- In this video I give a full in depth tour of a 2008 Isuzu NPR 6.0 V8. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this truck while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. A thorough tour/review of this truck designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.

like I said on Facebook, I moved with one of these things last year (obviously the cube van version). Also, as a trucker, you see these things A LOT in urban environments, where they really are best suited. It looks like the rental I had was a bit older, as this one in the video looks a bit updated, but it seems basically the same. Also, you could get these things with a turbodiesel four cylinder around 5.0 liters of displacement, which my rental had.
That is VERY unique and thanks for doing a video of this type of vehicle!
lol funny seeing you doing this unusual review but i like it because it makes your channel more diverse in terms of vehicle types. keep up the good work kyle and i certainly hope for more reviews!!
those NPR trucks are cool, the turning radius on those things is awesome because of how the cab sits directly over the front wheels.
but is owned by japan
Yeah, trucks vid! love em! keep it up man!
I wish I had an excuse to buy one of these. Great vid!
I always wondered if you could get power windows in those types of trucks. You really showed a lot about these types of vehicles. Thanks for sharing. I have seen GMC versions of these trucks too.
thanks for taking my advice and showing a better view of the dealership name
Awesome Truck !!!
This was the first vid i saw from Kyle...back in 2010...still watching 2012.
Do you still watch
What a beauty
now that is cool kyle!
That was cool, I too would like to see a test drive.
WOW you can never know what comes next on Kyle's channel!
Wow 😳 sound good
The 6.0 and the 6.2 are my favorite !
Now they have the 6.6L V8 gas almost 300 bhp!
Isuzu Diesel better
Interesting vehicle.
Hey dude may you please do a test drive of the truck you are reviewing please
i love isuzu :)
I recognized that GM V8 sound!
I still prefer the Isuzu 6HK1. Feel weird having a gas v8 on these heavy truck.
ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!!!!!
Look for more Isuzu's, like the NRR or NQR, but despite living in Newfoundland, Canada.
Although I did see an Isuzu NRR somewhere on the road.
Another thing is, they never really put fancy radios in work truck like these. Mainly because they are not made to be driven every day and to enjoy the radio.
Anyway, on a side note, great video!
AHAHAHAHA!! Kyle you took your channel up to a new level, this video is priceless! You gotta take this thing for a test drive.
Isuzu's are great little trucks, they're really popular with small delivery firm's here in the UK, so are the Mitsubishi's aswell. In fact there was a show on TV over here not so long ago called Undercover Bosses, and the UK boss of Isuzu went undercover to find out why they were losing sales, and according to their customers their trucks are dependable and good work horses, but a lot of companies stopped using Isuzu's because sourcing parts was far to difficult and time consuming. Shame really
Could you find more Isuzus? That would be great!
it looks so damn well maintained for a truck with over 200,000 mileage.
At 1:10 it clearly says only 949 miles...
Thank you. Does it have an OBD2 diagnostic?
Please do a test drive!!
That's my dream car right there, lol. ;)
A tip: you can watch movies on Flixzone. I've been using it for watching lots of of movies these days.
@Aidan Marley Definitely, I've been watching on Flixzone} for since december myself :)
My dream is a 90s Isuzu NPR with Isuzu 6BD1 diesel engine. 6BD1 is like a Japanese Cummins 6BT
hey kyle what are the chances of you getting a review of the new 2011 infiniti M37/56? that would be awesome.
i saw a (99) cadillac at the beginning of the video...i was wondering if you could do a review on that too.
there you go kyle, something to transport your genesis on long trips or to car shows.
Very nice 👍 money 💸💸💸 Maker wish that was mine very beautiful truck 🚛
I grew up in Monroe Nc I still live really close
She has a misfire on cold start 😂 In Australia it's crazy to have a guzzling petrol (gasoline) engine in a full truck (air brakes etc) that wasn't made in the 70s or very early 80s. Last one I can think of was the petrol International ACCO trucks.
i'm trying of importing 2 units of those trucks here in the philippines, but I can't find the right way and port to put through. as you know second hand vehicle importation here is very strict already. i'm planing to change my units for my gravel and sand business and i'm looking for U.S version diesel Isuzu or canter truck since the U.S has the latest japanese trucks already and it's original left hand drive.
good
hehe i want to sit in the cab while someone opens it up to show the engine tht would be fun
@Saabkyle04 can u do a review and test drive of a newer Saturn Vue?
Our work pick up is an iveco daily with a 2.5 TD and a 6 speed manual gearbox.. No air conditioning or automatic as an option. Oh us Europeans have it the hard way. ;)
@Npixelvd its just a cheaper option. The diesel is available for an extra cost
you need to put some one it the cab when you lift it up :)
@Ty4ons Diesels also have more torque in the lower RPMs.
Can you please do tsst drive on this truck
gm is one of the most reliable vehicle manufacturer to date they hold the current record for the most 1 million mile gas vehicles on the road do your research
Everyone says it should have a diesel. Probably for torque, yes, but i bet this truck cruises happily at 70 mph with no hesitation.
+Juan Gil yes but diesel gets 13mpg and this V8, you are lucky to get 4mpg
True fact. Lol but who cares ?
here in central america we have the diesel
@juan gil who cares? uh people with a brain care. to travel to to a few differrent states you can either pay $600 on gas or $5000... does your brain work or are you stuck on stupid?. these trucks will break down there not strong enough to tow for long periods of time. deisels will get 500 000 miles while this will only get 200 000 miles tops without rebuilds.
