- Dr. Jordan B. Peterson sits down with entrepreneur, U.S. representative, and 2024 presidential candidate Dean Phillips. They discuss his now-suspended presidential campaign, the monolithic opposition he faced getting platformed, the reality of President Joe Biden’s age, the core issues facing America right now, and the comparative pathologies of Republicans and Democrats respectively.
Dean Phillips is an American businessman and congressman, serving as the U.S. representative of Minnesota’s 3rd District since 2019. Phillips has started and run several companies over the years (Such as Talenti Gelato) and served as CEO of his family's liquor business, Phillips Distilling Co, for 12 years (2000-2012). Phillips ran as the only Democrat against Joe Biden in the 2024 election. On March 6th, 2024, he suspended his campaign.

His daughter wasnt afraid of Trump. She was afraid of all the baloney democrats had told her about Trump. There is a Big Difference here.
Proof that it works! Americans NEED to reach out to these communities and dispel the lies and manipulation or they might as well serve their country on a silver platter and save yourselves the sweat blood and tears.
right!!!!!! his daughter at 16 was already brainwashed by the Left and MSM, so this guy failed as a parent.
I was too, and then over time the game became so clear.
His daughter think that she can be sexually compatible with another woman, denying the definition of a woman, ergo she's utterly delusional, maybe even narcissistic. He failed as a father there and this isn't a personal attack, it's a statement to hopefully avoid that mistake for others.
The question is if it is true or not. Unfortunately, most are true.
Had you told your daughter the truth about Donald Trump she would have no reason to be fearful as a gay person.
Surely the correct response to the 'fear' of your 16yo daughter is to tell her to get a grip, not to base a political career on the emotion of an adolescent?
@@NickBaldock-st7jqCorrect and well said
It's crazy to me that his problem with Trump was his "character". No, that's BS. The problem was that it was politically incorrect to accept Trump as president because "democrats" are communists. "What you say may be true comrade, but it hurts the regime and so it is incorrect, politically" was a soviet weapon of ideological purging, and now it's the same to these neo-marxists. LGBTQ are the revolutionary vanguard, and THAT is why she was crying. She was claiming victimhood as a good marxist does.
It's politically incorrect to state the obvious truth that Biden is both malicious and sunsetting. The neo-marxist ideological purge known as "wokeness" won't allow him to say it or antifa will be at his door tomorrow.
He managed to twist the ideological barbarism of the trans surgeries into an attack on capitalism.
Stories like this show how easily brainwashed people are. There is no evidence of racism or homophobic behavior from Trump.
The powers in charge have created a massive amount of fear and paranoia around him. We see nazis, racists, men hating women, women hating men, etc all over. These are phantoms created in the minds of the left voters to instill fear and control.
Exactly DJT is the first US president to enter office being pro gay marriage that fear she felt strictly came from left wing propaganda
This guy lost me at, “Biden is a good man. I think he is a man of integrity and decency, and most importantly empathetic” Hah! Couldn’t be farther from the truth! 😒
That's because you've been brainwashed by rightwing media and conned by a used car salesman with a fake mustache, holding a shiny object.
He can't go against the party he is a part of.
That's because you've been brainwashed by rightwing media and conned by a used car salesman wearing a fake mustache, hold a shinny object.
My thoughts exactly!
Same… that’s why I came to the comments section to see what the deal was 😂
1:34:36 Every time Jordan Peterson asks when does the Left go too far…
Without fail, EVERY Democrat doesn’t answer the question directly, dives into the weeds, and mostly bring up the Right Wing.
EVERY. SINGLE. TIME!
I think of that often, Jordan said that a long time ago when we were at a tipping point and unfortunately it's way beyond 'too far" now.
@@laro802way, way waay too far. BUT there's hope🙏 People seem to be waking up in larger numbers across the western world. Jordan Peterson's interview with Michael Shellenberger discussing Shellenberger's new book gave me more hope.
