My 48th birthday, 10 minutes from my home in Shepherds Bush. I was third row on the floor directly in front of Knopfler. I joked to friends on Expecting Rain about Dylan playing Forever Young for my birthday. When I heard the opening notes I wept. Best Birthday Ever.

Final night of a lovely tour together, I was lucky enough to catch this and the previous night. First times I'd seen Knopfler and made me a fan for life.
I'm a Dylan fan since mid 60's but Mark Knopfler owned this.
Oh my - THIS brings back SO many memories from my past AND present! Being 70ish now, I grew up listening to ALL of Dylan’s music. I realize that he’s aged a lot, and has basically lost his voice completely in this duet. But I do give him 👍 credit for performing in spite of it. It’s sad 😔 to me in a way, having ‘known’ Dylan and his music for more than 55 years. Now I’ve been listening to Mark since I 1st heard him in ‘15 as a soloist with ‘Are We in Trouble Now’. That was a song sent to me on a CD by a man I met, and spent time with every day for 3 weeks while I was on a 3 + month long world 🌍 cruise. He sent it to express how he felt about me/us, and the lyrics said it all - 100%! Living in different countries, we had a “long distance’ relationship, getting together in person whenever and wherever we could. In between, we exchanged emails on daily, and had weekly video chats. Sadly, he passed away 3 yrs later. Anyway, Mark’s music - esp his lyrics, continue to be just as meaningful now as they did in the 1st song. He brings back both some sad 😢, bittersweet, memories AND good 😊 ones now too! *** Sorry for posting my very long ‘true life story’ here! I doubt anyone’s interested enough to read it all!

Many have played music, toured and worked hard their whole life to develop their skills as musicians but most of them (if any) don't reach Mark's level. I'm not religious myself but when I hear Mark play I sometimes wonder; maybe people like 'Jessi Perkins' is right. It doesn't mean we can't understand the dedication and hard work behind it.

Tony Garnier comes across as if he is in heaven. Mark Knoffler’s guitar is so emotive. I love the tone that Mark gets. What a superb guitarist. A musical genius who like most genius’s is HUMBLE.

As many Bob Dylan fan's know, Mark Knopfler worked with Bob Dylan on two Superb albums. Slow train coming 1979 album and Infidels 1983 album.

Just his solos make it worth it to listen to. As far as Dylan in last 25 years, I have seen hundreds of shows. Some great, some duds. But ALWAYS at every show at least once, bob will take you to another place. Nothing like him. Him at 1% is better than anything out there

Interesting to watch their dynamic. Dylan can be a little difficult to play with but Mark has both patience and confidence. A less confident vocalist would come in with "young" after Bob's "forever," but Knopfler doesn't just defer, sticking to "forever young." It's the little stuff, but so many moments of the little stuff in so many songs. Knopfler is just about unparalleled in fluidly navigating the instrumental spaces he's given. We made it another year with both of them. 😅❤

What an unlikely pair of musicians together, AND how they managed to pull it off in this performance - imo at least they did! I’m a Baby Boomer going on 70 and grew up with ‘classic’ Dylan and his songs. Sadly, I only recently ‘discovered’ Knopfler as a ‘soloist’ in 2015, but have great respect for him both for his 👍 voice and guitar 🎸, in addition to what I feel are meaningful lyrics in many of his songs. Maybe I’m a minority in this case, as I’ve read some other comments that weren’t as positive like mine, but music in general is a personal choice and preference!
