided to completely break the Crown Breaker Choke which was the go-to choice for hip fire as it was way better at that than the other chokes. Now it's so bad that it has worse hip fire than the Bryson Choke and without the added ADS spread buff you get with the Bryson and Bryson Improved Chokes. This applies across all shotguns and effectively nerfed all of them quite a bit. Second, I've tested all configurations of this shotgun and found that the damage in pump-action is actually different depending on if you ADS or not. Fully set up for range and hip fire spread, it would 1-shot ADS kill up to about 18m. But when hip firing, I could not find a consistent 1-shot range at all. Even at under 5m with all pellets hitting the target, it would only sometimes 1-shot, even in tac-stance. So similar to the MW2 guns switched to semi-auto mode, this gun has 2 different damage values in pump-action mode depending if you're ADS or not. Because of these 2 things, I wouldn't waste my time on this gun anymore until they do something to fix it. As trash as the Lockwood 680 is, it's still a better shotgun than this.

Most of the time the shotgun is going to one shot it insane ranges and then other times you're going to get a point blank ADS headshot hit marker

idk whats with cod devs and making the alternate ammo types always significantly worse for shotguns. Also shame to see how bad the semi auto mode is; was hoping we could get a hybrid semi auto/pump action gun, but it seems like there's no reason to use this gun in semi auto mode aside from the funnies.
Making slugs so bad is the thing I don’t get, it should be able to one shot body consistently to at least the same as the default ammos max damage range, imo it wouldn’t be OP because it’s just a watered down sniper

Do you Remember the Brecii from BO3? If a semi-auto Shotgun has a consistent enough 2 Hit kill it can be super strong.
It’s tubler so I would say give it better damage and one tap in semi like the haymaker, it really needs it for semi

The fact is easier to win close to medium gunfights with sniper rifles than literal shotguns or SMGS tells you all about this games weapon balancing.
150hp shouldn't be a thing. I recommend trying 100hp on private matches.
I unlocked the spas yesterday and it’s been VERY inconsistent. Even at point blank I’m getting hit markers. Trash shotgun only got added as “fan service” 😂. No matter how many shotguns get added, Lockwood 680 will always be king.
I've been getting some ridiculous long shots, so idk.
Im just glad we actually got another "Modern" Warfare weapon instead of another AW gun

I was getting some bad results in the range for the alt fire. It was allowing me to get one-shots that weren't possible in a match, no matter how tight the spread could get.
In the slower fire mode, I have been able to get some ridiculous ranged one-shots.
Yeah, I got excited doing some testing in the Firing Range but something is definitely messed up there like stacking hitboxes or something.
its probably a lot easier to hit targets in the firing range than in real matches, so the consistent one shots make a lot more sense
@@TheXclusiveAceI feel like it's bugged somehow. It's so inconsistent in pump mode and useless in semi. Even with 10 pellets I don't feel a difference in how it performs. Just weird all around and disappointing as a shotgun user
The gun has upper body damage multipliers, so you need to aim for the chest for consistency. It has the downsides of using a slug but with the spread of a normal shotgun.

It's not a bad shotgun, but it's definitely inconsistent at close range. You will one-shot people, but then at another close range, you have to shoot 2 or 3 times to kill... at the same range.

@smallvillefever6258 it's a good shotgun but a coin flip if it wants to one-shot makes it bad imo. (I dropped 54 kills with it last night) but then there are games where the Lockwood is better.
@shadowtitan8545 How I base a terrible weapon is when it's constantly shitty at damage wise and does nothing but actually get you killed most of the time. This shotty is just inconsistent and not terrible cause one minute it does one shot, and the next, it doesn't. If that gets fixed then we have a great shotgun. But I respect your opinion as well, this is just my opinion
Part of the issue with it feeling inconsistent is, if you look at the advanced stats, it deals 88 damage to the head and upper chest, but 44 to the lower torso and legs. So to get those consistent 1 shot kills, you need to aim for their upper chest. I will admit I have gone on some nasty tears with this gun, but it is so inconsistent that I can also get tons of hit markers even against players that are already hurt. While the range can be nasty, semi auto is not great and pump is only good if you ads and are aiming high. Honestly I would be willing to lose some range for more consistency, because other than novelty, I feel the Lockwood 680 is still better overall. And don’t get me started on the utter state of MWII shotguns…
i haven't brought this game yet but i also remember the cold war shotguns having a delay between hipfire and ads to avoid people from quicksoping with the pump shotguns. You would have to ads for a few miliseconds before the bullets get tighter. And even xclusive ace in this video tries to quick scope sometimes so maybe that also plays into fact here.