It's a discussion that can't be denied or ignored. Where it affects our children, we're not that NICE or TOLERANT
John I'm an Australian white male and every time I debate with a left leaning follower.
Wether it be Immigration, Environmental or financial structure of our Federal and State government they come back with one sentence commentary, like White Privilege never debate just dismiss. I am a believer in conciliation so for the left to avoid the debate it will never allow meeting in the middle and move forward as nations.
Aussie Jeff
He answers it with a terrible analogy too. "It's like pornography: you know when it's gone too far when you see it". All pornography is too far, all of it is bad. There is no "you'll know it when you see it". We're always told how bad the new generations are but the ones before us are so pathetic they can't see they're the ones who brought us all these issues today. "You know it when you see it" is a cop out and makes no sense because you aren't drawing any lines when we need lines drawn.
@@coraleefarrell1066 Good! Sometimes not being nice is a better gift.
Wait a minute. He was disturbed that Trump beat Hillary cause he believes Trump is of bad character? And Hillary had an acceptable character?
Hillary is bad too, but Trump has the rape issue, decades of fraud, dodging the draft, and the epstein connection
He's towing the party line.
My thoughts exactly.
...and his daughter had some irrational fear a day following the election.
Yeah that part made me laugh, like really? Trump is an a hole but Hillary is straight up evil. 😂
Like the previous Democratic guests, this guy is NOT as moderate as he claims. He is smart enough to know the difference yet switches the definition of equality and equity. He also says he is NOT for taking opportunities away while advocating for special treatment for other people. Too much of life has zero-sum aspects, like number of available jobs, so yes, he does want to discriminate against people…only certain people. I’m tired of the word games. 😒
I'm only five minutes in, and already the alphabet virtue. He makes me think of the Peterson/McGilquist discussion on the right and left brain function. Definitely a lefty.
@@janetschmitt6760I have no problem with him being a lefty. I’m just tired of the dishonesty. Don’t call yourself a “moderate” when advocating for equity, which is far-left and NOT the same thing as equality.
He knows what equity actually means.
@@John-ej5jk I do, he just got done saying he wants tax money for wall street on every baby.
@@John-ej5jkHe's either ignorant or being dishonest but you shouldn't use words that you can't define as part of your policy positions. I expect to hear this more from politicians going forward. it's a shibboleth for people on the right/left but to most common people it doesn't make a difference. I wonder if the term will become more defined or just become a fudge word going forward?
In other words, he's a freaking LIAAR!
First, the US is a constitutional republic, not a democracy. Second, he lost credibility when he said Biden is a man of integrity. Laughable.
Absolutely my thoughts and at which point I couldn't listen any longer.
Don't get pedantic about the word "democracy". Very few people, if any, who refer to our country, or any other countries in the West, as a democracy, mean anything like the assembly of ancient Athens when they use the word. They mean a country where free elections serve as the basis for the government. That's the meaning the word has had for generations.
But your point about his comment on Biden is well-taken. Phillips is a party man. Biden is not now and never was a man of integrity. Biden has lied his entire public life. Biden is vicious, nasty. incompetent and stupid man. Always has been. His senility just pulls these qualities into sharper focus.
But Joe Biden is the most moral and principled Catholic ever to wear the name!
He served in Congress. As a REPRESENTATIVE...and he still thinks we're a democracy.
SAD
Exactly, I was going to write the very same thing.
Dean Phillips's selective ignorance to facts on a multiplicity of levels shines ever so brightly.
14:03 the southern border was not an oversight, it was intentional
The republicans intentionally blocked the bipartisan bill that Biden had that would literally handle the border. There was a republican at the head of the bill😭.
Yeah, the 100+ executive orders overturned by Biden pertaining to the Border were just accident. He didn’t mean to sign them. */sarcasm
Yep, this is where I checked out, on top of his saying there is nothing wrong with that senile, pathological liar Joe Biden.
Mayorkas is so bought off and paid for it's a complete travesty.
Absolutely agree. My 8 yo grandson could figure out those numbers.
