"What do you think of a second baptism as an adult if one was baptized as a child? I have been saved since age 10, and I was baptized then. I barely remember it and have grown with the Lord since then. I have had an urge to be baptized again as a 33-year-old adult, but I was wondering if I could get some opinions on the topic."

I got baptized around 12 or so, my father is a pastor and he suggested it. I grew up doing whatever my sinful nature wanted with no conviction still attending church but far from salvation. When I was 33 years old all of a sudden the holy spirit brought me to repentance and removed the veil over my eyes, and revealed my sinful state. I then trusted in Jesus' atonement for my sin through faith in Him alone. I went back and asked to be baptized again after this radical change I continue to experience in Christ. You are not saved through baptism but through faith in Christ alone. Baptism is an outer statement of an inner conviction. Salvation through Faith alone in Christ Alone.

I was baptized at 10 but now as a teen I grew away from church but want to reaffirm my commitment to Christ, although another way to find this is possible I think it’d do good for my well being

When we are baptised, it is a gift of the holy spirit and this is when we depart from being merely souls and become spirit filled.
My point is; what the holy spirit has done once, we should not try to do again, unless the first baptism was invalid and in most cases it wouldn't be.

I was pressured into baptism by my old church before i came to Christ but with my mouth I accepted him. I've been wanting to get baptized again but this video made me realize that its really not necessary. Thank you!

The problem is that he assumes that the person was baptized in faith in Christ at 10, but this seems to be the reason they are contemplating doing it again at age 33...faith. It is interesting he didn't go to a more relevant scripture in Acts where those in Ephesus were baptized into John, then we're baptized into Jesus. Baptism is largely an statement of commitment to Jesus.

Jesus did it at an older age and he did to lead as an example.And So should we!.
I got baptized in a Mormon church at 12 years old and it wasn’t really my choice it was more of my moms I didn’t know what I was doing it for I kept sinning and doing the things I was doing and now I don’t like the Mormon church anymore their more about the Book of Mormon and they talk about converting to the church more than converting to Christ I don’t know what do y’all think I would love to hear suggestions❤️
Hey I just read your comment. I don't know if this question still bothers you but because the mormon faith is so different (completely different believe) and you even got forced into doing it, I would say you "should" get baptized again in the name of Jesus. You don't have to fear this decicsion because he knows your heart and if you repentet from your old life and accepted him now as your Lord and Savior, there ain't a better time to get baptized. The Jews who had just crucified Jesus and would already have been baptised for remission of sins by John the Baptist Mark 1 :4-5 were told by Peter to repent and be re-baptised in the name of Jesus Christ. Acts 2 :38. The Ephesians who had been baptised in the way of John the Baptist were re-baptised by Paul in the name of the Lord Jesus when he discovered that they had not heard of the Holy Ghost. Acts 19 :1-7.
My sister is baptized at about 7 years old in catholic Church but when she is to be married to a Baptist man the Baptist Church is telling to rebaptised her. This is the bond of contention between the two parties as we are catholic we don't accept twice baptism as it is a grave sin or mockery against Jesus and the holy spirit. So any helpful advice on this regard to solve the problem.
Most of this video was good until the very end when he basically said it was alright to get re-baptized to re affirm to yourself...that is just not Biblical...there is no reason to get re-baptized if you have been baptized correctly the 1st time...it doesn't matter how far away you backslide or anything like that...Baptism is not for re dedicating your life to Christ...you can re dedicate your life to Christ in prayer
