Like you i had a bad accident Sep of 19, mine was a moto accident street racing an R1 on my RSV4RF shattered my hips, broke my arm was airlifted and put in a coma for a month finally able to walk Jan of this year and now im back to being a terror on the bike and the gym. Like you said its a long slog to recovery and like you im not fully back to running so yea i get it. Keep it up brotha! You are the man!

It’s honestly pretty amazing an engine can produce that much power, and yet still deliver pretty decent fuel economy (if driven very gingerly, I’m sure).
My 2013 4 cylinder Altima has a lifetime average between 24-25mpg, and my wife’s XC60 turbo is averaging right around 23mpg. And it goes without saying, but not even the Volvo is even a fraction as fun as I’m sure this Mercedes can be. Fantastic looks and even better engineering.

All newer Mercedes with MBUX system come standard with the voice control, the $200 extra you are talking about is for a feature where you can wave your hand to turn on the interior lighting and some other similar stuff like that.

Good review. My new E63S sedan is currently sitting at Bremerhaven about to be loaded onto a ship for its trip to the US. We agree on some points (wish for non-black exterior trim, preference for wood interior trim, and not quite seeing the point of CCBs on a street car) and disagree on others (I hate matte paint on cars and very much prefer the now-standard seats). For me, this car will be the new daily driver and my desire was for a luxurious sedan with ridiculous power and sports performance on tap whenever (frequently, of course!) desired. For serious sports car seat time plus the occasional track day, there's Ferrari.
Didn't discovered your channel until last month (because of the RS6 avant). Now it's one of my favorite channels to watch when I have nothing else to do 🤘😁🤘

MBUX interior assist Is the added sensor/camera on top by the SOS button which reads your hand gesture for the infotainment and interior lights.
I want one of these so bad spec’d up just like this. Mercedes-Benz is the only manufacturer that makes matte paint that I like. This blue magno is gorgeous and those wheels are awesome too! Now I just need to win the lottery.

I got the 2020 sedan version. Most amazing car I've ever owned. It dominates my old 07 300C with AWD and I loved that car. I wish it had the MBUX system like that 2021, but that's a minor inconvenience in an otherwise 10/10 car.

Great work as usual. Can't tell you how much I enjoy your videos. I love everything about your format. I would maybe like you to add a bit more detailed interior / tech coverage in your reviews. Regardless. I appreciate what you do and how genuine and passionate you are when doing it. I too could've died in a car accident on Nov 21st 2015. I was driving on the freeway at about 2am and I was hit head on, by a drunk driver DRIVING THE WRONG WAY on the freeway at about 75mph. I obviously sustained multiple injuries. I couldn't walk for about 2 months and was in PT for many months after. I'm better now, but still have issues. I still have 3 titanium screws in my left hand and I have problems with both of my feet. Anyway, all of that was for you to get an understanding and know bmhow much I mean it when I say... I'm so sorry about your accident and what you gone through since that day. It changes you forever. It does definitely put things into perspective though.

LOVE my Randoph Engineering sunglasses. Made the switch when I got into aviation for the no polarization but fell in love with them for the build quality. Have already had them back to the folks in Massechucetts for a tune up and they are better than new.
I’m posting this before I watch the review. I’m trying to decide between the RS6 and E63 Wagon...I wonder what I’ll write after I watch....
...and I want the E63 with the RS6 body and RS6 exhaust note. Easy.
It’s mad in the states all of that is optional extras. Here in the UK they all come as standard. The only optional extras are magno paint and ceramic brakes.
I was even lucky enough with my dealership, that they took the initiative and effort to do things you can’t even get from factory (asked me first of course - and bare in mind I had the night package wagon), replace badges with black versions, fully dechroming because from factory that’s not 100% the case. No charge for any of that by the way. So fully loaded, custom, magno painted E63S wagon £103,469.00 🤷🏻♂️

Thank you for an amazing year of car content, have an amazing break! For me, picking between this and an RS6 Avant would be difficult. The E63s is probably going to be marginally better on a track because of the drift mode and greater rear bias to the AWD system, but realistically, I’d rarely if ever take either of these cars to a track. On a normal road, they’re right with each other when it comes to daily fun, backroad driving, highway driving and general usability. I have to say, given how evenly matched these are everywhere else, I’d probably end up picking the RS6 on the basis of looks given that the exterior is gorgeous and I tend to prefer Audi’s current interiors over Mercs (in terms of overall quality and design). It’s also the same powertrain used in the Urus and Cayenne GTS so we all know it has the potential to sound incredible with an aftermarket exhaust, which you can probably afford if you’re buying either of these!