Despite the fact I disagree with Dean Philips' politics, I think his best point really is the fact that there is no longer competition. Not even a Presidential debate!
Sadly, he is a straight-forward Democrat Politician, giving a straight-forward Democrat Politician interview. I listened to the point where he started talking about the "long tail of slavery".
Yeah, which _his_ party wanted to perpetuate. The lack of self-awareness and history...
i didn't get that far.
@@user-bn4jk8gn1k I only got that far by conscious effort - you need to listen to the other side, y'know? But there was nothing of value to be had.
"I'm a Democrat because someone told me I am." Please...
An incredibly painful experience forcing myself to listen to this bloke in the hope I might hear something spill out of the mouth of a Democrat that was truthful that I could take hope from. It was all in vain
Booze is the go-to industry of a declining society. No surprise he as a Democrat is involved in that.
@@edwardcullen1739yeah this is straight garbage is Jordan gonna school this delusional idiot or should I call a quits now
Once he said FJB is a man of integrity and mentally fit, i had to cut it off.
Yep that guys a politician if I’ve ever seen one
I find it hilarious how at 23:03 you could interpret his grandmother saying he was a democrat because he was ignorant (just like democrats) as opposed to because his family history.
Grandma:”dean, are you a democrat or a republican?
Dean Phillips: “grandma, i dont even know what democrats and republicans are.”
Grandma: ”well, that answers it, you’re a democrat.”
23:03
Lol
Ralph from the Simpsons lmfao
Yeah, that gravy that, subsequently, he doesn't appear to have questioned it...
Great take. Didn't think of it like that but it's probably true
Jbp - "I've never had any Democrat answer the question when does the left go to far"
This guy just eager to also not answer the question
"One of the penalties of refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors."
PLATO
When this guy says he's interested in wealth transfers but one's that only help some without negatively impacting others shows his inability to think about even shallow trade offs.
Jordan is a blessing to humanity.
Self-awareness isn't Dean Phillips' strength.
Most underrated comment. 😂
He seems to have his head buried firmly in the sand on some pretty important issues that's for sure
Neither is intelligence or discernment of any kind
LACKING in DISCERNMENT, like ALL Lefties
13:50: "Is he (Biden) facing cognitive decline? I do not believe so at all."
Well, that's about all I need to hear from this guy. Glad this was early in the discussion.
Me too.
haha thats the moment I turned it off as well
Yep
I can't believe Jordan is even entertaining this idiot what a waste of time
Get a freaking grip. At least he’s not fumbling on his words like Trump. Nor he’s doing finger rocket launches with hideous sound effects.
Right out of the gate, Dean demonstrated that he was wrong about personal character being the most important aspect of a national leader's effectiveness. If that were the case, Jimmy Carter and Herbert Hoover would have been two of the greatest American presidents of the 20th Century instead of two of the worst. What Dean misses is that policy and its execution are the key characteristics for greatness. On those criteria, Trump was our best president since Ronald Reagan. As a nonpolitician, Trump understood what needed to be done. He made policy campaign promises that more than any president in living memory he actually kept, probably the most important of which was appointing three US Supreme Court justices who adjudicate cases on the basis of the written text of the Constitution, not some personal political biases that they may happen to hold. I don't care nearly as much about Trump's table manners and his sometimes boorish behavior as I do about his government policy initiatives, and I strongly support him in his campaign for reelection.
The only thing I heard was: I’m exceptionally rich, I am a terrible father, and I want to impose my ideals on everyone.
Democrats in a nutshell!
I respect the guy for coming on first and foremost. He’s saying far too many things which simply aren’t true and I don’t know what the cause of that is. I don’t know what his intention was: he’s likely trying to say little enough by way of controversy to satisfy any democrat voters. I wish political people would drop the political speeches on these podcasts and say their actual thoughts, there’s no point of coming on unless you plan on being at least presentable authentic.
I can never decide if these people or misinformed or attempting to misinform.
