    Thanks man for this video, it gives me many avenues to check. I have both codes, P0340 and P0344 that just started today so hopefully I can figure it out. Thanks again!

    My 09 jk stalled out on the highway a few days ago. Same p0340. Got oem sensor, crank no start. Gonna dig into the wiring and get a crank shaft sensor. Thanks for this video. I'll report back if it works for me.

      Update. I got a mopa cam and crank sensor installed, checked wiring and fuses. No corrosion or blown fuses. Still a crank no start. After a few key cycles while checking that I hear my fuel pump, I go to start again and it's a click no start. I can jump start but it's not wanting to fire.

      Did you ever find the issue

    Having that problem to I had p0369 found a loose ground for the bank 1 camshaft sensor. Fix that and then got the p0344 today so I change the sensor

    Im surprised you didnt have to replace the OPDA or camshaft. My 05 had a recall on the camshaft due to the OPDA gear wearing the cam gear it runs on out prematurely causing loss of ignition timing. Since watching your video im gunna check the loom and hope thats all it is cuz i really dont want to pull the camshaft out.

      I had previously replaced the opda. So that could still be an issue.

    • @jakk222rem
      @jakk222rem Před 2 lety

      The infamous opda code is the p016. Cam crank correlation code. As the oil drive gear wears, the cam timing is advanced and moves out of phase with the crank signal throwing a code. My '06 had this code. Bought a crown opda. Didn't fix the code. Turned out my spark plugs were worn out. The gap had opened up enough to put the timing out of sync.

      I checked the harness and changed both sensors. It's runs great when in gear and even idles perfect, as soon as I put it in park it starts to idle extremely rough then the engine light flashes. I'm gonna clean the AIC? By the throttle body but I'm lost now....

    • @Donnysjeepadventures
      @Donnysjeepadventures  Před 2 lety +2

      And it's throwing a cam shaft sensor code?

    • @BlueBanditTheGod
      @BlueBanditTheGod Před 2 lety +1

      @@Donnysjeepadventures it was but now that I replaced both sensors and cleared the codes it's off now but it still idles rough only in park and neutral but purrs like a kitten in gear and runs great. Oh and when it idles rough for 30 seconds the engine light flashes but doesn't leave a code now and goes off after shut down. I am super stumped I just replaced the coil packs plugs 2 years ago...cleaned the air intake sensor also and throttle body...I will check plugs tomorrow just to see but I find it strange how it runs so well in gear but loads up in park

      @Donnysjeepadventures  Před 2 lety +1

      Ya man that's an odd one. Sounds like a misfire, but you should get a code for that. My understanding is that when the light is flashing, you are dumping fuel into the cat. So ignition system is the most likely...IAC or plugs both make sense. Allot of variables here. I would also check the vacuum lines on the intake manifold. This is less likely due to it having a different code, but can cause a similar issue. Let me know what you find.

    Hi,
    Thx for the video. I've had an ongoing P0340 on my 2005 TJ Sport. I've tried multiple camshaft sensors, including OE Mopar. I've also replaced the brain (PCU), which has gone bad two times on this Jeep in less than three years. I still get the code. Even swamped out the whole synchronizer. My Jeep runs and drives great no misfires, good horsepower etc. BUT, sometimes when I'm driving it, especially if I romp on it or am accelerating uphill the whole Jeep will start to hesitate like a jerking back and forth (until I take my foot off accelerator and then it will stop) and then check engine light will pop on and it's always P0340. So frustrating.... If anyone else has experienced this pls reply.

      Mines also an '05, but it's an LJ. And mines doing the same thing

      I dropped it off at my local Jeep dealer last week. I'll let you know what they say.
      I think the best way to describe the issue is that the whole car surges under hard acceleration.
      I even recently re did the timing kit thinking it might be slightly off (and the guide was broken) but it didn't make a difference.
      I hate bringing it to the dealer but don't know what else to do. I'll let you know what they come up with.

      Got the same problem with my 06 wrangler. Replaced crank, and cam sensor work fine for about 8 months. Now same issue Replaced the cam sensor seems to run worse. Also check all wires and ground. If I keep having issues I might just throw a LS motor in, it's what I've always wanted anyway.

      Did you use OEM Mopar parts? I'm not sure if it matters or not.
      Dealership hasn't diag'd my Jeep yet because their main tech that they use for TJs was in training all week. So he's supposed to diag in the next few days. I'll let you guys know how it goes.

    I keep getting the same code on my 2001 jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. I replaced it about 11 months ago and now it's doing it again. No idea why.

    • @Donnysjeepadventures
      @Donnysjeepadventures  Před rokem

      Remember that 90 percent of the ones on the market are not oem. It's very possible that the replacement has already failed.
