I tried to take my college as better looking right now. I took it as I want some Photography type of classes. I have to take my classes serious next semester as a college senior now.

      I just graduated two weeks ago and I gotta say I completely get where you’re coming from. I had one of the less than desirable experiences from time in college. From terrible roommates to bad relationships/breakups to feeling so alone and depressed w merely no friends. I had to move home for little bit this last semester for my mental health and it helped so much. Starting therapy, meditation and journaling all really have help me get through the every end of it. Just remember to try your best to take care of yourself. Something I started to try recently to help with my depression is to try 1 thing a day that makes me uncomfortable (ex. trying a new food, working out, doing something independently) it’s scary or weird in the moment but as soon as it over you’re so proud of yourself (kinda how it might possibly feel when you finally graduate). Hope this helps, good luck bestie you’re doing amazing ❤️

      LMAO, no you can't enjoy anything after college. Oh wait, you're a woman. You won't understand the struggles of a man. You, as a woman, can choose to get a job on your own, but you can also choose not to do that and instead take the easy way out by many ways such as marrying rich or starting an OnlyFans (no matter how heinous it actually is since it enables women to profit big off of exploiting men's mental health by paywalling even the most basic of social interaction, but that's for another topic). Men on the other hand, don't have any of that luxury, and they are forced into low-paying, high-effort jobs that result in them being drained out of all the time and money they could have in life.
      That is why for men, college is all or nothing, because after that, if a man isn't rich, only hell awaits.

      @akiranatsume3501 Před 3 lety +1

      What's the damn point of living after graduating college when life after college is nothing but torture?
      In college, you could have tons of fun, make tons of long-lasting friendships, and meet plenty of gorgeous and fun-to-be-with women who actually care about looking hot and/or having fun, and overall, have plenty of great times.
      After college, if you aren't rich, all of that is gone. All that exists are responsibilities that drain away all your time and money so that you will not have time or money to spare for an ounce of life outside of your job. There is no such thing as fun, friendships aren't a thing since everyone is just there to use you for their assignments, and all non-rich women are not only hideous but boring as well since all they care about is their jobs, which in turn leads to a life of absolute hell, completely devoid of good times, let alone great ones.
      If college isn't the best years of life, you truly and utterly fucked up and you will regret wasting your college years for the rest of your life.

    Advice from a recent college graduate: Don’t think that your college experience has to be the stereotypical one. If you don’t want to go out, get drunk, and party, don’t do it. If you want to, then by all means do so responsibly. Just don’t let anyone make you feel like going to football games, partying, and joining Greek life are THE college experience. Your college experience should be YOUR experience, not what people tell you it should be 🤍

      Don't worry about this bud. I am a year out of college. I went into college with this mindset and I spent a lot of time growing while in college, but i'll be honest it wasn't the best 4 years. I can already tell you the last year has been amazing, and I am not doing anything I thought I would be doing. I changed my mind about what I wanted to do my senior spring. You have so much life that happens after college. Don't let the people that surround your or the media let you believe that the best 4 years of your life have to happen before you've even made it *statistically* through even a quarter of your life. There is so much life to live you will see your friends have kids and some countries that you know of now won't be recognizable when look at them in 40 years. If college was the best 4 years of someone's life they weren't paying attention to what was around them because there is too much goodness as we grow and get older to let the time before we have even fully developed be the "best time of our lives" Also in my experience when I ask the the people who are saying that they typically say they just want to be able to drink without getting hungover or they miss not having responsibilities like kids and if that's the case then you can choose whether or not you want kids and they may not the best people to be taking advice from

    As someone graduating in December, I’ve been thinking a lot about this! We’re sold this narrative that if you don’t make a group of lifelong best friends, find your soulmate, study abroad, etc that you’ve done something wrong. In reality, I don’t really know anyone who had a “perfect” college experience. Not to sound overly pessimistic, but college is also filled with constant comparison (watching others get internships and do amazing things and feeling behind), being tired, growing pains/adulting, and loneliness. And I think that if we were honest upfront about some of these realities people would feel less alone for not absolutely living college. As someone who is also very close to my family, I HATED being away from them so much. And that feeling didn’t just disappear after freshman year. I wish someone would tell me that I have my entire life to experience amazing moments, and that I don’t have to feel pressured to cram all of these milestones into four years. There’s no rush!