Yes when he said that the representatives in DC thing equity means x and it's the divisive machine pushing the other is crap. Wake up mister.
@@heatherduncan4945 what?
"saying far too many things which simply aren’t true" YUP. That's because all Dems rely heavily on the main three tactics: LIE-cheat-Steal
How very performative, Phillips. And how platitudinous.
Sorry Dean, FJB, TRUMP 2024💯🇺🇸❤️
Had to close the video the second the guest said "Joe Biden is a good man." Objectively false...try again.
That’s when I had to shut it off too!
You're not missing much, seems like he just joined the show to gaslight and give political bee Jay's to the cult "Democrats are the bestest ever"
Thank you to all who commented. You saved me 1h 45 minutes. ❤😊
No... he had great things to say! Please go back and listen. Yes, he sounded stupid when speaking of POTUS but other than that he offered a sane and challenging perspective that caused a lot of reflection and thought
@susieedminster3822 timestamp or it didn't happen. He started awful and I'm not wasting my time if it's just another politician lying to my face.

Yeesh. This guy really just called out rampant government spending and advocated for giving every baby born in this country $5k in the same conversation. Wha? And he says redistribution doesn't require taking something from anyone? Wha??? That's literally the definition of redistribution? I didn't disagree with everything he said, but he contradicted himself and dodged Jordan's question of when the left goes too far one too many times to make him credible.
I think the idea would be that you spend the 5k, the kids get out the 20k or whatever he thinks it'll grow to in 18 years, and then you no longer have to spend the 20k you might be giving young people. In theory, a nice idea, but in practice it probably doesn't work for a lot of reasons.
My ears pricked up on that one too. Pretty sure putting money aside & investing it wisely for a child's future is the job & sole responsibility of those who chose to be parents
@@rawgasmiclove I don’t think he realizes how his socialism can be read into between the lines.
I give Dean credit for going to a Trump rally as no Democrat has ever done that. He debunked the msm about Trump supporters ✌️
well they actually have gone to trump rallys.....but when they leave, they leave as a trump supporter. its a beautiful thing.
go to a biden rally and you just leave feeling angry, confused, and possibly trans.
and yet if he were invited on to any of the l/w talkshows, he would 100% repeat the lie that Trumpers are evil racists. My guess: he's only staying that here in the JP interview
It's not about age. It's about functionality.
Equity of outcome leads to the failure of all.
Wish he would have asked about the politically biased maltreatment Dr Scott Jensen received from Minnesota Board of Medicine when he ran for governor.
I went back and watched the remainder of the interview. After Phillips’ self-serving monologue, Jordan did a good job of asking difficult questions and raised many excellent points. I think Phillips, like most modern Democrats speaks with a forked tongue. He benefited from a stable family, religious faith and a strong culture but the party he represents is doing everything to destroy the traditional nuclear family and the Judeo-Christian values that created his country. The left of centre parties in western democracies have been highjacked by radicals on the far left and deserve to be turfed from office. The Democratic Party sorely needs moderates to show courage and speak out against the neo-Marxism that seems to have captured its soul.
My apologies to Jordan for my first critical review.
Great comment, totally agree
God protect us from politicians who're trying to redistribute opportunity. Most of them cant even build and maintain proper roads.
💯
Lost me at "JB is a good man"
Thanks Jordan. I cant tell you how important your voice is in these times. Much appreciated. Dint forget to take time for you and your family. God bless you
He reminds me of Justin Trudeau
Not quite as oily, but absolutely a plastic politician.
I am so frustrated sitting here wanting an interview with RFK Jr, only to know CZcams has pulled what already exists. What a massive pile of shame for you, duncetube
Yuk. Drops into politician so easily. My grandmothers x and rose …. My crying gay daughter…. Please
Yeah this guy is so full of shit, Donald Trump made my gay daughter cry, blah blah blah. Biden has absolutely no cognitive decline. The southern border was an oversight and definitely not completely intentional.
