- National Route 5a bears the national designation merely in title. Describing the stretch that links Ambilobe in the northwest to Vohémar in the northeast would be an account of a 160 km pathway aptly coined as 'the track from hell.' Particularly challenging during the rainy months of January and February, this route transforms into a daunting obstacle course. What is typically a two to three-day journey can easily extend to more than 15 days, featuring ruts, mud pools, and sections too narrow for simultaneous passage of two trucks - a factor rendering it impractical for buses.
Despite its arduous nature, RN 5 is the sole conduit to the vanilla coast along the Indian Ocean's edge. A considerable drawback for the entire Northern region, a key economic hub in the country, as the road's subpar condition hampers the transportation of vanilla and various minerals abundant in the area. The predicament with RN 5 arises from neglect in maintenance, with the road deteriorating progressively. This vital economic axis appears forgotten by the state, further compounded by the wear inflicted by large cargo vehicles, resulting in potholes and numerous deviations. The deplorable state of the road profoundly impacts life in the region; for instance, farmers resort to using dhows (boats) to transport their produce to ensure sales in the capital.

He proved the endurance of a Mercedes. They should donate a new truck to him as a thank you for this wonderful commercial.
What one that needs it computers fixed and a def tank? how's that going to help him good luck fixing a new truck with inner tube and rope
Jack that's just what I was going to say
He actually better off with what he has
Maybe the army should go and buy one of these 😂😂😂
Hed be better off with new brakes on his current rig than a new modern rig 😂
Mercedes has never won the Dakar. Kamaz will push any Mercedes.
Sido and his employees are some of the hardest working men I have ever seen.Oliver works equally as hard. I have the utmost admiration for all of those hard working people. It is a daily struggle just to survive and have a subsistence living.
Unfortunately the poor areas will not be able to advance without the government spending the necessary money on infrastructure. Hard workers should be given a chance to advance their lifestyle but can’t without proper roads, bridges and reliable power.
advance to where? distopian mask on face locked in house cause cold? now they free in awesome weather, god protect them from "advance"
My favourite narrator is back, I feel pity for the cart pullers, May God bless them
Me too I love this voice him.. perfect
I admire this people determination to survive and and make a living in this kind of environment
Real off roaders , salute to you , off road vlogger please donate your hard earned money to this hard workers .
Olivier's breathing already has me exhausted, I hope God sees him through
This truck is a legend.
Yeah
Much credit to the operation(s) that the Benz truck has seen more days so amazing
Gotta take a moment to appreciate German engineering for those Merc trucks.
The tire makers also do a great job
Always say the same Thing
made for ww2
Indeed, did anyone notice the windscreen ( immaculate condition). Seems as if the motor will outlive the body
The 1418 Benz trucks were built like a brick shithouse , or panzer for the German speakers
Gives me no reason to complain about how hard my work is as compared to theirs. God bless you all brothers.
Ever since i watched these documentaries have never been touched like this Oliver's situation and family went deep in my heart really wish if have something to help him with or even contact details to see if i can send the little i can have to him. He is a very hard working guy indeed
Really wish him all the best in life and good health to take care of that boy
The I can recommend the video they have about the rivier kids in Brasil. I think it was called "Live and death on the river".
I agree. That for me is the most desperate situation I have seen in this documentary series. And I have watched a handful.
This is rich land with undeveloped society with Mafia .dictator government
I’m sure the people who made this documentary paid him well!
The flex on that truck frame
its so funny the mercedes logo falls here and there then they put it back in to fall off again
I come from a long line of hard-working people, but this man's determination to earn pennies just makes my heart hurt.
Huh…..Pennies
Mr Dollars respect other people’s hustle
@@josephsantayian-nj1bxit’s true they earn practically nothing there
I hope there's more New episodes on Most Dangerous Ways to School. Those videos were relaxing to watch.
Took the words of my mouth my friend
Ayy nice suggestion friend🎉
Malagasy peopl are amazing. They work so hard and are very friendly and peace loving. I lived one year in Ifotaka, South east corner. I miss that place so much
But you wouldn’t want to live there full time!! 😂🤣
Salute to the driver of dilapidated truck, Mercedes Benz truck. In spite of being dilapidated of his truck plus the slippery, incremented, and bumpy road he enabled to deliver his goods to the market. Also I salute the driver of old model Renault car. Mercedes Benz and Renault are known for their durability ❤
I was wondering if it was a Renault and sort of suspected it was.
Respect to the German engineers of this truck. But I Wonder how they ever will get back this road.
And barefoot 😮
I love ur documentaries!!
The best documentaries on CZcams
This is a fascinating documentary!
Besides the upright walk, I haven‘t seen anything I am familiar with!

