How to replace the oil filter inter cooler on a Jeep JK - Pentastar motor common oil leak location.
This is a quick breakdown on replacing the oil filter housing inner cooler. This is a very common issue on all JK and apparently JL Wranglers. Given how many things the 3.6 Pentastar motor is in, this is bound to be a common issue.

General breakdown of me smoking a pork shoulder. It has been brought to my attention that you should smoke these fat side up. I will attempt again and see if smoking in that way makes it any better. Overall the flavor was amazing and it took 11 hours to reach my goal temp of 200 f. Recommend letting the pork should sit on the counter for a while to speed up the process, or at least don't pull i...

I'm not a professional, but your CAM Sensor looks to be out of position. Looking at the engine from passenger side, you should be at 9 or 3 position.
Does this have to relearn after install?
I just cleared the code and it was good.
How many miles between oil changes?
What is your Jeep? JK, JL?
I've been using that oil you got in your hand there for so many years I can't tell you also use it in my little generator I wouldn't use any other oil back when my twenties I had a Honda motorcycle and they recommended castor oil for it
I just did the 500.000 mile oil change on my 2004 corolla Saturday 4-13-24. I've only used Castrol 5W30 since I bought the car new. I change the oil every 5000 miles and have no issues with the engine.
Damn!!! One more reason for me to keep using it lol.
I always see reviews of new or newer Traeger's, I don't see people who have owned em for 5 years or more. I see a lot of other pellet grills with reviews after over 5 years of use. Evidence shows they don't last, you pay for the name, cheap China name.
Another downside for me is the top shelf should be deeper so you could throw a big piece if meat up and down
I use Castrol edge in my '21 WRX. No issues yet.
Is your Jeep auto or manual?
Will that cause engine to stall acting like it’s out of fuel and gas light to come on? I can get it to restart easily if gas light doesn’t come back on but if gas light comes on it won’t restart at all till gas light goes off
That sounds more like an issue with fuel pump or relay. When you say fuel light, are you talking about low fuel light?
Love it ❤
Hella underappreciated brand the lack of burning oil is HUGE and i tell that to all my mobil 1 users it really makes a diff giving more life to the engine
I have been putting Castrol Oil products into my cars for about 42 years. Currently use Castrol Edge 0W20 in my 13 Camry. Never had an engine problem in 1,000,000 miles. Alway have used Purolator filter, because that was what i used on my first car a 72 Galaxie 500 back in 1980
Tests have shown purolator filters to be the best, but I find them hard to locate locally. So I use wix xp as a close second.
If it is true that Volvo recommends Castrol Edge oil for their cars, I think that is a clue that this is a very good oil indeed. Volvo makes very good cars and it makes sense they would want only the best products in their vehicles!
Those older square bodies might have the toughest engine on the planet, lol.
In manual for my Mitsubishi Colt it's also recommended Castrol.
Only downside is the grease pail… we’ve got the fix!
Trying to find your store, which I think I did on Shopify but it says no products found...
I got a p0870 does the same thing
For those peeps, who haven’t had their throttle body or MAF sensors cleaned for a while, I would suggest you do that first and then do a engine oil replacement ( I switched to Castrol Edge 5w20 from the Lexus oil 5w 30 ) .. super smooth engine now :)
Am i the only dumb ass that can't get the red lock to slide?
Use a very wide flat head, insert and twist. Doesn't have to come out very far in order to press the clip down. Dirt can pack them up pretty good
They are notoriously difficult, and you don't want to break the plastic. quick blast of wd40, let sit for a sec. quick blast of brake clean. This is to get the dirt and crap out of the gaps beteen the clip insert and the connector that makes it almost impossible to get out by hand. Then use a flatblade or two together and carefully work it out.
Hey, quick question. If I had no ac/ no power going to any of the 4 modes, could it still be the blower control switch? Or at that point would it be the motor for the fan?
Main fuse seems the most likely. If you actually have voltage flowing to the fan than yes, fan makes the most sense.
You will never get anywhere close to removing all the transmission fluid from your driveway, your driveway gobbled it up. So, don't even bother just let it go where it wants to go and make sure it doesn't happen again I suppose
Should i use high mileage i have 166000 miles. I was also thinking if going with full synthetic
How did you go about placing the shifting lever bracket back on and making sure everything shift as it is supposed to ? Currently struggling
I've got a '14 Volvo S60 T5 and it's been burning oil at like .5qt to 1qt of oil every 2,500 miles. I use to buy Mobile 1 for my car (I'm not suggesting it's the reason for the engine oil burning in the first place) but about 2 or 3 years ago I switched engine oils. Volvo actually recommends Castrol Edge for their engines, and since my car has over 80,000 miles, I figured I should start using a high mileage engine oil for my car. So I make the switch to Castrol Edge High Mileage Full Synthetic, and I've actually noticed that the engine oil burning has slowed down quite a bit. The additives in the engine oil seem to really work, and of course my engine has been running perfectly. I will be buying Castrol Edge for now on!
Jeep, Good day. Bravo!amazing picture! godspeed- 👐
Thanks man!! Be sure to follow.
Who’s better Castrol edge titanium or amsoil series ,:)’
Castrol is great...and cheaper! No need to pay that much for motor oil.
@@mnrodriguez you right but it depends which one Castrol you choose! There’s also Castrol expensive’s!
