There's something so inexplicably mesmerizing watching a mountain biker building his ride. Another awesome build Scott! Have fun out there and stay safe!
Thank you! 🙏 It’s a hella fun and fast bike!! 🔥
Have you added anything to your bike shop? If so, can you do a tour of the bike shop. Love to see it
Looks amazing
Looks absolutely amazing!
It is and rides incredible!
That bike is beautiful. But man at $10,000, can’t see why Scott feels this is worth way more than a e bike? I have a 2019 Ransom Tuned. This bike is not worth thousands of dollars more than the one I have. The average person is never gonna be able to afford this bike, it’s only the super rich or sponsored athletes get to ride it. I guess that’s good for them.
Stoked you like it and appreciate your comment, that’s not something I have any info on. I guess with the frameset only option you could price a custom build accordingly to whatever budget or go with one of the other models. Stoked you’re liking your current Ransom - they’re rad bikes!!
Love it!❤🔥
Looks sick ❤❤❤❤
I can confirm it rides as good as it looks!
Hello scotty ✋, great work 👍
I'd be open to headset cable routing. Can't deny how clean it looks
It’s unbelievably clean and is easier than everyone thinks to work on!
I love it
Awesome, always getting zen watching you build bikes 😅😊
Thanks mate! 💆
@ Scotty Laughland how tide is the room for the rear shock ? Might it be possible to mount a Float x2 oder DHX2 ?
This is an awesome video, such a a clean bike
Thank you! 🙏 Stoked on the bike!
Nice build 🔥
Stoked your like it! 🙌
What a beauty!
Unbelievable 😍
Love the new look and the shox mounting of the Scott Ransom. I haven’t check the geometry yet, but when will Scott understand that you don’t need the “twin lock” that got divorced. My experience from the Genius ST is that I use it sometimes but almost never. So why don’t remove it and make room for a better dropper post lever.
I expected that the new Ransom would have come with a shox with larger volume. Like the X2 or a coil… The Float X is okey, but it is nothing compared to the X2. With 170 mm of travel it is for sure expected to rip it in ruf terrain.
Hmm I agree and disagree on the Genius I use it all the time - I love that feeling of being on a climb and locking it out getting an extra 1%! It’s certainly useful on the Ransom as it does feel a bigger bike to ride and is really the only option to have a ‘lockout’ as you couldn’t have one with the shock being in the frame!
It does fit the Float X2 or DHX2 and I can certify it absolutely rips even with the Float X Nude. At somepoint I’ll try it with a Float X2 and will report back…
Wow😲
That is a great video very descriptive on the whole process. I just want to see some videos of that baby out on the trail. It's the exact model that I am looking at buying, what a great bike
Ahh man, I’m stoked to hear that! I think Brendan has one out, I’ve one coming Thursday 8th but I can tell you that it rips and is absolutely planted…
@@ScottyLaughland really looking forward to some videos of that 2024 Scott Ransom out on the trail. Particularly interested in what you think of the tracLoc versus the twinLoc. As a dedicated Scott Rider I am accustomed to the twinLoc so a bit concerned how the bike will be without it. Really hope you provide discussion on it
Congratulations Scotty, wishing you millions of superstar kilometers on it and share the joy with us! :- )))
Thank you! More videos coming soon!! 🙏
looks rad, scott.
Thank you! 🙏
Great video Scotty! Stunning bike and lovely choice of components! How does it ride? Can't beat a magic Mary up front! My first time ever trying out Schwalbe, My E bike came with Magic Marys and to be honest I wouldn't have any other brand now. Amazing tyres! All the best from Ireland, Adrian
This is one of the better biike build video's out there. Lovely looking workshop and the bike is pretty tidy as well. But you need to glove up! Nitrile/latex gloves for your own sake at least, when handling the grease or brake fluid 👍
Ahh man, appreciated! I’ll get some gloves on for the next build, thanks for caring!! 🙌
great build up scotty!
is it frame size M in the video or?