How much power it make
In Indonesia is called isuzu Elf
I didnt even know isuzu made any more vehicles
Were do you sell these trucl
this can be driven with a g class?
Good video but you need to add a road test section.
@YELLOWxSNOW ive done that in a larger truck with an electric tilt lift... it WAS fun :D
I wonder how that thing would be in a front in accident and that's amazing that you can lift the whole cab up.
RigginTheRod010 I was in an accident recently I'm one of these. There was just a small scuff on the bumper and the other car was pretty messed up
T.I., Van Halen, an Sade? damn thats a soundtrack
yungkidnf sometimes I watch these videos for the music he crackles out on the radios.
TEST DRIVE PLEASE!!
test drive !!!!
i think this is your first commercial truck you've recorded right?
wonder what happens if you forget to lock it and slam on the brakes at high speed????
I love Isuzu! I have a 1994 Rodeo. Shame they don't sell consumer vehicles in North America anymore.
Well American think USA truck are better than Japanese Counterpart.
**SO HOW DO YOU CHECK THE OIL?????**
That stereo was horrible! Better than nothing I suppose. Great vid!
It’s a LS2 engine lookslike in caprice engine
+Angel Soriano mamaw yung npr nila
i like the car how much of it
the gas engines in these things aren't really up to the task. i rarely see these trucks and the few times i did these things were struggling to accelerate or climb hills. the 5.2L diesel 4 banger does a better job and it's the engine i see most commonly in these.
Mike Yu I think you don’t have any experience with these trucks the 6.0 gas engine in these trucks does need to rev to make power but the gas truck always out accelerates the 5.2 liter diesel any day of the week, MAYBE if it was loaded to full capacity would the diesel be better. I drive a npr 6.0 gas everyday for work, and the main reason it sounds like it struggles is the gearing and the transmission tuning in these trucks tend to keep the rpms up in the power band. The 6.0 is plenty powerful enough. Only complaint is the torque management these trucks have to keep from exploding the transmission (Gm should mate it to a stronger transmission) and the annoying detune These trucks have (Chevy should make the regular engine more realiable instead of stripping 60hp from us)
I also drive one of these trucks daily, as a 20ft box body landscape truck. It’s a 2017 so fairly new but it runs great and pulls pretty well for what it is.
On normal acceleration I’m hitting almost 3k rpm but that’s just how they drive!
Whats the name of the 2nd song
Wow thats ls powered?
Yes, you most definitely want to have the entire cab "locked" in....LMFAO too funny!
Can someone tell me if these things are safe? I drive one to work every day, these things really have no crumple zone so I'm wondering if they hold up we'll in a serious crash?
CaLxRoyalty I was driving one the other day and got hit. No damage to the truck. Lots of damage to the other car. It would take something pretty big to take one of these out.
I need this .... this is for sala
@TheSaikou96 how?
out of all things u review kyle, this is the most WTF are u reviewing LOL
great viudeo man! thumbs up as always!
@Jakeman2164 cummins 24v with 6 speed. I like it.
@Righty736 Trucks are used a lot and diesels are way cheaper to run and last a lot longer because they can stay on lower revs and diesel is a better lubricant. I don't see how gas trucks can be any cheaper in the long run. I have it really hard believing they aren't cheaper in the long run.
And the green movement where I live hate trucks and prefer trains for hauling cargo. 10ish litre diesels aren't exactly green with all that sot and NOx.
Not bad
1:22, Japanese Truck is very nice
is isuzu my GM?
V8 ? in such small vehicle this truck is a beast
it’s for a strong haul capacity
@riederernicholas95 What difference does it make? The video was still made, and you still got to see/hear it run. So what does it matter? Think of it from a dealership's point of view. Your letting some stranger take off in your $20,000+ vehicle. You'd wanna make sure they didn't run off with it. And if you really wanna keep saying this, then at least say it right. It HAS no gas. And you commented on one that had a DIESEL engine in it, not a GAS engine in it. So please don't hate.
Kyle it will be much easier if you mount a go pro on your head.
The only thing that I like on this truck is the engine.
Gavin Graham horrible for this truck
How it can be up to 6000rpm on a truck?!
Classic Japanese horn
@saabkyle04 please make a test drive vid! :)
motor tamiratı
In Europe, light trucks like this are powered with 2.5 or 3.0 I4 turbo diesel and no auto gearbox on the options list either.
This truck pretty cushy for what it is, like it's meant for long distance hauls.
music at 6:25 plz
@jpaulo33 And it's automatic...
Kyle, you were right, it's called a stake bed.
Not since 2006. Isuzu official press release: April 11 2006
this truck could be fast with that LS 6.0 engine
Its NOT a ls its a vortec
If only Isuzu sold these as pickup trucks regular people can buy as a daily car
Is It gasoline ?
I never found gasoline truck in my country
Anthony G. Yeah some trucks here use gas. Most medium and heavy duty ones use diesel and Natural Gas here.
@gajda1984 thumbs up!
Only in America: V8 gasoline engine and automatic transmission in a truck. Probably gets around 10 mpg. Anywhere else in the world this truck would be sold with a diesel engine and a manual transmission.
78F-675.
nice truck, didn't know they used GM's motor tho.
@rubiks15 Every Non-American styled truck (without the big nose) works like this.