I watched this documentary last time,it's like you re-uploaded it!
53 thousand km on the odometer. It has likely done a million and cycled to 0....more than once.
Why is the camera so zoomed in most all of the time
They do what they have to do to provide for themselves and their families.
Never forget that our ancestors did the same. They are the only reason why were able to live and not just survive.
La route de l'impossible 😊
Meme avec si peu, ils reusisse. Et quand a nous, meme avec tous ce qu'on a, on se plaint.
@@j-jlevy oui ce vrai tres courageux ,
53,000 kilometers. Someone rolled that odometer back!! 😂🤣
Having moved a fair bit of cement by shell barreling up a mountain, I can’t even imagine a rickshaw
Is painful to see the wife explaining the agony of the fever and body ache, imagine choosing to work barefoot, because the shoes are not sustainable they wear out with in short time. Is pitiful to see such struggle 🇰🇪🇰🇪🇰🇪
Ghanains who maybe watching this video must thank GOD because, we have come far from such situations, they are minor here.
Apparently my ancestors are from Madagascar because I too see resources when others see junk. It drives me crazy at the waste I see and having the highest elevation in 8 of the 12 counties I've lived in being a landfill I ask when will it stop.
I just realized that the usual voice over translation is missing too. Bummer - that's what gives this show a lot of its charm.
I Ci chłopcy pomocnicy.Pozdrawiam autora.🙂🙂🙂😊
I loved this documentary and av always known struggles are real.i loved this documentary i really learnt alot
Salute to those cart pullung men, their work is so tough, you need to be physicaly stable for that
Ive definitely seen people pulling rickshaws in other countries aside from Madagascar
Brand new window visor on the hot box 🤣
I wish to meet Olivier and bless him.
Very hard-working .
Good documentary about Tanzania roads trucks drivers helpers groceries stores transportation, rickshaw pullers life, very informative... Gracias.
Never complain about the comfy chair in that office you work.
I do t work in an office!
If the wealthy nations formed an 'Improvement Unit' to address the difficulties in the poorer nations such as Madagascar, in no time the entire planet could have perfect roads, bridges, modernised agriculture, a thriving forest ecosystem managed for optimum productivity, plus great housing and proper employment for all, and as an added bonus, an environment like Eden. It is only a matter of the human will to do this, and we don't need totalitarian treachery and compulsory microchip implants to do it! We could make the world a far happier place, all we need is the will to do it. Prayers for the people who face such a hellish life of danger and suffering. ethermail

Excellent video

Is there a way to help this man Oliver
Omg may god bless all men 🙏
These documentaries are very good but this chapter seems to be much to zoomed in cuting most of the picture. I checked all my posible settings and all normal on my part. Hopefully its the only one as had not had this problem before.
Isa, roa, telo!... definitely a malayo-polinesian language.
Imagine what that poor old truck could do with a set of aggressive mud tires!
When is this filmed? It should be specified...
I drive a Chevrolet Sail in India and it finished 150000 kms and it still runs perfect
Peoples everywhere everyday.
Hardcore these people 😂
That is the real deal most dangerous road as we can see those rocks in a steep downhill with deep muddy part. more danger than those other videos in other countries
What is the point of risking your life to hold onto this beast??! 🤣😂
You look up "optimism" in Wikipedia and Sido's picture shows.
feel so bad for those poor pigs all tied up squished in a car hot as hell in it and no one wants to be tied up
India, Japan, Bangladesh, and many other countries still have rickshaw pullers.
I am surprised to hear how they count; 1, 2 , 3. (They say : iso, duwo, Tolu!) Is that so?
1: ISA/IRAY - 2: ROA (pronunce Rua or Rouah for French speakers) - 3: TELO (pronunce Telu, or Telou for French speakers)
Dang it the translation captions must have gotten cut off. There wasn't an intro either - anyone know if this is the entire episode?
I have a great determination but these Men resiliance with this truck are uncompareble.
Nice 🎉 vlogg
Crazy how countries even in 2024 cant make legit roads and towns, Africa is a mess

Being a Rick Shaw Person would be beneficial to your health as long as you wanted to do that. Wow.
the hand pull rickshaw is still in work at Indian city of Kolkata
Don't these guys have a government? This kind of suffering should not be on earth in this time and age! This is to be abhored not celebrated. Embracing suffering is sinking into darkness!
Why isn’t there a translation at the bottom instead of subtitles that only work in the app 🙄
They’re not even right most of the time either.
video is highly cropped.
Hmm, & we all thought we had problems.
When I see such documentaries, I always think what on earth billionaires of the world will do with sooo much abundance of money. Can't they do anything for such people.
good documentary! the title is misleading though..
why is it misleading?
Ini video dokomenter di ambil tahun berapa. Kenapa kondisi nya sangat parah
I must say we live like kings compared to what’s happening here
Can anyone provide me with info about the rikshow family please i wanna help them
👍
Old truck 🚚
Uncemented road*
Soon the US is gonna be like this
Anyone knows who's the narrator?
7000 euro? what a scam
Yeah he got scammed😂😂😂
For that old junk truck...
That truck and its staff has been through more that all of the American 🇺🇸 people in ONE trip, welcome to Madagascar 🇲🇬
