- This has been a long time coming! Been working on this MAP for months now! I'm pleased to be able to show off everyone's hard work!

Song: 'Go to the Light' by Murder By Death - Krátké a kreslené filmy
This is a chilling and cool idea! The fact that Bramble starts to almost become “used” to killing, making him emotionless now instead of the panic and nervousness we saw with the first two deaths of Firestar and Leapordstar. And I got chills when all of the ghosts pointed in one direction to reveal Hawk, and Bramble instantly killing him. Bramble literally became a killing machine.
That was Leopardstar?

I like how you showed that Bramble's murders slowly turned into more like hunting prey, and how all the ghosts are hold the prey that they were shown as. As soon as there was no one left but him and Hawk they took their opportunity, fully knowing that Hawk couldn't see them and killed him off to leave Bramble alone as the consequences of his actions.
One thing that makes me wonder
Is that are they even there ?
What if the “ ghosts “ are just a form of Brambleclaw mind or his guilt.
At the end of the map, when we see the spirits pointing all at Hawkfrost, that could have been Brambleclaw mind trying to put the blame on every single death on his brother alone.
“ Even at the end of the map and the word choice “ go toward the light “, it’s his mind saying he can move on in a way.
Even at the second death we see flashes toward Leopardstar death, where he didn’t even realized that he had hurt her, which show how he wasn’t mentally well at that moment and after that one moment after leopard star death we see a flash to the Firestar and leopard star ghost.
It’s also known how he view them has prey.
I don’t personally think the ghosts are real at all. More of a form of his own mind, his own mind refuse to take blame for any of it only blaming Hawkfrost and no one else.
Also I personally think between the death of all the leader he had murdered more cats between the time after Firestar death, it would explained why Leopard star and Blackstar were alone without anyone around.

To be fair only leopard and blackstar deserved the murking.
I want to say that his mind was trying to see it as hunting prey to take away the guilt.
A personal theory: Hawkfrost originally intended to put Tawnypelt in power in Shadowclan after Blackstar's death, like how he made Mothwing Riverclan's med cat with a fake omen. Unfortunately she caught them in the act, so that plan was scrapped and Tawnypelt is killed to make sure she won't spread the word about what Brambleclaw and Hawkfrost are doing
Bramblestar kind of "copes" with the killing of cats by imagining them as them killing their own prey, so it was easy for him to continue killing cats with no emotion at all because he just kept thinking that way. I also like how everything becomes less saturated throughout the MAP as Bramblestar slowly devolves into madness.
At least, the MAP parts show everything becoming less and less saturated and the shadows getting darker.
This is how CrowLeaf can still win 🤞 /jk
The AU is as chilling as it is beautiful! Bramble losing himself after he gives in and kills Firestar, incapable to stop listening to Hawkfrost, doing all the dirty work without a word - even when it's Tawnypelt (!!) - only to become so hollow that he listens and obeys to the ghosts of their crimes in the end, and turns on his accomplice.
The way deaths of the cats are tied to the deaths of the prey they hunted fascinates me! And how ghosts look here is also SO good!!!
I also like how what brothers do here is so different to the Tigerstar kind of villiany! Hawk metodically and quitly targets clan leaders, makes Bramble do the deed, and then either manipulates the events so the clans will be at each other's throats, creates another Tigerclan situation OR simply watches the chaos unfold. (And it would! Oh it so would.) I wonder if clans even exist, at the end there. It would be funny if even Tigerstar thought they overdid it, lol.
Hopefully poor Mothwing lives through it all, though! With her apprentice, her bff, her bff's bf, her bff's bf's ghost gf, and Nightcloud, the ghost gf's gf and bff's bf's ex-turned-bff. Maybe Russetfur, Cloudtail and Mistyfoot become their collective aunts/uncle. None of them are having a great time!! They might as well not have it together!!!

One neat thing I noticed in the design doc is that the prey that Bramblestar’s victims are portrayed as when it cuts to the prey have similar color palettes to the cat they represent. Nice details!
This is so COOL. This isn't just a warrior cats rampage story, this is dark psychology right here and a disturbing a painfully slow descent into apathetic madness. I'm on board for this map getting finished!!!
Applied! this chilled me out. Seeing bramble turn to a expresionless monster, and each time killing with less care. That kind of behaviour in killers makes me freeze, I like it better than the smiley crazy laughing. I specially got shivers with Onestar death, with Bramble checking the right point to bite while One was staring but couldnt do anything to stop it. GOSHILOVETHIS
I absolutely love how brambles eyes change slowly and how the ghosts are
Love the way Bramble’s victims are all represented by prey items, and the way their ghosts hold the prey as they haunt Bramble. I think I’ll try my hand at the thumbnail contest! Can’t wait to see the final product of this MAP
Quick question: do you allow multiple submissions for the thumbnail competition? I’m not sure I will have multiple submissions, but I have a few different ideas that I might give a go

Oh that detail of Bramblestar's fully flat affect from 2:27 on. Especially as he kills Squirrelfight, then as they all point and he kills Hawkfrost. That was real good
I’m coming from hunneybee’s rant on Twitter to say this map is STUNNING. The symbolism with the animals and the way Squirrelflight looks like an actual squirrel running up the tree is brilliant and I cannot wait to see this finished 🫡
Ok this part gives me chills, 2:46 not just because it is Squirrelflight, but because she climbs a tree to get away from Brambleclaw. Like a squirrel getting away from a random cat chasing it, Brambleclaw climbs the tree as well, but it breaks and Squirrel falls, but he stumbles atop of her killing her with a tree branch..and how she turns into a piece of fresh-kill, making it seem Bramble just killed a Squirrel unstead of Squirrelflight.

