Looks incredible! I recently earned my cavern diver certification at Orange Grove. When doing the traverse, what becomes of your reel on entry? You do still have to tie off from the open water to the gold line, right? Does someone just dive back down and retrieve it for you? Because the beginning and the end of the dive are in two different places at Peacock, am I right?
@@nrvdiver2747 there is another traverse that we were trying to find the day before when we left a different reel behind. I think at 170 our 180 feet. Near that same entry point. We made a wrong turn, TGF reels! Don't break the rules down there! I don't know if you subscribed or not, but i have another video of retrieving that reel.
@@fishstickah yes indeed I did subscribe 😁 I understand that those reels can be just a little bit handy lol! Just a little 🤏 I saw the Dive Talk video of the fellow who was diving lower Orange Grove without a reel and only just barely made it out. I think he broke all the rules for overhead diving and yet managed to live. Lucky is an understatement! Don't know if I'll ever do intro to cave/full cave, but I enjoyed the heck out diving in the cavern!!!
@NRV Diver dive talk did a video of our ice dive video....2 guys from Georgia critiquing ice diving 🤣. They didn't have much negative to say tho... lol. You start diving caverns and you will eventually get into caves. They are super cool!
Most of the dive is between 40 and 65 feet, never deeper than 70, no deco, although we are using rebreathers. Dive time was an hour and 45 minutes. Very beautiful dive, relaxing, really nothing difficult about it. I think there were 2 sink holes along the way where you could surface, I don't think you are ever further than 900 feet from an exit.

We went back to pick it up. I can't remember if it was the same day or not.
@@fishstickah ah pretty simple then 😂 A separate trip down to retrieve it. Any excuse to get back underwater is a good excuse 😁
