Foreign(Nigerian) - trained pharmacist, moved to NYC in 2016, diagnosed with lymphoma 2017, beat it. Currently practicing as a clinical pharmacist(oncology) in one of the top cancer hospitals in the country. Its been quite a journey for me, never stop, never settle.

I’m an Exercise Physiologist working in a rural Cardiac Rehab center. I’m an aspiring physician. A major obstacle I’ve had to overcome was my lack of financial support/ assistance during my undergrad years. I’ve had to work 2-3 jobs as a full time student to pay for classes and keep a roof over my head. I did not graduate in the “typical 4 years” but that hasn’t stopped me from getting me degree...I WILL become a doctor!!!

Congratulations on the healthy son, hope mom is doing well!!! I am currently a cardiac critical care nurse, who is also interested in going to medical school. Challenges I’ve had to overcome are so lengthy 😭😭😭 but the biggest one was my time as a young lady, I had to work with out papers and focus on not being homeless. Luckily for me I am strong willed and determined.

I'm going to the Internal medicine field. The greatest challenge so far is constantly doubting my accomplishments and having a constant fear that everything will suddenly fall apart.
Thank you for that! Never doubting yourself and instilling that confidence that you are meant to be a doctor is half the battle! Keep winning that battle and you’ll do just fine!

Not a doctor YET!!! But I plan to study emergency medicine. I started my journey into medicine back in May at Caribbean Medical University but unfortunately the school lost their accreditation so I decided to leave that particular program. Currently, looking for a mentor in Atlanta and applying to U.S medical schools. The scrubs would serve as a reminder to never give up, not everyone’s journey is the same, and that In order to wear them I have to earn it!!!

I’m a black male with an athletic build. I noticed most of my scrubs, especially the athletic fit ones, are made for the physique of white guys. As a former football player, do you feel that these scrubs are a good fit for someone like me who’s built more like a fullback.
