That bone mask is out of this world!
Isn't it? Nick is a true wizard.
Someone sub to @Vard
They both remind me of art teachers but Nick is the teacher that half the class hates because they expected an easy A but everyone else loves, while Bill is the one that lets you eat lunch in his classroom and calls u “champ”.
HAH! The dream combo!
LOL, that cat paw!!!
I was wondering if anyone else had noticed..
@@yodasscrotum Me too! I had to rewind it just to make sure!
They used it on part 1 too
It make me laugh all clip
What always amuses me about prop making in the US is the availability and low cost of the materials. The shelves of mold on gear in the opening scene! There is only one place in Ireland that sells Mold on. I get cheaper silicone form the North but there really is not the demand here to allow the low cost. Always funny when I hear " I got this for $4.99 from my local Target" sign.
Yup, same here in Mexico, some products are near impossible to get or prohibitive expensive. But with a lot of research, and creativity one can make do with the things that are available, for example last year I made a mask with paper mache, body filler and whole lot of sanding.
i know the feeling...even here in canada, nowhere you can buy this stuff on shelves. when i got the test kit, it cost 40$ and shipping was 50$
I get my Smooth On stuff shipped from NL as its cheaper than France, I just checked the distributor list and chose the best one- www.smooth-on.com/distributors/

Me, an Aussie: * Stares sadly out of the window as the cost of every material cost more than my student loan. *
Got a great idea. You guys both wear glasses and pretty much have to take those of when wearing those masks. That is a problem for many people with stronger glasses. How about a 'how to' where you incorporate the glasses so you can actually see something when you wear that mask.
thats a great idea !
Make a design of a mask that incorporates the lenses you have (at appropriate distance from your face, etc.). You can take the lenses and add some masking tape on top so you don't scratch them in the process. Sculpt the mask with the lenses in place (make sure you sculpt a frame/border around them). Make a mold and cast it the same way they did it in the video... then cut out the plastic from the area where the lenses are supposed to be and glue them in from behind (might require some sanding/dremeling or a little bit of epoxy/sugru to make it fit the way you want).
I mean if you can follow this video along and actually make a mask, you shouldn't have too much trouble incorporating some lenses.
If you're still unsure - there's a pretty in-depth video on Stan Winston School site... Bruce D Mitchell made some masks that incorporated goggles... but the process/materials he used are different.
czcams.com/video/Su4KAtkODhE/video.html something similar to how they do the eyes for this skull... but instead with prescription lenses.
Great idea

The hammered copper texture look is amazing! Fantastic masks!
Thanks so much!
Hello from Colorado and Distortions! Good job on your channel growth!
Thanks very much!
Awesome!! This really made me want to get into casting. Thanks Bill and Nick! (and Brit and team)
very cool end result!
one click is not enough likes - fantastic - brilliant metallic effect, but that bone texture and paint is sublime. Welldone Bill and Nick
Aw thanks very much!
Your videos are exceptionally entertaining and informative. Thank you
The hammered texture looks amazing, I love the finished masks, great work guys!
Thank you so much!
Great work, I've been wanting to get into mask casting for a while, really interesting and you make it look so easy. I've been a artist with pencils and paper for a while but wanted to make a drawing I did of a deer skull into a mask , kinda like Nick's. Thanks for the help.
The details are insane. 👍
that light tarnished copper, LOVE It!
Great video.... thanks. AWESOME masks.
Those look incredible!
Thanks very much!
Very cool project, awesome results
Thanks so much!
Outstanding! I love how when you started out in the last video you were planning on doing something similar to each other, then Bill veered off into a different look that just gave you more techniques to explore and more variety in the results. Win win.
Thanks! =D
Great stuff. Thanks guys.
Great pair of videos and you're both great artists. I'm planning my first mask and then come across you guys. Thanks for all the tips!
Thank you so much!
that came out looking pretty cool. Props!
Thanks so much!
It be cool if a bone batman mask was made, I love watching your videos
absolutely sick
So awesome, i have been waiting all week for this! Fantastic guys!!! So helpful. Can't wait to try it out myself.
Hurray! Enjoy. =D
On my work break watching this and These mask and the whole process is awesome.