One thing I think you forgot to mention is that you have to hit the upper torso to maximize its one shot kill potential! If you hit the torso past close range it gives a hit marker

I agree with you I was struggling with this shotgun, like you mentioned it is inconsistent especially on pump action. I will give the tac stance a try to see if that helps a bit.

I found that so long as you stick to using it in pump action mode and only, put the long barrel on, the best choke, and use the best ADS speed attachments for the other 3 slots, it's pretty strong and fast.

I’ve noticed with the no stock attachment it feels like jumping is farther and you can change directions in mid air
I haven’t seen a 19m OHK kill with shotgun shells ever since the M30 Drilling

They need to buff the damage of the pellets so the gun could have more *consistency* in its maximum damage ranges. Too many times you’ll get the random hit marker that doesn’t do no damage to your enemy up close and it’ll just get u killed
I love it when theres actual differences between fire modes. I love the FTAC Recon since its so versatile, and no the M4 AMP is not even close to the same thing
I wish they made the ammo types usable, the idea of having specialized shells in your shotgun is super cool, it just sucks that they all cut the guns performance in half

the hipfire spread can be tuned so tightly in the semi auto mode you’re able to 2 shot out to about 20-25m since all the pellets are in such a tight spread
There’s a new underbarrel that improves hip fire and tac stance. I forgot what it’s called, but it’s right before the vertical grips.

Why didn't you talk about the damage multipliers with this gun? If you look at the detailed stats, the upper torso and headshot damage is significantly higher than the rest of the body. If you want to get more consistent one shot kills, aim for upper chest instead of center mass like you would with most other shotguns.

Not going to lie, but dragons breathe in pump mode and feel more consistent in hitting the oneshot afterburn(Initial hit then dying by burning damage).
Making the spread tight for hip and tac-stance definitely helps in close quarters to get the kill. Using semi basically makes it pointless to use as the burn damage will do literally nothing to help you.
Since its a shotgun i just use it for close quarters and it feels more consistent with using the dragons breathe and keeping my spreads tight to ensure i hit my shots and let the DOT do the rest.
I hope they take this on-the-fly change mechanic and apply it to the BAL AMP if it ever gets one, high fire rate (Inferno), slower fire rate then the base (Obsidian Steed)

if any warzone-only players want to unlock this YOU CAN USE THE JAK JAWBREAKER KIT and it will count towards the unlock challenges! It's also a ridiculous loophole to get the KV platinum if you've gotten it gold. I got like 4 longshots in one match of resurgence....

ace, go do a wall test with bolo shells in simi auto it re swaps back to buckshot. its not a stated effect but i noticed it in matches when i shot a wall, in pump it shows 2 impacts (the bolo) in simi-auto it goes back to the pellets

I was hyped for this gun to come out but its super disappointing with how bad it is :/
There are mixed feelings when it comes to the new Reclaimer 18 shotgun. It does have a decent one hit kill range up to 16.5 meters but sometimes at point blank range, it doesn’t perform too well and it’s hit marker after hit marker. In my opinion, it’s just a fan favorite shotgun that people will enjoy every now and then, which will remember from previous CODs.
Fyi Ace, the no stock attachment looks much worse in the firing range than it does in-game (somehow). I still wouldn't use it because it covers a good chunk of your screen, but it's nowhere near as bad as what the firing range shows.
They should up the pellet count to 9 at least if they don’t buff the damage

It’s a sniper shotgun if you use it like that and shoot upper chest it one shots like crazy. Then you hipfire point blank die leave the match and close the game.
Bolo shells in semi auto don't work, it turns into buck in semi, not sure if that's intentional or a bug

Let's just talk about slugs: yes, they technically has worse one shot kill potential then default ammo, but what i noticed, default ammo is very unreliable with one-shot kill.
Slugs are just very consistent, you get one shot kill without any RNG, and then 2 shot kill at any range.

What SHG should just make the Half Life 2 shotgun Twinbarrel aftermarket part called JAK Messa which would allow the operator to switch between Single and Double shot with a flip of the switch
Hello, hardcore mode? I'm seeing this thing dominate in hardcore. What are the stats for hardcore.
It sucked in hard core mode for me until I found someone build for it and it was good. Plus this is a ADS weapon.
I remember when the Center Mass Grip Tape had an absurd sprint to fire reduction to the point where if combined with the right attachments, it has a 1ms sprint to fire time. But SHG fixed this within a few hours after it being out.
I tried bolo shells in the gunsmith, and was able to 2 shot in tac stance 25+ metres away in semi auto. Have they buffed the bolo shells in semi auto or is this a bug? (Edit: training dummies and private bot matches don’t match up…)
Firing Range dummies are super bugged when it comes to Shotguns and they don't reflect performance vs actual players at all.

