    I would be suspicious that it didn't need paint correction. I too took mine to have it done and couldn't believe the difference, even new cars can use paint correction. I had X-Pel put on and two ceramic coats at a cost of almost $5000. X-Pel was put on the entire front end, about 6 inches up all around the car, the flares and other places as well as between the windshield and sunroof and the pillars. I think it was totally worth it not having to worry about stone chips. It's funny I find myself only needing to wash it occasionally and with the Adam's blower I'm done in 20 minutes. It's weird not having to go out for hours and love and rub and buff. Lol. I'm realizing I really don't miss it, I'm getting older and not younger. Lol.

      @@GuysTalkingCars maybe I typed out a response and didn't post. To summarize in response I was saying that your ceramic is so glossy it looks like liquid glass.. almost like a direct mirror. I'm concerned about it being too glossy. I am probably going to attempt the kavaca matte ppf with a ceramic coat on top. The matte ppf should flatten the initial gloss and ceramic coating on top would hopefully make a glossy matte. If you look at the marketing for the hemi orange package that car in picture looks like it's more matte than gloss. Which is what I'm trying to replicate.

    • @GuysTalkingCars
      @GuysTalkingCars  Před 2 lety

      @@NJ_Scat_Hemi_Orange gotcha - makes sense. I can tell you that glossy look is more a product of those fluorescent lights in the detail shop. It does give it a nice look, but doesn’t alter the finish too much.

    Im interested in this so if i can only pay for one done at a time which should I get done first the clear coat protection, or the ceramic coating, or do they need to be done together?

    • @GuysTalkingCars
      @GuysTalkingCars  Před 3 lety +1

      They actually recommended both - they laid down ceramic first then did PPF. If you could only do one, I would PPF the front/high impact areas. It’s already saved me from rocks. But you could also do the 2 year ceramic with it to save money. I did the 5 year.

    Just about any new car direct from the factory needs some sort of paint correction. Heck the guy at the dealer who washed your car before pick up could put imperfections in the paint. I got the 9 year ultimate serum black pakage which also included the rims, all glass and interior fabric. That cost me 1800.00 in 2019. It has a 9 year guarantee as long as i bring the car in for a yearly inspection. I didnt put the wrap on the car as that was way out of my budget

    I don't think I would spend 4gs on paint protection and ceramic coating. I ordered a widebody scat two weeks ago and talked to a place nearby that said 800 for ceramic coating. I don't think I would have gone as far as you did on the paint protection either. I'd probably opt in for the complete protection of the whole front of the car, but that's where it ends.
    2gs for the whole thing max. Anyways I know you want to protect your investment and so do I. But I'd rather spend the other 2gs on other things for the car. Like some sticky Mickey's or Michelin 305's. I know I'm grabbing some 5% tint too. Bad ass ride brother. Enjoy!

    Can I ceramic coat my self a new car. Assuming no paint correction needed. I believe ceramic coat kits are like $300 so you just wash the car and then claybar the entire thing. Then just spread the coating.

    • @GuysTalkingCars
      @GuysTalkingCars  Před rokem +2

      I’m not sure if my headlights were PPF. I’ll have to check. If I had to do over I would skip the ceramic, do a paint correction and PPF the entire car.

      I have a 2013 Charger RT, redline red, with 95k miles as my daily driver. Have only kept it clean regularly and applied a couple of coats of "regular" wax and the car looks great still.
