  • Who is the Russian President, and what does he want with Ukraine?
Vladimir Putin is the President of Russia, and has been the country's leader for more than 22 years.
He grew up in an area which is now St Petersburg. His political career began when he and his family moved to Moscow in 1996, and he quickly became an important political figure.
The BBC's Ros Atkins looks at Putin's life and his world view - and how they influence the decision he took this week.

He has a philosophy similar to Trump's: Your own nation first. I agree with that. Each country should look out for its own interests. (As far as the Russia/Ukraine conflict: Ukraine was a Russian territory for hundreds of years. If they wanted to separate, that's fine. UNTIL they suddenly decide they want Western money and want to join NATO. Sorry, but, NO. You're on the Russian border and you were a former part of Russia---then you're not going to get Western money without a fight. Zelensky made a very big error here---he was obviously very unversed in the local geopolitical history.

As for the Russian nation, it became a genuine drama. Tens of millions of our co-citizens and co-patriots found themselves outside Russian territory. Tell it to the anti-war people. Ukrainian lives matter, so why not Russian lives? Ukraine is a sovereign state and Russia has no right to intervene, but if Ukraine joins NATO and Russia's interests in the Black Sea suffer, NATO can directly deploy missiles in Ukraine. And Ukraine has no sovereignty at all. It is a country controlled by the US. Second, how many pro-American rebels has Ukraine killed? But I sympathize with the suffering of innocent Ukrainians who are paying for an ignorant government
In fact, there were four air strikes around the world on February 24:
    1. Israeli air Force strikes Syrian army.
    2. Saudi Air Force strikes Civilians in Yemen.
    3. The United States bombed Somalia.
    4. Russia launched airstrikes on Ukrainian military installations.
Four air strikes, the first three unknown, the fourth well known; The first three were glorified, and the fourth was called a pig. Why is that?
    1. Economically, the west is strong and the east is weak, but the control of public opinion is still the same.
    2. The West controls the discourse system and their mouths are bigger.
    3. The Western media chose to play dead en masse for their own bombing; Russia, on the other hand, is carpet-bombed, dug up and covered by the Western media.
It's a battle of perceptions, with the Western media hyping Russia's invasion of Ukraine but not talking about NATO's deception of Russia. NATO promised never to expand eastward, but it has broken that promise again
Plus, there was a war in Ukraine, and didn't the US agree to provide full support? And then what?
Sanctions on Russia? Is that all?
Why is the US doing this?
America's main aim is not to stop wars
    1. The war will benefit the United States the most, because European funds will flow back to the United States
    (2) The US can create tension and dump a lot of arms. (3) It can isolate Russia, which in turn will make NATO more united and drag down the Russian economy
Ostensibly a war between Russia and Ukraine, but actually a war between Russia and THE US-led NATO, Ukraine is just a chessboard. Great powers do not engage in war directly, but ask their younger brother to deal with them

May I ask if you care to know the fact that the Second Amendment in the USA was historically put in place in the American Constitution, mainly to encourage slaughtering indigenous Native American people, in order to take over their homeland.
Moreover, the hidden mega genocide of indigenous Native Americans, and their population in Continents of America 500 yrs ago was around 15 millions, while European population in Europe was around 25 millions.
Today, Native Americans population is 15 million, while the European population, in the Continents of America + Europe, is a staggering 'TWO BILLIONS'!
For instance, 200 years ago here in the USA, around 3 million Germans came, and now there are 65 millions German-Americans; while 150 years ago, around 2 millions Irish came, and now there are 45 million Irish-Americans. While 500 years ago there were estimated to be 5 to 6 millions indigenous Native Americans in the USA, before Christopher Columbus arrived, today there are only around 2 million indigenous Native Americans survived.
Imagine this scenario, if Native American people cross the Atlantic, invade and Colonize Europe, and slaughter most Europeans, and put the remaining populations in tiny reservations, for 500 long years. How would Europeans feel about it? Think about it.
All they need is their beloved motherland back, the lands that their ancestors' forebears had lived through thick and thin, endured through hardships and all for generations.
Besides, indigenous Native Americans in Colonized lands of Anglo British, Spaniard and others are more of the same. Kill the indigenous Natives and whoever is left, marginalize them and create artificial poverty, once that poverty becomes crime and drinking, the media points to the poor and blames them to continue to stigmatize the 'other' community, scumbags, etc.
Amazing fact that Indigenous Natives had built such great civilizations as Mayan, Inca and Aztec without outside help, and all from scratch, and all on their own, since they had been cut off from the rest of the world for twenty thousand years. In other words, they actually are great and proud people.
Imagine what it would be like today if Native Americans had possessed some sort of nuclear weapons to defend themselves, and their beloved motherlands from invaders Colonizers? The answer is they would still have their own beloved motherlands, plus their population comparable to that of the European population.
In my humble opinion, it's about time to decolonize the Colonized lands, and return it to rightful owners Native American people. Remember, notorious global cardinal crimes the West has committed, and benefited a great deals, such as Slavery & Colonialism had long been over, why on earth is this another notorious Colonization still lingering on, may I ask?
