I always figured the father would understand. "Walk away from trouble if you can". The key word here is "can". Being unable to walk away due to your own morals is a thing.

Ask any Kenny Rogers fan and they all say the Gambler is his best song, but to me, this one is my favorite.
“Manners maketh man.” And yeah… Kenny’s got an amazing backlist. His storytelling is next level, as are his ballads. I think The Greatest is one of my favorite story songs. And Buy Me a Rose is a favorite love song…and the last song he did with Dolly, You Can’t Make New Old Friends is also a must hear.

Loved this reaction. The fact you had to replay to make sure you heard it right about the Gatlin boys come calling (most people have to do that because it was pretty shocking subject matter for 1980 or whenever this was made)...to you already predicting that most men would not be able to hold back in this situation...and he didn't. I would love to see you react to Reuban James. Make sure it is the version that is almost 3 minutes. Some of the videos cut a lot from the song. This is one of my favorites and I've never seen a reaction to it.