Not a single honest politician left in this country. Do these people think they can keep getting away with this level of lying? They are so arrogant and narcissistic
I listen to Jordan and a sense him more sharpened than ever. Love it. Thanks for every thing Jordan. For ever!
Just as a completely off topic side note because he just mentioned, Mt Sinai, - their leading Lung Center saved my Moms life by identifying and treating an immune deficiency that was complicating an existing lung condition and admitting her to an experimental medication program. If they are reading this thank you - now, back to finishing another outstanding interview by Jordan Peterson.
I see a democrat on his first stages of waking up. I wish him luck on his journey from drone to human
… he’s got a ways to go.
Sadly.
His "debates" on the Ukraine war were brutal to watch. He should stick to comedy.
Joy to the world
At a half hour in, he's still establishing lefty credentials. Hope Jordan smacks him around a little more coming up.
"Joe biden isnt in cognitive decline"
So glad to listen to a discussion of important issues without the disparaging interruptions of two people who talk over each other. JBP is an excellent listener who can ask and respond to a speaker with clarity and intelligence.
MN is the Democrat hellhole which has the best fishing. Other than that, its to be avoided like all the rest. IL, NY, and CA.
Plus it's either too cold or too hot. Mosquitoes the size of birds.
STAY TF AWAY!!!
Hey, I live in Minnesota. How dare you tell truth about us. The leftists who have seized our metropolitan areas have turned our state into a miniature commieformia shithole.
Also WA & OR. Too bad you can’t take the eastern half of those two states and make one red state.
The lakes really are the one good thing that Minnesota has going for it.
I don't think he realizes what is really going on here and in the world. Some of this is nice sentiments but doesn't fit now. 😢
Or he does understand and is trying to coax you to get on the train car?
Hello Doc. Peterson, have you ever considered interwieving Schwerpunkt? He's a PhD in Medieval warfare but he's quite proficient the transcendental meaning of European Tradition. His work struck me and I think that your interaction could boost dramatically Transatlantic conservatism.
38:52 Made my skin crawl. And he refused to address it. He can’t see the problem with it. He can’t see the damned insect laying eggs in his own sanctified flesh. Even as they rip forth.
I tried. I really did. I don’t think I can listen to much more of this guy talk. I’d be wrapping up the conversation by now. Perhaps I’ll listen for your input. But no one can separate gold that isn’t there. Which… Is exactly the issue as a whole. The man holds trinkets as Gods, and scrimshaw as Scripture. Thinks it will do anything for his Children. Thinks it will do anything for Minorities. Thinks the substance of his Life is built of that 2 Ply. Or he claims too.
I think what it actually is, is that he avoids the deep questions. And has for so long he doesn’t realize the substance of what he was given. Now he’s thinking he should wake up, but has never opened his eyes. Walking around saying he sees, and proclaiming he knows the shape of things. Yet he is just trying to remember how it was described to him by others.
This isn’t an accusation in the way you might think. It’s a summarization of the sense I get out of his presentation. I could get into the exact problems I have with each portion of conversation, but I have doubts that it is of any purpose here.
Always enjoy reasonable and articulate discourse.
Were you watching something else because all I saw was a guy trying to sound reasonable when he's just another f****** Lefty apologist. The executive branch under Joe Biden has failed the number of things but they're a bang-up group of guys and Joe biden's got a lot of integrity and a lot of empathy. He has declined in his competency or cognition but he has a difficulty that's totally different. Apparently runaway crime runaway inflation a s*** economy is preferable to a bull market low unemployment peace with our enemies no foreign wars and the fact that we were showing strength militarily and politically around the globe negotiating Abraham accords all while the media and the Democrats in Congress and in the states did everything they could to lie about him to go so far as to Framingham do you want to talk about constitutional crisis the Constitution doesn't exist for these bozos and you know what Merrick Garland talked a good game before he was the US attorney and now he's no different than a member of the KGB without.our constitutional rights have been trampled and the idea that Trump spent more than Biden is b******* the majority of the money that Trump spent was on covid which the Democrats and the Chinese Communist party are responsible. Fauci and his cohorts were working directly in concert with them in gain a function research in fact fauci predicted this pandemic before we had it and now he's predicting another one
Dean Phillips is a hack who is detached from reality
"He's a good man. I think he's a man of integrity and decency, and most importantly empathy." It seems like this guy is willfully blind. He doesn't want to upset "his party." That is a good description of Jordan! But Joe Biden?? What are other peoples thoughts on this? Does Dean's opinion of Joe Biden make you immediately suspicious of him?
