In my mind, I am trying to aim for a budget like yours....but it is nice to know that if something bad happens and your income takes a hit, it IS possible to live on less and maybe hold out till you can recover. One CZcams fellow that I really like and have watched for several years once said that he recommended spending your first year in thailand maybe living decently below your actual budget, just to see if you can manage in case there is a change in income or something unforeseen. I live in Vancouver and for a single person renting a 1 bdrm apt/leasing a car in the downtown area and living a decent lifestyle is going to cost you about $5000+ CDN a month. Living a comfortable life for about $2000 CDN sounds like a dream.

@@brookeschneider2321 My career is in corporate finance for the last 21 years. Currently at American Express. I am fine with my high yield savings and the few stocks I have. My 401 matures in a year and a half and with the selling of my house in 2 years, I'm not too concerned in more investing.
I appreciate your information very much. I've come up with like $1,750 per month US to live a fairly comfortable lifestyle. This includes all food, hotel, transportation, health insurance, entertainment and general monthly ect. expenses. We shall see. To be continued.... 👀
Brook great info, I went to Fraser,s today I had 1/2 chicken dinner , mashed potatoes gravy, and a salad ,a glass of wine and a water for $ 13.47 .I also got a chicken Parmigiano dinner and an order of breaded calamari to go plus mashed potatoes and gravy and a salad to go for a total of 980 baht $27.00 on the nose,how in the world can you beat that.
Around $2000/MTH is probably comfortable somewhere like Jomtien, Pattaya or up north like Chang Mai, but wouldn't cut it Bangkok at the same living standards.
@jorgen…didn’t find Bkk any more expensive than Jomtien…just found the city way to massive for my liking. Definitely lots to do, liked visiting a real Apple Store…sky train was impressive although I did get lost on it…lol.
It works in most tv's. I'm in Dumaguete right now and the TV here has something on each side of the hdmi preventing me from plugging it in all the way. If I had a razor knife I probably could trim it and make it fit.
Hello baht bus, hello bolt and dare devil bike taxis. Other than walking with y'all do a lot I will go this route. No pun intended. $210 a month for this type of transportation is my goal to stay at or under per month.

Great advice…i originally “figured” $2000 a month should do me…however its always less…$1700-1800 US works fine…im able to DCA on my BTC with rest 😂

I had a good year in the Philippines. I find Thailand has a similar cost of living but with a “higher standard”…more for your money 😂.

Very doable imo. A scooter can be rented for $70US a month if your so inclined. The Bolts are so cheap here…it’s hardly needed. 😊
