  • Hey guys! Today we are following up on our budget video from 2-3 months ago, fresh off the boat in thailand.
    Now that we've had time to settle in and learn the actual costs of things we'll share them with you!
    It's important to remember that everyone's budget is different and there is no 'one size fits all'. We hope though, you will use this as a guide for what to expect coming to Thailand. Whether to live or holiday, it's all relevant!
    Enjoy the video and let us know what you thought down below!
    Thanks again! Much Love

    Happy New Year. I prefer to leave the door open and put the AC on late afternoon then again throughout the night. Checked my electricity bill in Sydney for a one bedroom apartment - it works out at $80 per month. I know that the juristic office can charge a higher rate.Totally agree with your gym comment. Condos don't really have 'proper' gyms. Paying about B1000 per month is average.

    • @francandsarah
      @francandsarah  Před 6 měsíci +1

      Sheesh! 80 per month in Sydney! You must be all over the usage there!
      Your bill would probably be $10 a month here 😂
      This condo definitely doesn’t! But there’s plenty of options to stay fit here as well if the gym isn’t what you want or need.

    Thanks for the video! Great to hear the Aussie accent!! What about the cost of Visas and/or visa runs? Thanks

    • @francandsarah
      @francandsarah  Před 6 měsíci +2

      Hey mate! It’s nice once in a while!
      Our visa is multiple entry for 6 months. Was 300 Aussie each. The border runs can vary drastically. It all depends on what you want to do and for how long.
      We didn’t include this in the video as it was something unique to us.
      Border bounces can be as cheap as 6000 baht on a minivan to Cambodia. Or as expensive as you want it to be. Would be hard to include an actual figure for that.
      We can include prices of future border runs in future videos if you’d like?
      Happy new year 😊

    thanks for sharing guys , have you found anything more expensive in thailand, not talking about imported food and or alcohol, but things like sun screen, cosmetics, shaving products, cleaning products and or other daily items, cheers and all the best for the new year and hope you can reach 1000 subs soon.

    • @francandsarah
      @francandsarah  Před 6 měsíci +1

      No worries! Hope you had a great new years!
      I’d say most household items are generally cheaper here, unless they are imported. Sunscreen is very expensive, specially brands like Nivea but you can find it cheap if you go to Watsons pharmacy & buy their own brand.
      Cosmetics can be expensive too depending on brand etc.
      otherwise, yeah I don’t think we’ve found anything that seems over priced compared to Aus.
      THANK YOU HEAPS, we’re excited to see where 2024 takes the channel! 🥳

    Wow, less than £500 a month is amazing and you've done quite a bit too 👏 Do you know if you're paying government rates for electricity and water? From what I've read it can vary quite a bit. Happy new year to you both 😎

    • @francandsarah
      @francandsarah  Před 6 měsíci +2

      Thank you! It’s not easy at the start. But if you get out of the ‘holiday’ mode and into living mode you can do it!
      We were told they were government rates and based on the numbers I believe they are. Made sure to ask when signing the lease.
      Happy new year to you too! Thanks for watching! ❤️🙏🙏

    Usually every large city has a district or block or a number if streets with cheap lo end budget hotels, curious if you know of any of these in both Bangkok, hun hin or payattia.
    Please don't say Airbnb Agoda etc, as these are simply where one pays "MORE 4 LESS" as these sites are useless for value

    • @francandsarah
      @francandsarah  Před 6 měsíci

      Usually the further from the beach you go the cheaper it is. In Pattaya, the Jomtien region is a great place to live for cheaper than Pattaya and still access to the fun, while still being able to ‘get away’ from it.
      In Bangkok don mueang was a cheap area with a lot more locals and guest houses.
      Not sure on Hua hin though.
      We use booking.com for short stays. But if you find a place on there, you can directly contact the hotel and it will most likely be cheaper. Sometimes by quite a lot.
      Hope this helps mate 🙏