Everything about this guy is suspicious, from the first minute.
I’m an independent (leaning left) - for me personally, no, that is not what makes me suspicious of him. There are other things though for sure.
Perceptions and opinions about people are subjective. Look at Democrat opinions on Trump’s character, then look at Republican opinions on Biden’s character. Have to drown out the noise and realize everyone’s perceptions don’t have to match yours 100%, they still may have something valuable to offer or to say.
@@bdbznar that’s a great point. And it makes me realize that, although I am firm on my opinion that Joe Biden is corrupt, I do sometimes slip into that way of thinking where my opinions of him are no longer my own and I’m just saying what other people are saying. (Which there’s nothing inherently wrong with saying or believing what other people say or believe, but it’s when you do it blindly and you become a mouthpiece for an ideology that it takes a bad turn.) Anyways, thanks from an independent who is all over the map politically and thanks for keeping me in-check. I do not want to go anywhere NEAR ideology! Jordan Peterson has scared me away from that.
@@bdbznarokay I’m just gonna be honest. I just typed up a long response to your reply (positive! I think you have a great point) and then sent it away, and then came back to check and it’s nowhere to be found. I don’t know if CZcams glitched or what but I gotta go right now but when I get home later I’ll retype it 😂
I got a surprisingly good laugh when he said that. I don't think I'll be finishing this podcast
I’m from Minnesota. I appreciate this discussion. I think we absolutely need more straightforward discussions. Like some else pointed out, at 1:34:36, when Jordan asked when has the left gone too far…the squirming said it all…it’s never too far would be a truthful statement. Take any issue; the border, LGBTQ issues, use of pronouns, the environment. Even a highly intelligent person like Jordan can’t get a straight forward answer.
Yep. "Go farther!" is the eternal cry of the intersectional grievance grifter.
I will never not get excited hearing that intro! ❤
Or if you speak English and not double negative... You'll always be happy to hear the intro. ❤
"I do believe in the redistribution of opportunity. That does not necessarily mean *away* from other people. It simply means incrementally affording it to those who had been denied it for reasons well beyond their control."
Well that sounds like a solid, hypocritical plan you had there, Dean. Despite his claim, he does fit nicely into one particular party.
Dean Phillips: "No Jordan, equity hasn't gone too far, equity hasn't gone too far enough!"
Ugh
This politician comes across as a perfectly pleasant man, but he lost me when he said Biden was a "man of integrity" etc and he wouldn't answer Jordan's question about "when does the Left go too far?". His daughter weeping when Trump got elected in 2016 is a sign of a fragile person who has been brainwashed by social media and legacy media. The Left are such bad losers too, it's just the same here in the UK. RFK Jr and Ron DeSantis gave a better impression when Jordan interviewed them, and Vivek Ramaswamy is clearly very intelligent and one to the watch the future. The western world really needs some non-woke politicians with high IQs.
I want to appreciate that Jordan is true to his words in terms of providing a platform also for opposing opinions and consistent in being champion of free speech and expression
So disappointed ! I thought Konstantine was going to be on!
Me too!
I made it all the way through, painfully, and my final sentiment is "OH, PLEASE!" He's very good at evading and dissembling, and is either scared to death of offending the communist mob, or he didn't understand a word you said about "equality" and "equity." I suspect the former. So you still haven't found one who will answer the question. Not surprising. I knew he wouldn't, even as you were asking. RFK, Jr. is the only politician you've interviewed who didn't annoy me immensely. Even DeSantis, whom I like, was annoying, so please don't do this very often. Oh, and I can tell you the number one reason Trump is so loved, and will win the election if it isn't stolen by underhanded machinations: he neither acts nor talks anything like a politician. And I've never even liked the guy.