Hi, Thx for the video. I've had an ongoing P0340 on my 2005 TJ Sport. I've tried multiple camshaft sensors, including OE Mopar. I've also replaced the brain (PCU), which has gone bad two times on this Jeep in less than three years. I still get the code. Even swamped out the whole synchronizer. My Jeep runs and drives great no misfires, good horsepower etc. BUT, sometimes when I'm driving it, especially if I romp on it or am accelerating uphill the whole Jeep will start to hesitate like a jerking back and forth (until I take my foot off accelerator and then it will stop) and then check engine light will pop on and it's always P0340. So frustrating.... If anyone else has experienced this pls reply.
Mines also an '05, but it's an LJ. And mines doing the same thing
I dropped it off at my local Jeep dealer last week. I'll let you know what they say. I think the best way to describe the issue is that the whole car surges under hard acceleration. I even recently re did the timing kit thinking it might be slightly off (and the guide was broken) but it didn't make a difference. I hate bringing it to the dealer but don't know what else to do. I'll let you know what they come up with.
@whowho8470 appreciate it, man. Yeah, I'm pretty much at a loss. So, sick of dealing with it honestly
Got the same problem with my 06 wrangler. Replaced crank, and cam sensor work fine for about 8 months. Now same issue Replaced the cam sensor seems to run worse. Also check all wires and ground. If I keep having issues I might just throw a LS motor in, it's what I've always wanted anyway.
Did you use OEM Mopar parts? I'm not sure if it matters or not. Dealership hasn't diag'd my Jeep yet because their main tech that they use for TJs was in training all week. So he's supposed to diag in the next few days. I'll let you guys know how it goes.
I use Castrol Edge in a Ford Explorer and Jeep Wrangler never have any engine problems.
Oil brand loyalty is a religion/cult. I've had the same amazing results with Motor craft, Valvoline, and Mobil 1 oils. 340,000 and 360,000 miles. Other people with Walmart Super tech oil.
You make a good point on the Cavalier. Biggest POS ever!
the most important thing here is you change the oil yourself so you sure you put the specified oil and also no fake oil changes
Hey just wanted to let you know the videos worked for me, my 06 4.0 stalled, replaced the cam sens, then died in the road a week later, replaced the crank sense after that. Just waiting for the codes to clear but everything seems well, thanks for the help. Now to replace the ECM to fix the hard shifting 😭
I'm about to recharge my ac with AC Pro. But one thing I am trying to find out is why the hvac knob on the right of this panel is running hot, the other 2 are cool, no issues. Of note, I have replaced the old stock plastic with billet steel knobs. I looked at it and so did a local shop I trust in the area. And we both saw no melting of the switch or anything else. It's been a head scratcher for months. What worries me after I recharge the system with freon, I have a long drive ahead of me that requires air conditioning in this summer heat, and this knob is going to be getting hot. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
My guess is that the resistor pack is going out but not toast yet. You should be able to ohm across it to verify, though I'm not sure what the reading should be. Could prolly find it online. Does it run hot if you keep it on setting 3? If not that would be a good sign. Just me, but if it's a long trip just replace the Blower and coil for peace of mind, as they are cheap parts. Again this is a guess, just makes sense to me. Don't hate me if I'm wrong lol.
@@Donnysjeepadventures I noticed the far right knob running hot when I had just the defrost on several months ago with just the ambient air circling through. But this was for at least 2 hours straight. And periodically was switching between the 2nd and 3rd fan settings. Never 1 or 4.
@JeepTJWheelin could try a clamp on amp meter to check draw. This circuit only goes to the fan so something is pulling to much current. In theory it could be a small internal short but there is no good way to diagnose that. Blower is now the logical candidate, not pack. Think it's only like 15 bucks.
On my 3rd truck I always used castrol and never had issues in fact my dad used to use castrol oil since I was like 7 on his cars and never had any engine issues
I am having the same issue! need help lol!!
What’s with the lip smacking. Just as bad as South Park. Mmmk Just take B1 vitamins in the morning, eat medium size meal before drinking so you aren’t bloated. Drink something that’s not high in sugars. Wines, mix drinks especially, or even how some beers are made.
Drugs are bad mmkkay
The local Jeep Dealer wanted $15,000 to make my Jeep "run right" again. $50 sensor and your video and bam, I'm back in business. Thanks mae, puro vida!
Thank you so much for these videos! Helped a lot!

Have been using 10w30 Castrol in our Ford Excursion V10 for about 8 yrs, no complaints.
Ive been using Castrol as well. I tried Mobil 1 but didnt like it. Im still driving a 2003 Ford Taurus Wagon with awd and its got 202,000 miles and starts right up.
@@leadnsteel1428what did u not like about mobil 1 ?
@@OGkush69x I noticed it burned more oil
Excellent oil.
I wanted to use a full synthetic oil in my 2010 hyundai elantra so I started using pennzoil and my car starting burning a quart of oil every 5k and my gas mileage dropped. Recently switch to castrol edge and my fuel economy went back up. We'll see if it continues to burn oil or not.
You might have other problems chief
My 09 jk stalled out on the highway a few days ago. Same p0340. Got oem sensor, crank no start. Gonna dig into the wiring and get a crank shaft sensor. Thanks for this video. I'll report back if it works for me.
Update. I got a mopa cam and crank sensor installed, checked wiring and fuses. No corrosion or blown fuses. Still a crank no start. After a few key cycles while checking that I hear my fuel pump, I go to start again and it's a click no start. I can jump start but it's not wanting to fire.
Did you ever find the issue