They look amazing :D

Thanks very much!
super nice job guys!!!! stoked to try that cold casting metal finishing soon!!
Thank you!
Great stuff lads.
Many thanks!
Every time the metal-edged clear ruler comes out, I'm jealous.
Thank You for this! I am making my own mask and have been researching all these methods and this was the Best video on the subject so far!
That's perfect! Have fun. =D
Outstanding and enjoyable tutorial, thanks so much guys...
You're so very welcome!
Really cool stuff guys, I might have to try this out sometime
That is too damn cool man you guys out did yourselves on this TOTALLY
Thank you kindly!
I like a lot these videos with Nick
Great Content! Thanks for producing this video. Cheers!
You're welcome. =D
You Guys work well together keep it going TFS G :)
the rusted affect looks so good
Doesn't it?! =D
This is definitely the content I signed up for! Thanks so much for this - I can't wait to try this in the future! 👍
We're so glad you enjoyed it! Share what you make with us on Twitter: twitter.com/chinbeard
Sculpting and casting masks looks like so much fun! Hopefully someday I can try it 😂
It's a delight! Give it a shot!
This is just the tutorial I needed. I have been trying to make my own masters in fusion 360 but this seems like fun as well!
So glad it's helping you out!
These are some seriously beautiful pieces. Now I want to make something like this for myself.
Go for it!
"It's a good bake". Jolly well done. :)
We hoped the "Male Judge" would approve!
I adore this whole process, I want to sculpt and mold and cast but I don't do enough to justify getting all the stuff you need XD
You can always start simple and small!
I'm very inspired by your work on this video and I'm thinking on making my own clay sculpture masks awesome job
Fantastic! Share what you make with us on Twitter: twitter.com/chinbeard
this was so darn satisfying
Thanks! =D
Really love your videos ✌️👌 Thank you!!
You're so welcome!
I should have waited for part two haha! My dad and I used plaster for the mold as a one-use thing. This is a far better system, albeit far more expensive. I also used a mix of fiberglass and bondo because I wanted it to be armored. This is a great prop way though and I cant wait to try it!
Once you use silicone to make molds like this you'll never go back. It's so good!
nice work!
Thanks very much!
I LOVE THOSE!!!
Thank you!
O M G ! These are SO awesome!
Loving all these collabs lately! Glad I subscribed when I did.
We're glad to have you here!
These masks are cool as hell omfg
Very sweet!
Thanks so much for the advice on longer (fang-like) teeth-even though y'all didn't sculpt them! I've been agonizing over how to cast a mask i've been working on for months now, and I never had the thought to just cast the teeth separately! Motivation renewed!
Huzzah! Sometimes it's the most effective way to cast something complex.
Punished Props Academy how would you attach them after you’ve cast both pieces separately, in a way that makes it look seamless??
Outstanding
Thanks so much!
LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!
13:17 "We wont knead all that time"
I see what you did there :D
Amazing video and amazing channel and amazing job friend 😀😃👍🤩
Thank you so much!
Amazing 😍. Now I want to do my own 😁
Oh boi... It's getting better and better;D
Great work guys... inspiration is flowing now! ;-)
Can't wait to see what you make!
Wow, the bronze aging and the acid thingy worked so f*cking nicely. I'm really impressed with this.
Pretty bankers, right?! =D
0:32 Nick's logo is Death Gun, I love it
It's just an example of something he's made, not actually his logo :)
@@punishedprops Still cool though.
" *GET OUUUTTT!* " #TeamCrunchyPeanutButter
Perfectly cool
Thanks much!
I love the intro hahahahaha, Great work as always Bill and team, much love from Maltese in London, England !!
Thanks very much!
this proses would be great for all kinds of stuff. like you could make belt buckels, parts for prop guns and so much more. ty you guys for showing us this. I've watched it more than a few times.
Please more stuff with silicon molding 😁