Why do cod devs hate shotguns? They have no issue with ohk snipers at any range yet fear a shotgun having a constant ohk within shotgun ranges. They really need to buff this gun, let shotguns be good again, and not outclassed by snipers in close quarters.

I feel its inconsistency has to be due to the duel firing modes and the damage values being bugged right? On paper the pump mode should be good but in practice it might as well be 50/50 if you're going to kill an enemy.
They've got to rework the entire semi-auto mode as its practically useless. Same for the different ammo types, all of them suck in general. This gun in just needs a rework or to fix whatever bugs that are messing with its consistency.
I begrudgingly got Interstellar and One Trick for it but it wasn't fun. I'm now dreading the grind for Obsidian :(

they have made a few different spas12s in cod (mw2, blops1, etc) so I dont get the issue.
This is one of the weirdest, most frustrating guns I think I've ever used. It's literally a guessing game if you can get a OSK or just a hitmarker. You can one tap someone 15 meters away, turn a corner and get a hitmarker from point blank range. Never touching this again unless they change/fix it.

In Hardcore this gun is absolutely freakin wild. I get insane one shot kills down the entire lane while hip firing on shipment. Legitimately, it will kill people with one shot, in semi, on the other side of shipmen while hip firing. Absolutely insane. I dropped a 70 kill game on domination and I NEVER do that good.

Yes on hardcore. Play small maps. K/D does well. Lowest k/d for shotgun is 1.5

The 680 is much more consistent but the spas has much better one shot kill potential with a perfect shot.

Finally someone asking good questions! Demolition is has been my fav game mode since OG MW3.
It feels incredibly inconsistent. Sometimes I’ve needed 4 shots to kill at ranges that could easily be 1HK. It’s pretty terrible.

I always hate the fact in CoD series shotguns depends so heavily on the random. That's just frustrating and not fun at all. On high-fire-rate shotguns this isn't a serious problem, but pump-action or just shotguns with slow RoF because of this become a whole dissappointment. Just make for them fixed pellet spread at least when you aim down sight and everything will be fine.
From my experience, this shotgun is best used in tac stance while in pump action, makes it feel pretty decent.

I'd say the crown breaker choke is arguably the better choke. It's almost as good as the Bryson, but has no downsides

I don't suggest the discouraged barrel at all. I tried shooting the closest dummy at the same spot in the training range 10 times each with and without the barrel. I got a 1 shot kill 9 times without the barrel and a 1 shot kill only once with the barrel. I don't know why that's the case but no barrel is far far more consistent
Edit: putting the center mass grip also did the same thing, maybe the gun just automatically gets more inconsistent if you add any attachments at all
The firing range dummies are completely bugged when it comes to shotguns so they can’t be used to determine strength of builds unfortunately. All of my testing is done on actual characters

The Haymaker with Aftermarket kit was one of the few fun guns out there. Until it got nerfed to the ground. Now, no shotgun stand a chance against other weapons.
Anyway I still have an epic Riveter setup that no one talks about, literally 2 shot almost any range, (0)zero!!! spread, yet still not as fun as melt ppl with the Haymaker 😎🤙
This thing is so inconsistent. There are times where it feels nasty as hell, and then times where I basically shot them point blank to the chest in pump action and it gets a hit marker. To me there’s no reason to use it over the Lockwood other than nostalgia

It's a shame they are doing diservice to one of the most iconic shotguns of all time. Jurassic Park, Half-Life, even MW2 (2009) gave this gun a beast of a track record.
Personally I've found this gun is much better when I put a reflex sight on it. The power of the gun comes from high risk high reward at medium range, so attachments that make it easier to use feel like they help more than attachments that strictly improve its stats. Using a barrel is mandatory though.
I think it’s funny that aiming magically reduces the spread.
I'll call it the AN-94 of shotguns. If you're on, it's arguably the best gun. If you're slightly off, it's absolutely terrible.
I find this shotgun to be extremely frustrating there are times where I can get a one shot kill from over 14m and other times I could be very close up to my opponent and it will take three shots to kill them not to mention it's extremely common to get hit markers with this thing in hardcore mode 😑.