The E63s is marginally funner on normal roads. Everything is taken up a notch. Audi really only has looks and comfort over the E63s but the drivetrain in the E63s is better. Imo. The shifts are very violent, the baritone in the engine is no match, and the awd system is tuned more towards performance. But both are great cars and you cant go wrong with either.
Clarification: the $200 interior assistant is not the "Hey Mercedes". That's standard. The interior assistant is the gesture control. It puts a camera where the sunglasses holder should be, so it can sense if the driver or passenger is trying to turn on their seat massage, it can take one configurable gesture per front occupant, it can expand menus when a hand gets near the pad or screen a la VW, and it can turn on the dome light if the driver reaches a hand into the passenger footwell or swipes their hand by the light. I believe it can also open or close the pano roof sunshade with a gesture and I think it also adds a second bluetooth speaker so it can detect if the driver or passenger says hey mercedes and do functions for that person, but im not 100% sure about the last two.
For my recent order of a 2021 GLC 43, the dealership (in Canada) was told that the MAgno colors aren't available this coming year.
Is this the case in the US?
I love cars. But I still personally don’t get high powered station wagons. But then again I have the privilege of getting more than 1 car. I guess if you can afford only one then it is awesome to have available.

We love this W213 wagon... we just returned our 2018 E400 and picked up GLE580. Could not afford E63 wagon this time around. If they would make E53 or E580.. I would of gone back to another Wagon. .. instead MB made a Honda Crosstour version... why?
I heard they are discontinuing the GT and replacing it with a 2-door version of the AMG GT 4-door coupe.

Thanks for reaching out. We don’t feature any FCA products on the show. That said, I do know a couple of folks who own them and astounded how many problems the cars have. Just based on that, I would stay away.
I've always felt that seats and steering wheel are two things manufacturers have to get right, you literally are touching them the whole time you're in the car. I've been in the AMG GT 53 with both seats, and while I do agree the buckets add more character to the experience, I didn't feel the regular ones took away from the car, I'm shocked you feel they make such a big difference here in the AMG E 63 S Wagon.

They're my favourite wheels on the E63 and no longer available in the UK. I prefer the chrome window surrounds as well which is no longer available in the UK.

In gle63s is same engine but with 48 volt technology so they have it yet but why not in e class I don't know

Less moving parts. I.e. - No accessory drive. Also, less load on the gas engine. Architecture came straight from 787s and A350s.
It's a truly gorgeous interior, as it should be. Not sure about the matte paint. Anyway, I have a problem with luxury cars costing so much, yet being unreliable.

This car deserves the red/burgundy color used in the Maybach - the regular (cardinal) red offered for 2021 is too commonplace.

Very informative review. E63s Estate is the king, the only car one man needs.
Funny thing about these cars, most folks who have them, have MANY other cars.
Aesthetically I still prefer the RS6 over the other 2 (interior and exterior). I have no idea how they drive, have not tested because I cannot afford and do not want any temptations. XD
E63 Wagon out-performs the RS6 all day. It's a superior daily driver as well. The RS6 does look "better'" in some areas, but for me the choice was easy as the Merc is more subtle and rides incredibly well.

Why you always mention that having a 48 volt electric system will get the car to be more reliable?
Isn't it the opsosite? Having more systems on the car makes it even less reliable?

May have to do a separate video on this topic as I am getting a lot of similar questions. In short, less moving parts will hopefully translate to better long term reliability, There is more, but will save it for an upcoming Season 12 rant.

There are many more wagons on the market for the fast lane than there are for the slow lane. I think the Outback is the only one.
Got one coming up early in Season 12 that is not made for the fast lane and it certainly ain't a Subaru.

nah, only Americans who are clueless... the RS6 sells a multiple of those in Europe for a reason - E63 is so hard and uncompliant for a true family car... its also pig ugly.
LOL the fuel economy is close to a 3.3 stinger. pretty economical

@Motomantv as someone whose had Benzs with the racing seats... trust me, they are great for a little while, then they just irritate you and wish you had a more compliant car 95% of the time... These are daily drivers... they work in a 2 car garage... ie this car and 911 GT3 ... You also have to compare the RS6 to the base E63... wait for the RS6 performance... it will shit all over the E63s
I HATE to admit it as I'm a Merc man but the Audi has a WAAAAAAY better interior. That long flat screen has zero character and the swoopy dash curves and round vents below it don't complement it.
HAAA im actually in the market for a car like this for q2 of 21. So excited. That said i think id rather do the sedan than wagon. I have no need for the wagon but it is cool, and i know the resale is higher but id argue id keep this because this decade is the last horah for ICE and BEV's are gonna take over in mass in a short amount of time sadly. The M5 Is super nice i TD a 20 and loved it. The Audi is a POS considering you only have a choice of black for interior. Yea yea you can do the tan but if you want the upgraded seats which i do they force you into BLACK. Screw you! Stupid Audi. I have not looked at the Panamera so thats another look but very cool. mmmm yes yes.
As you may have seen in our RS6 episode, black was an issue for me as well (czcams.com/video/g85q0xhCAQ8/video.html) but otherwise loved the car. Have the 2021 BMW M5 Competition coming up early in Season 12.

The sports seats are horrible. They have very little padding and this is a wagon. I had them in my GT~S and even in that car they were too firm and uncomfortable
It was an epic fail on Mercedes not to offer the sport seats for 2021.
Why are you laying the car doesent have 603hp it has 612hp
