This video is so underrated.
Most teams run around 12,500rpm or 13k rpm
@@importantdolphin8974 Merc could rev up to 15000. Thats why their PU in the hybrid era was the best.
Mate he didn't even tell us what type of intake of throttle system it uses what do u mean
This video is bs
It’s not! He is promoting gambling site
Best video online that actually explains how the MGU-H works
Can you imagine the old v-12s turbocharged and with the hybrid system, I think that shit would be nasty 🔥🔥
well man, combine that with modern day material science, aerodynamics and toluene as fuel... I cant imagine what sort of monster machine would that be...
Then Look at the archaeic pushrod V8 engines in drag racing that produce insane amounts of power for far cheaper. Making about 11,000 HP for an 8.3 liter engine. That's like 1,400 hp per liter lol. Also the sound of a top fuel is something that can't be explained. It's the one motorsport where you have to be there to experience it. 0 to 330 mph in under four seconds.
how can a 1.6L V6 engine produce around 800HP?
Love the turbo airflow animation 🤣
Right lol
Frankly love the short yet detailed video !
this is better than the race itself
Only letting each car have only 3 Power units for the season means the cost of development for power units is insane to make them fast and reliable.
Awesome video, exactly the explanation I was looking for
Outstanding overview! I subbed. Superb.
Great video i was wondering with friends to know how power unit and engine works, thanks for this video and i don't need to wonder anymore 😍
This is really well done! Thanks for sharing!
*_There is another way to capture wasted exhaust heat..._*
Most people are familiar with Solar Cells for making electricity. Technically, they are called PV Cells (Photo-voltaic), aka light making volts. PV Cells can be tuned to operate more efficiently within a certain light bandwidth, typically Sunlight.
There is another kind and it's known as TPV Cells (Thermo-photo-voltaic) aka infrared heat making volts. These cells convert hot air directly into electricity. They can be placed inside hot exhaust systems and capture energy typically wasted out of the tailpipe. They are far more efficient than older thermo-couples.
*_IC (internal combustion) with EV (electric) = hybrid. F1 takes it to extremes..._*
You’re next level.
Thanks for comment@@craigdavid6668
Please consider using km/h conversion in your already great videos! Thank you!
Sir, yes sir! Anything else you need changed? They’ll get right on it
Very well explained
I had no idea . A V 6 plus stuff puts out a 1000 hp. Very educational , I'll check out the transmission next. Thank you
Minor correction: the fuel limits are in kg/hr or kg, not in liters which are nearly impossible to reliably measure as fuel can slightly expand or contract based on the temperature.
What is lighter, a kg of iron or a kg of dry grass?
@@bestopinion9257 they're both the same. They're both 1 kg.
@@Christopher_TG Wow. I said brown.
@@bestopinion9257 kgs measure mass, liters measure volume. Thats not the same thing.
@@theodore4017 No shit Sherlock. Where I said otherwise?
thanks guys .... really good video
the turbo animation is backwards. Compressed air comes out of the turbo outlet, it does not enter the turbo as animated 1:47
2:14 - The French farmers and ADM in the US thank you.
4:21- The programmers retirement rule! Balancing all 30 or so conditions to optimize the compromises there are likely variable, second-to-second, over the race distance.
5:17 - A long ways from looking after a DFV, and I' glad I had a chance to do that as opposed to looking for orange cables.
5:39 - "Stuck a finger in the air and spun it in a circle!" - a driver in R&T at the time.
7:18 - The reason f1 interests me no longer at all; computer games on a race track. "Gee, Red Bull's programmers must have found a real advantage on slow turns towards the end of the race!!!!!"
The n/a engines were the best by far. The wicked sound from super high rpms is mind blowing to say the least.
Very basic explanation but well done and clear
Power unit. Isn't that fancy?
It’s actually insane how these engines works, it’s truly the pinnacle of motorsport engineering. But one thing I can’t understand is since refueling isn’t allowed since 2010, is 110L of fuel enough for each race? I mean there are almost 50 laps in a circuit.
Of course it is. When did a Formula 1 car ever run out of fuel mid race?
@@salahdehina9733some came close though, and they will be DQed as the rules further state that you have to have certain amount of fuel remain for scrutinizing
Most outstanding!
Nice video
Nice explanation. I enjoyed it. Just one small correction at 2'14 ... It is not 110 liter they get as a maximum in a race but it is measured in kg's so it is 110 kg which is approximately 130 liters per race.
Cool video
Great video
I came to see it after Ford announced they were getting an F1 car ready to race
Very nicley expained i still love the V12's thry sound better
I hope you can answer this question. When the cars are at maximum power they have the waste gate open. Why is that because the wastegate closed would be used to produce maximum boost right?
Typically on a standard turbo car, wastegate opens to let excess gasses escape and not enter the turbo. Controld the boost to desired so you dont overboost and potentially damage the engine
The Hybrid motor was supposed to the adds to other series like LeMans
That Was Interesting. Is It True The Engines Seize When Cold & Have Warm Oil Pumped Through Them Before Starting? Thank You.
