    Thank you for your video. I had been on Trulicity for a year or so and had lost a bit of weight, but that was hard to get and I got switched to Ozempic. Over a month I moved to the 4 mg dose and I found it much easier to ignore food and eat more reasonably and all my markers improved over the next few months. I seem to tolerate the highest dose. THEN everyone found out and because the 2 mg and 4 mg dose cost about the same, around $1000 for 4 weeks, everyone went after the 4 mg dose. My plan covers the lower dose and after two weeks of not being able to get the high dose I have moved back down to the 2 mg, though the pharmacy is still ordering the 4 mg dose in case it comes through some day. Thanks for talking about the studies. And I pointed a friend who is going the compounding route to your video on this. Again, thanks! Well, why would weight loss just be a "side effect" of GLP-1 antagonists and reducing insulin restistance the main / direct one? The mechanism directly causes a slow down of gastric emptying and appetite reduction (and it even increases insulin release at the immediate time scale). It's likely the weight loss which then causes the reduction in insulin restistance - when the cells are no longer blocking glucose (at 'max fat fill level').
    Drawbacks of those meds are the unkown long-term side effects, the inevitable weight rebound upon cessation (life-time dependency), and due to the extreme prices a fruther massive increase of health care costs / insurance fees, once costs are covered for all these effects - till patents fade out.
    GDP-wise South Korea has 1/4 of the health care costs compared to the (recent) US, while they are much healtier and less overweight, life expectancy is 7 years higher. Spain similar. That's something to think about.

    Semaglutide and a whole plant diet are both effective ways to improve heart health. Semaglutide is a drug that helps to control blood sugar levels and appetite. A whole plant diet is a diet that is based on plant foods, such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, and nuts.
    There is a lot of research that supports the benefits of a whole plant diet for heart health. Studies have shown that people who follow a whole plant diet have a lower risk of heart disease, stroke, and type 2 diabetes. A whole plant diet is also associated with a lower body weight, which is another important factor for heart health.

      it’s painful to have to eat so little in calories to get the results you need for your body, but it works. I know it works. I am 77 years old now, and I have to say that counting the amount of calories I eat every day just by looking at the food because I’m so used to doing it since I was 40 years old, is the only way to keep diabetes, heart attacks, and strokes from happening. No, they do NOT lower insulin resistance because NO oral glucose tolerance, insulin and c-peptide curves have been done on the individual BEFORE, DURING (about a year into it) and AFTER the drug is out of the system to evaluate beta cell proficiency and insulin resistance.
    You will find a very good curve during the drug, however about a month after stopping the drug you I’ll see SIGNIFICANT RESISTANCE as w/o the drug pushing TRPV1 up-regulation forcing insulin production and glucose into even IR (insulin resistant) cells the blood glucose post challenge on the oral GTT will be bad showing significant hyperglycemia, hyperinsulinemia and high c-peptide!
    Stop falling for the sales distractions and understand and look at the biochemistry. Additionally, insulin upregulates insulin-like growth peptide that also leads to excessive oxidative stress due to too much reactive oxygen species produced when glucose is forced into cells that have run out of antioxidants.
    PLEASE look and understand the BIG picture, not the snake oil sold to desperate people damaged by the high carbohydrate/sugar diet.

    • @susanbeever5708
      @susanbeever5708 Před 9 měsíci

      @@gdpope52 the drug stimulated the TRPV1 receptor on pancreatic beta cells that then produces/secretes insulin. Insulin then up-regulates TRPV1 on cells in the rest of the body and drastically increases cellular uptake of glucose to the point that the oxidation of the glucose in the cells exceeds the cell’s antioxidant capacity and reactive oxygen species cause damage to the cell and go into circulation causing further damage such as lipid peroxidation that leads to atherosclerosis. TRPV1 is on mitochondrial membranes too and causes excessive ROS that damages the power house of the cell the mitochondria. Too much ROS damage the endoplasmic reticulum in the cell and inflammatory reactions happen from there too. Too much ROS lead to osteoporosis by increasing too much geranyl peptides the precursors of osteoclasts, the cells that break down bone.
      It’s quite a problem. You have probably heard of many diseases from hyperinsulinemia that is too much insulin such as polycystic ovarian syndrome, etc.
      The problems of over stimulating TRP receptors are many and by drug companies telling you to look at the seemingly amazing results instead of the core underlying biochemistry and physiology is like someone trying to sell you a beautiful car on the surface but has a rusted out frame underneath it.
      The glucose tolerance, insulin, c-peptide curves are quite inconvenient but are worth it knowing exactly what is happening to the endocrine system with this drug.