This is an amazingly-paced MAP. This is a pretty long story condensed into like 3 minutes, but you got all the just-right moments to include so the story and emotions are easy to follow.
That said, the moment of silence you use in the song to have the chorus of ghosts point to Hawk is stunning. Had a lot of build up, and there couldn’t be a more perfect place in the song for that moment.
I think Hawkfrost here is even bigger monster than Brambleclaw, bc he was willing to make his brother into that without any remorse. Slowly and painfully destroying someone's life, of his own kin, just to fullfil his goals

I would disagree on it, I think Brambleclaw is honestly way worse in a way. He could have just walked away or even stopped Hawkfrost or within the map all we see him doing is ordering him. It honestly Brambleclaw fault for not even thinking before anything, then again all we see is the deaths and no in between.
Brambleclaw could have just killed Hawkfrost to began with, it shows at the end of the map that after spirits pointed at his brother.
One thing I am surprised is what are the other clanmates doing at this moment, like where was Blackstar clanmates or at least some form of patrol.
We do see some dead bodies during Onestar death, I just would think the clans or even the leader would fight back or at least do some damage to Brambleclaw.
I truely believe the moment he killed Firestar and didn’t even try to stand up against Hawkfrost is the moment he became unredeemable.
No even bringing up at the last part how there was a zoom out shot to many spirits, most likely means he killed more then just the leaders.

They're both murderers, I don't see how either is better or worse than the other

I love the Brambleclaw character! and I'm glad I don't see another Ashfur emo map. There are so many ideas to make warrior cats map! and many interesting characters like Brambleclaw/star

Heya! Curious cause the title says open map call 13/63, but it seems to be closed? Usually when a map has open in the title, the numbers will refer to how many parts are still open I think? Just curious!

No one is talking about how the cat’s he killed are shown to be killing the prey, not Bramble killing the prey. It’s a very subtle detail that I noticed, nice way of showing us that he’s trying to not hold himself accountable!

I'm in absolute awe of your visual storytelling, all the different prey shots and ghostly figures are demonstrated so well it gave me chills. I'm a bit of a beginner animator on the scene but I've applied for 20, 25, 5 and 38!! Even then I'd be happy just being a backup for such a creative map!

I actually remember reading a VERY old fanfic with this idea. Not exactly this though. Never finished sadly. I'd like to see an AU where Brambleclaw gave in to his temptation.
....that he never should've had given his reaction to Tigerclaw in the Darkest Hour BUT I digress.

Alright guys it time for some theories guys to throw around about this map. I rewatched the map around ten times now and even went over frame to frame.
1. The first theory I have about the map is the ghost we see within the map aren’t real at all. They are all a figment of Bramblestar mind guilting him for what the crimes he did to others, within the map even before the first death happened it flashed toward him viewing Firestar has a mouse. Which shows that even before he killed his mind was mentality there. At the end of the map we see the spirits point at Hawkfrost in which it’s his own brain putting all the fault in Hawkfrost and not himself.
Even the end lyrics of the song “ go toward the light “. Showing that his mind must move on toward a better path. Honestly the ending shot shows so much about the story and shows that he didn’t even target the leader- also other life’s as well. I also believe between each of the deaths of each leader, more deaths caused by Brambleclaw off screen.
2. Now this does go around the first theory, but this is crazy so hear me out. Hawkfrost isn’t actual there, he is part of his mind too in some form. Taking a bit of my first theory into account. Within the map each victim at the time of death doesn’t even seem to be focusing on Hawkfrost at all, even deaths like Onestar he doesn’t even seem to look over toward Hawkfrost at all only Bramble claw. Even during Tawnypelt death it shown she look over at Brambleclaw, not even Hawkfrost before running. At the start of the map I believe what happened was that he already was loosing his insanity in some way, Hawkfrost was the part of his mind that made him act murderous. Overtime when he kept listening to that side of his mind, he just became worse and worse. To also add some claim to Hawkfrost not being actually there by the proof we never actually see blood or any damages on Hawkfrost at all. Even during the Windclan battle which taken out many cats seem like not even a blood or claw mark on him. Within the map itself we see that Hawkfrost never threaten Brambleclaw, all he does is order him to kill. After all the murder was done, Hawkfrost just seem to walk away like it was nothing. Has that side of his mind was finally finished, him murdering Hawkfrost at the very end shows that he murdering or removing that side of him. Has we see at the end of the map with all those ghosts or maybe just form in his own head that he could never escape what he did no matter what.