" He's very good at evading and dissembling" KEY PART of the Resume of a Leftist pol. Bernie Sandoors is great at that too.
As a lesbian who has denounced the alphabet mafia decades ago. I voted for TRUMP in '16, '20 and will be voting for him in '24. I've gotten more disdain from the left receiving none from the right.
So refreshing to watch these two men listen to and seemingly respect one another.
HOW FCKNG FAR IS TOO FAR DEAN? ANSWER THE QUESTION WITHOUT THE SPEECH!
HOW FAR DEAN?!
HOW FAR?!
Well,but… the republicans.
Every topic is "worth a deeper conversation ". But when, if not now ? Totally unwilling to contend with the inconsistencies placed in front of him .
I would have proudly informed my daughters, gay or not, that Trump cannot and would not ban gays or revoke their rights to be gay.
How can ‘the democracy’ be limited to two candidates? Because it is not behaving as it actually was designed to be: a representative republic. Even this fellow is using a misnomer.
We must risk offending when in pursuit of the truth...your agreeableness is aggravating.
This was my daughter's comment as well. "He's too agreeable and compassionate"
And no, she wasn't crying 😂
It’s so frustrating to listen to well articulated and clear questions being dodged and talked around. I understand he has a position to maintain and he has to toe the party line but it is so inauthentic to listen to. “Where can the left go too far?” … “Well, in my traditional, conservative, religious community we have many rituals that push people to be the best you can be.” Ok. What question did you just hear? The political ducking and weaving is just so frustrating.
JP looks healthier and more composed than ever.
Constitutional Republic, we're not a Democracy.... Huge difference...
Mt. Sinai Hospital was a form of equity?!? What nonsense. Equating the cooperative efforts of many Jews and not acknowledging the disastrous effects of welfare (sold as reparations) on black Americans is dishonest.
They all start going into weird pandering and platitudes when you just ask "when does your side go to far"
"Is there anything your party can do wrong?" basically.
I would rather someone give me neutral or negative feedback rather than give me "empathetic" lip service.
I’m a devout Christian, and although I disagree with Dean Phillips, I admire him and understand his perspective.
I don't like it when someone claims they were born into a political party. If the party system is to work, it has to be a choice at EVERY election. If you are born into a party, its no different then being born to serve a king.
I think Dean tried real hard to try and conflate equity with equality of opportunity. Good conversation.
Not voting for this guy. Sorry.
Jordan Peterson needs to become the prime minister of Canada. He knows what needs to be fixed and he's an amazing leader....
Dean Phillips is an intelligent person with an awareness of inequality that is obvious to those of us whose people have been marginalised.
So, what's your view on abortion? Do they , the babies, get your love of humanity? Since we are all going along to get along and our " president is brimming with empathy. Because the Democrats are running their campaigns on the ability for women to K their innocent children.
1:14:57 "People want to identify with someone who appears to be human," says the politician, struggling to sound convincingly human.
You know how you promote competition? Remove intervention in all facets of government, foster an economy that supports small businesses, offer tax incentives for citizens of the US rather than immigrants, and allow for a true free market to develop naturally without interference. Not only would this promote competition in business, but in government as well, as there would always be something more that could be done in a strive towards a better ideal.
Share far and wide! One of your best political conversations. Thank you both. I would love to see Jordan and others offer the platform discussed here. Bring so-called "opposing" sides together for a real discussion in long form of the crucial topics. One rule: no name calling. Thank you again, and best wishes and blessings.
He still didn't answer the question.
Petersons been crosing the line this year, and to an point this is the best we could ask for if our goals to win the cultural war.
Our ideas must be both spoken, and understood by our leaders, and by us.
Dean isnt an old school Democrat, but hes definitely a better choice than Biden, and definitely better than RFK.