Size large!
Stunning looking bike, but DT Swiss 370 hubs?
Thank you mate! It’s just what comes on the Revelstoke 1.0 wheelset!
Is the rear brake line exposed under the bottom bracket? I like that you can still run a cable rear mech but all that effort to hide to shock and then to leave the lines exposed seems shortsighted!
It’s not exposed, it follows the curve of the bottom bracket but is barely exposed. They’re quite hidden and invisible unless you flip the bike upside down due to the shock cover running over them.
It's SO DAMN SEXY! Saw Brendog's video of him riding it and can't wait to see you shred on it as well!!
Oh man it rides as well as it looks! 🙌
What syncros wheels are you using here?
I’ve got the Revelstoke 1.0 on this build!
Cheers
🙏
Yihaaa, let's #MakeMountainsMove!
Oh hell yeh, this machine can’t help itself! 🤝🔥🙌
More proprietary, integrated stuff. Why are certain companies obsessed with the headset cable routing?
Ahh man, it’s not that bad - they’re sticking to their style and going with it! Working on it is surprisingly easy and it looks clean as!!
@@ScottyLaughlandFashion over function! I do agree, it does look clean😎
How do I get the bike!
You’ll have to get in touch with your nearest SCOTT dealer!
They punt and have no access to get one. @@ScottyLaughland
Canyon Torque on cf8 are better...maybe for me...this is my opinion...❤
The Ransom does it for me but it’s all personal preference! Hope you enjoyed the build video!!
looks great apart from the stupid cables in the headset
Ahh they’re not that bad! Looks cool as…
231 bike thieves liked this.
Hopefully not 😤
Headset cable routing.🤮
I mean it wouldn't cost them anything to put the holes in the frame and a couple of plugs for the people who don't want to run cables through the headset.
It’s really not that bad, like anything the first time a bit of a struggle then after that it gets better and easier! I personally love the clean aesthetics of the bike…
@@ScottyLaughland it's definitely tidy looking.
But it's an entry point for water. Water kills bearings. Road bike probably doesn't matter. MTB's generally require a wash after most rides.
And that's not touching on the cable rubbing issues.
I won't even consider a new bike with headset cable routing as my next purchase. However if it had optional ports in the frame it would be definitely back on the list.
Something for the manufacturer to think about really.👍
Sick looking bike though.🔥🔥
The colours are shit..the rest is stunning
If the RC doesn’t get you check the other models! Glad you like the design and aesthetics of the bike…
If the RC doesn’t get you check the other models! Glad you like the design and aesthetics of the bike…
A bike with no real innovation nor benefit. All only for the sake of marketing and brand identity. Integrated stem & handlebar raises the bar for stupidity after headset cable routing. Same for the integrated shock.
I disagree with you on that, it’s completely different to the previous gen Ransom and is far more capable and confidence inspiring. This now sits above the Genius and gives a differentiation in the range - the Spark, Genius and Ransom all have their place and purpose. Aside from anything you can’t fault the aesthetics, it’s a stunning bike!!
@@ScottyLaughland "far more capable and confidence inspiring" - absolutely nothing in the design points to that. Nothing revolutionary in the geo nor kinematics. If someone has the previous Ransom or another already very capable bike, there is absolutely no functional reason to change. That internal shock brings mainly just...limitations🤦♂Headset cable routing is another garbage.
You basically explained nothing. Just repeated some marketing stuff which is used over and over again 🙂
Think il change my current ransom for a privateer, not a fan of the internal shock or it looking like an e bike
I’m sorry to hear that but maybe if you ride the quality of the bike would change your mind! It’s a really solid bike and pedals so well. Understand that people like being able to see the shock however…
@@ScottyLaughland no doubt it’ll be an amazing bike going off how good the current ransom is but I think 5k for base model is very steep too, thanks for the great vid though 🤘🏻
