The stories are amazing and it's what got my attention when especially he went solo in 1996. I presented his music to my wife and now she's a fan.
Once in awhile in someone's life you hear an artist and say to yourself that person is the one something sticks and that someone in my life is Mark Knopfler.
It never seams to amaze me Marks thought of words for his songs , he's more than just a accomplished musician he's more of a poet .

The whole Tracker album is amazing. I had a hard time to listen to the other albums in the box set because I always had the Tracker album on the turntable. Silver Eagle is indeed one of those songs you can keep listening on repeat because it is just so dreamy and beautiful.

Mark writes poems like Dylan if Dylan wrote poems you could understand. He isn't even above providing context like "Piper" was written for his uncle, a piper, who died at Normandy and "Could this be Goodby is for those who called their loved ones from the towers and planes on 9/11. And as a bonus round there are no more infantry pipers in the British army.

I love Mark Knopfler playing but l have been trying to emulate this playing ,only now just realising that it’s being played by two acoustic guitars. I have spent hours trying to hear how this melodic tune is played. I should have watched more of Marks playing and not just listened.
I can see here some frames from another Mark Knopflers’ video, I mean “Get Lucky” (an evening with Mark Knopfler 2009), fun!