Im here for the best of our nation, and im an independent, didnt vote first two election cycles i could have but i wouldve voted trump for both. Now its definitely Trump a 3rd time, im actually signed up to attend the booths that day. I feel like I i failed my nation not voting especially after 2020. Now we can win this time.
If we can continue to keep up the fractioning of the democrats we can win with maybe a landslide.
Anyone woke up these last 3 years, that even if we think these elections never matter so dont vote that it does matter cause every vote gets counted and just a few votes would gave Trump Georgia and im one of the ones that just didnt go to polls that day.
Agree, not voting is still affecting quite alot. We have to pick the candidate with the best policies, not necessarily the personality that we would like. Policies over personality!
I really enjoyed this conversation because your guest didn't answer as if he was reading a script of answers. It came from the heart, and it made sense.
A single man, of his own free will, adopted and helped this guest. That does not even come close to suggesting that a governing body could do the same en masse.
Nonsense, The %K everyone gets increases the cost of living.
Seems like a decent person who is 100,000% more qualified and suitable to be president than the one who will be.
you don't understand how fucked the country would be if this imbecile became president.... it's terrifying to think for more than 30 seconds about what a disaster that would be.
Thank you for the opportunity to share the thoughts of Dean Phillips.
I'm quite sceptical of people who don't show any sense of passion in a hyper polarised world.
Taking names of all the people who will have egg in their face when RFK Jr is elected.
Man, RFK vs Vivek would be a real contest! Why can't we get real candidates?
Aside from the political stuff, that was an interesting point about how jewish rites of passage are a big factor in their over representation in academia and politics and so on
As a Jew, the description on many levels was just stereotypical. I've looked into my Jewish history at the turn of the 20th Century in Los Angeles. The Jewish community was non-religious, full of socialist ideals, even ran a Eugene Debs summer camp and started a free hospital which became The City of Hope in Duarte, CA. My father and uncle became 13 in the 1930s, neither were bar-mitzvahed. Both my grandfathers lived highly secular lives, even ate pork. There are other factors at work, not just the religious, family structure.
I wish these ppl would stop calling us a “democracy”. We’re not, we’re a “constitutional republic”.
He is a politician but one that is willing to sit down with Peterson for a long form interview. He has to temper and even evade some questions as we would expect. Overall I respect him and his point that all media should be promoting even dialog.
Done watching this nonsense. Pulling the plug at 18:35..see ya. Get some more honest guests please
And again, the unanswered, “When does the Left go too far?”
I’m tired of extremism on both sides. I want a candidate that will bring our country back together… wishful thinking while we are so polarized. I love listening to all points of view as long as they are open minded and able to debate ideas without attacking character.
Thank you Dr. Peterson, I always enjoy your discussions. You are open minded and intelligent in your debates.
How we are so limited in our great country to end up with these two candidates and a so called democratic system who refuses the American people better choices is beyond me! I have voted republican or libertarian most of my life and yet, I would have loved hearing this gentleman in an actual debate, along with other candidates and then decide for myself, not the mainstream media’s commentaries, where to place my vote. We need more younger, intelligent and good hearted politicians given a chance to speak! Thank you for this conversation ❤
I believe that we are so limited in choices, at all levels of government, bc nobody wants the job. Most good people can't stand to be around the political types, the deep statres, etc. The govt has become so corrupt that it keeps good people at bay.
Oh and re the democratic party??? Fully captured by Marxist, malthusian demons. What good person wants to deal with that??
You lie, you lose!....Joe's a great guy, just too old......lmao!!! Stop my sides are splitting.
This guy is full of it. I turned it off as soon as he said that laughable garbage.
every community can play sports,..and sports are ALL about meritocracy. no one cares about your past
I know he has to play the game, but I do respect Dean Phillips for at least having a real conversation. I’ve heard he’s a nice person in the real world from people that have met him.
Be wary, Dean Phillips is duplicitous. (I'm from Minnesota)