I used to be keen on F1 but lost interest, it was far more interesting with all the cars and engines being individually designed.
these f1s if were made for cutting through air and not for downforce with right gearing would definitely do 300mph or more
Can any of this technology be used to create more efficient vehicles, and why are we not seeing the technology used for current vehicles? The electric break idea would be nice in regular vehicles.
good explanation but WAAAYYY overdoing it with all the flashing text and quick-cuts. Exhausting to watch.
Turbos dont flow air in through the outlet side.. Bad visualisation
how we can know that a car does not have a battery or it is recharging the battery?
The metric system guys
🤯🤯
I know people cry for the days of V12-V8 but honestly what we have now is I would argue better, races are more strategical now and these new power units really are more with the times, F1 is all about pushing new technologies to the limit, so hybrids, smaller engines and synthetic fuels etc is appropriate.
I just pray F1 doesn’t die and leave us with Formula E
That’s like being a meat eater and only having vegan food
bring back V10’s!
Can someone explain what a sustainable fuel is?
No, it’s the big green energy hoax.
A fuel that comes from a potentially infinite source rather than a finite one such as oil.
@@MWorsa that’s impossible.
@@brandonmanasco5738 *potentially
And yes, the Earth will eventually be consumed by the Sun soooo…🫠
whew!
What's with the high pitch?!
Could rated as an excellent video BUT not using metric makes it somewhat useless! Room for improvement!
The amount of fuel allow per race is 110 KG, not LITER.
can't the mgu k work as a starter motor
I believe so if it has enough charge.
like toyota Prius hjybrid ;-)
Watching formula 1 with full electric cars in dead silence will get boring as hell, RIP Formula one
F1 became hybrid race not as F1 with v10 golden era
everything follows the big concept of Toyota prius
Should have km/h to refer how fast as well, MPH is not common for F1.
Your turbo animation needs to be fixed, it’s backwards. Lol
These electrical requirements regrettably doubled the cost of F1 cars. This is the reason why we have limited companies financially able to compete. And why F1 today is much boring than what it was 30 or 40 years ago.
This is lame. Soooo many restrictions and they still make about 400hp/l. Imagine if the engineers were let loose to work their magic. We would have engines that make 1200 hp or more like they used to in the 80s but very reliably since technology has come a long way. That's 750hp/l
F1 engine is designed for maximum performance, and it needs to run extremely tight tolerance for that. Even with today tech, I doubt 1500hp will lasts 50-70 laps
These engines are overestimated and underpowered. F1 needs to to introduce V12’s again
Man those sounds really 😍
F1 is mandating supposedly carbon neutral fuels (about as fictional as it comes), and then increasing the size of the battery - a device that has a MASSIVE carbon footprint and is extremely volatile when there is a fire… Now that is logic for you.
This sport used to be interesting and a blast to watch, now a days it's so ridiculously regulated it's becoming exactly like Nascar, every car is the same and there's no advantages, like Nascar it's just follow the leader and winning is just shit luck with the same divers winning over and over. It's now boring and unwatchable.
Wow, it ain't your grandpa's F1 car, that's for sure.
Diesel ⛽ engine 👍💪
LOL 3 hours and 75 views.
correction...the fuel limits are in kg/hr and they don't have external starters. They use the mgu-k to start the ice(petrol engine)
Home up, there worries about emissions when they fly around on planes all over the world but a v8-v12 engine is a problem.
Your politics are dumb. Bring back the v10’s-v12’s.
Just a basic gas motor would be fine, drop everything else....
Why use Mph? Why do usa still have this in 2022? Metric system is the king of messurments.
exactly what I was thinking
Because we are king of planet 🫠
@@MWorsa King at destroying it maybe
@@HarwinSinghPlease see melting smiley face, thank you.
F1 has been ruined with these changes. Go back to the way things ran pre 2014. Try The 1988 Prost / Senna McLaren MP4/4
No one use mph… educated people use km/h…
Idk.. and f1 car using 92 octane gas??
F1 engines are pieces of shit now. Sound like vacuum cleaners
This is why modern F1 is boring. Id rather watch NASCAR.
I can't wait till these abominations will be abandoned. Make them full gas or full electric. They are too complicated for what ... 60% less gas in races? Because street cars consume as much as in the past but deliver more power and are shit reliable.
The whole point was missed - less consumption of gas. They use these systems to make more power and more money for servicing their products.
Whats with the mph??…..get with it….kph is the way
F1 became F-100 cheap system car
In omongst all this noise...
Keep my extraction "low key".
Trump can stay home, same as AF1.
Send one or two messages, tell me where to be and when, all will be well.
Do it any other way, then I guess I will have to be very agreeable.
Tell Lue to send instructions on where I need to be to get to da choppa!
The Speedtrap highscore are not true in this videos. The F1 go much faster
I know how this works now....SOY
I stopped watching when I saw it's sponsored by online gambling..
What overlord sets these lame rules 😂
😂😂 formula??
So I can dish out only $200K on a Tesla Model S Plaid and have higher performance than a F1? All this tech around F1 seems pointless.
It must feel good to spend a whole bunch of money to accomplish nothing.
Was the script for this written by a 6 year old or for 6 year olds
F1 is so boring
Electric 🗑 all over fake green deal impossible mission
The people who can’t afford it/keep up will be discarded 😓
