This cam is made for hydrolic lifters, this means the lobe has a shape to put pre-tension on hydrolic lifters. How is it running on mechenical lifters? Love your build man!!
It doesn't matter if we use mechanical of hydraulic lifters, the cam doesn't know that and that's why you need to do the setup for the mechanical lifters to leave a bit distance between lifters shims and camshaft, other than that everyone use them and as long as you do the correct setup it should be fine.
Very good video!! One question, since you had the arp studs, did you have to wear out the camshaft supports?
Thanks, no they are all stock the arp's fit just fine. All of the arp kits are made for bolt on, no modifications.
@@WRCgarage Thanks, someone told me that you have to modify them because otherwise they don't fit well.
No mate, if you buy them as kit from any website made for 1.9 tdi pd they are all done for bolt on.

Do the pistons have to be machined/clearanced to prevent piston and valve contact?
Not necessary, i did it just because i will use nitrous injection and that's a must , otherwise if you stay just with diesel you dont have to.
my 1.9 arl engine is stock now ,but im thinking to mounted it because the oem it's dead. will it worth?
...thinking in bigger preparation in a very next future ..or without to go joined to bigger turbo , firad etc it's not gonna work?
Anything its good and will improve the power but if you go to far you have to change the internals aswell otherwise will blow up.
People running 350bhp on stock pistons and rods. How much hp is too much do you think?
With this camshaft do you get lumpy idle when engine is running? I take it the lift is 9.8mm
Hello mate, i don't know what means lumpy idle, but i had no problems by now with it, the car is still on rings break in so i don't know yet how will work.

Measurement of intake and exhaust pads, can you say?
I haven't write them down but they are between 2 and 3 mm i think, anyway if you need to do this job just get a set of bigger ones and you will be able to grind them at specified thickness after...

@WRCgarage How do you get these to work, do you have to use the old lifters and cut them to fit in the top or can you buy lifter heads. The ones I looked at have a hole and recess in the top
@bradtyson Check my video with lifters setup, you need to buy new shims for them with the diameter that you have inside the lifters head and thickness about 3mm, then you will have to grind them individually util they reach the clearance you want exactly as you see in my video.
If im not wrong, they are 31 mm diameter for your lifters, i let you a ebay link to see what you need

I don't know if they are more types but i think they are all made from a special material.

Ciao, its a camshaft from pipercams , nothing to special, just different gradation and valve lift

I don't know for sure but they are good for tuning !

You have to remap the ecu if you use one of this camshaft as they are different duration and lift .

Salut, nu il am manualul de AXR dar toate sunt identice la specificatiile șuruburilor din ce stiu, deci fara probleme cu suruburi noi le poti face exact la fel.
