Coastal Karnataka | 8 days | Best Road Trip | Mangalore Udupi Murudeshwar Kumta Gokarna Karwar

Coastal Karnataka is amongst the least explored destinations among Indian coastlines. This is despite the fact that the area offers a rich collection of beautiful beaches, temples, ancient ruins, forest trails, caves, and jaw-dropping landscapes.
In this 8 days road trip we covered the places (in same order): Mangalore - Udupi - Murudeshwar - Kumta - Gokarna - Karwar. In this trip we:
- visited famous temples,
- explored unlimited pristine beaches (from isolated to crowded and from known to unknown),
- enjoyed beautiful sunset across the coastline,
- did beach trekking to see untouched beaches,
- explored caves,
- tried numerous adventurous activities,
- watched beautiful Dolphins,
- did nature walk and bird watching,
- visited historical ruined forts,
.... and many more.

I along with 2 friends did this road trip in November 2018 and undoubtedly it’s was one of the best. There were no bookings made anywhere, took detour wherever we liked so we couldn’t make it karwar. We had to end our trip in gokarna. Left ankola and karwar for another time. Well one can’t know unless they experience. Highlights of our trip were Yakshagana in udupi , Jain chaturmukha basadi temple in karkala and Ofcourse gokarna Coastal walk from kudle to paradise. Apart from that Fish fry with neer dosa in udupi near one of the hanging bridge and also the backwaters.