    PREACH! My college experience was also not the best 4 years of my life -- in fact, I would say I was probably at my lowest for a good portion of it. I'm all about normalizing not having to have a perfect college experience and not setting up young adults for disappointment. If they love their time attending college, GREAT! If they don't, that's OKAY!

    I am soo happy that for first time someone is actually saying this. I am honestly tired of people romanticizing college experiences and those stupid movies and series amde on it. My college life isn't that good. I think I had better social life when I was in school than college! My mental health was at the lowest point it can be during college and I thoughts, things might get better and just at that point, covid pandemic came and I am here doing online college at my home since the past 1.5 years and I hate it!!! When people tell me how fun their college life is I feel that I am missing out so many things but I am just 21, even if my college is getting over soon, I am very sure better parts of my life will come soon even if like others, I didn't really have that so called college life!

I will do my best and use all the opportunities I have, but the whole romantic crazy college experience is not in the cards for me but it doesn’t me that this time is useless. It also means that those romantic and picturesque experiences won’t exist later in life. A big I learned like when in high school is that we have time. I felt like my school didn't care about our education as much as our money. In the end, I did find my best friends there and definitely grew A LOT as a person though. I think instead of saying it's the best 4 years of your life, we should tell people it's a time where you will be challenged by life and start creating your identity as an individual.

    This video is so important!!!! The pressure we put on 17 and 18 year olds to have it all figured out is ridiculous! I wish someone had shared this idea with me when I was that age. Instead I went to college in a major that I guessed I would like, transferred schools and into another major that I guessed I would like and ended up just leaving. I completed 3 years of school with no real direction and couldn’t figure out what I wanted to do or who i wanted to be. And the end result was not finishing. I felt like a complete failure. If I had it to do all over again, I would have gone in without declaring a major, taken some different classes to find out my interests, taken my time (you don’t have to graduate in 4 years), then declared a major and finished. It doesn’t have to be cookie cutter like they want you to believe!! One size does NOT fit all! Thanks for speaking up about this!!

    This is so importante. I grew up as a nerd girls struggling to fit in school and I was always told that I was going to fit in so well in University, that I’d meet people like me, etc. Sadly, during my undergrad years I had some of the worst experiences of my life: my dad died, i got depression, started having self destructive behaviors, etc. Later, during my last year I was better and in my way to recover, so I decided to go to grad school in the US (I’m from Chile). I got accepted in Columbia and was granted a very important financial aid from my government, but everything cameback. I hated nyc, my depression cameback, and I was soalone and so far away from my family that everything felt meaningless.

    I am from a small town in Wisconsin. I ended up moving to Minneapolis for my first semester of college. Two weeks into the second semester, I came home and essentially "dropped out". Everyone was like "wow, that's not the girl that I knew". I ended up finding a college that I love 25 minutes from my home, and I commute everyday! I love being home but I don't love my hometown... that is the whole reason that I wanted to move away that first semester. I feel this video!! I never imagined that in my college years I would be doing online classes in the middle of a pandemic either BUT I learned that I CAN do online classes and that I nail them. It has been such a learning experience but overall, it's okay that these years did not go according to plan. If I would've stayed at the first college, there's no way I would've been able to find the correct career path and majors that I am pursing now.

Media romanticizes college/ what college “should be” all the time and it’s different for everyone/ never gonna be like how it is in the movies (tv etc.). It may not even be 4 years and that’s ok. I transferred colleges three times, experienced bullying, experienced living on campus and commuting, went to 2 year and 4 year schools, had some high highs, and really low lows. College can be great but it can also really suck. But the years are transformative nonetheless.