Absolutely! In case you've missed any of the previous videos, here's everything we have on molding and casting: punishedprops.com/how-to-make-a-mold/
loved this series. I really need to make my first mold, I know you always link to the materials - so I have no excuse! You wonderful son of a gun you give me no excuses! ;) Why you are awesome BTW
Get on it! Can't wait to see what you make!
The beginning of that video was the best ha ha ha. 24:23 brilliant!
Excellent video, guys! I'm on vacation, and haven't watched any videos for a week, but I made an exception here. ;)
Thanks so much! =D
lol you were grabbing those mold supplies like they were going out of creation.
That dough is really cool! Solid tip (ehhh? get it? I'll go to my room.)
This was informational, thanks as always guys! :D
You're most welcome!
I loved the metal texture on the robot like mask.
Thanks! It was super fun to sculpt. =D
that bone mask is sick
Team Crunchy PB for life!
That intro is my inner me every time I visit Bentley Advanced Materials. I just want all the things!
It's so hard not to grab it all!
Soo cool! Kind of overwhelmed with the amount of steps - mixing all the epoxies, powder. I plan on making a mask and scanning it with photogrammetry software and polish it up in blender. Then 3D print it!
Your guys method is way more fun and hands on though!
You can do it!
LMAO that cat paw! :v btw great results!
BEST MOLD EVER !!!
A W E S O M E, makes me want to run to the shop to buy all the needed stuff. If only knew where I can get all the products in Belgium (EU).
Write me a grocery list boys because I’m hooked. Never done any sculpting or anything at all like this but I want to.
Thank you so much for this video! I've been wanting to start making mask and weapons for some extra money and this really helped me out because I didn't know what to do after the sculpting! Your videos really come in handy and i'm definitely subscribing!
Also did no one else notice the cat paw? I guess it was handing a helping paw
I will have to use the cold casting on the Darth Nihilus mask that I make once I do a version 2 of the mold. I have found that a two part jacket mold works a lot better on the half face masks. When I built mine I removed the clay wall so that the jacket/mother mold can undercut the rebound 25. This way it locks the silicone in and you don’t need to use clamps to lock your edges. I am an avid watcher of your channel and love that you respond to questions on Twitter, I’m @thedravencorvus. Thank you and I will see you in the next build.
That's a fantastic way to do it! =)
Oh forgot... Great pair of videos.
Awesome vid, was wondering how masks were done, plus this video was uploaded 2 days before my birthday haha
Heck yeah! Thanks so much for watching :)
This reminded me of The life of death short film
I think making some of the masks from Skyrim would be pretty epic
We made the dragon priest masks a while back! czcams.com/video/87thd9Ma2Vs/video.html
I use 100 % window silicone for casting and sprayfoam insulation (great-stuff) for my mother molds....flexible and durable and cheeep .
One thing I have to say, the beginning is literally every single artist in a art store. "Mine, mine, mine"
Agreed.
@@punishedprops it's as equally terrifying as funny, when you see a group of artist scrambling over supplies like seagulls from Nemo.
that thumb nail is something my skyrim character would wear.
im like "dam jerfonski that skull would looks badass on you while killing a dragon."
Aaaaaawsome!
This made me remember a scene in Batman Begins. China probably made 10,000 order of these mask with similar process.
Moldy goodness 😁

I LOVE that Tiffany Green from Sculpt Nouveau. My FAVORITE oxidizer by far!
Amazing.
The way they look at each other, tension..
MrBimbles SonofDimbles yes it seems like they have a past tension between each other and are trying to mend the holes. He’s like I’m the master at creating masks you just create props so let me speak.
It's alright, you can't be expected to get along with everyone, as long as you behave decent all is well.
sexual tension ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
