  • What’s poppinnn, I’m back with another video 2 weeks later (terrible I know) but here’s a cheeky lil video of me explaining my first year experience at Oxford University - a 411 if you will, ALL the tea, shade and all xx
    All jokes aside, I really do hope this helps someone in any way, If you’ll be coming to Oxford/St Peter’s college… BABY WELCOME TO THE PARTY!
    Thought I’d include time stamps for each section because I’m just that considerate x
    2:10 = lil summary of my results day experience and my academic history
    3:28 = Important terminology/traditions
    6:33 = my iconic summersault into a dirty river
    7:00 = freshers
    9:14 = work load, stress and how to cope
    14:50 = Being black (ethnic minority)
    16:48 = lil advice for ya
    Disclaimer Before anyone comes for my NECK, this is all specific to my own experience and my own opinions.
    *I also say “like” 100 times, pretty much every sentence and will probably continue to do so in the future, but like, subscribe?
    Enjoy (if you genuinely do then like, comment, share) much love and thanks for watching kiddos !

    • @edith5995
      @edith5995 Před rokem

      @@liamjones496 Hey! Just seen this. I'd say start by doing a past paper and identifying which areas of grammar/vocab you need to work on, then revising then and trying another on to see how you've (hopefully) progressed. It's generally similar things which crop up each time, for example conjugating the subjunctive, prepositional compliments to verbs, sequence of tenses (like using the imperfect with 'si' and sometimes the future with 'quand'). It's basically practice practice practice.
      I hope some of that helps! Lmk if you have any other questions

      Oxford University is nearly a 1000 years old, from well before the transatlantic slave trade. The point though is true - a lot of the buildings across the whole UK in the 18th and 19th c were in part funded from the slave trade. It's not something that we can ever get away from.
