    With regards to the body sprays, I did a 6 spray setup with a loop return like you did, but what I did was on the return loop of the 3 sprays to the other side 3 sprays, I connected another tee and then when back to the outlet of the valve with a secondary tee. So I basically made a double return loop within a secondary loop to traverse and top and bottom just balance the system return path.

      You might want two valves if you going to run all that. and a booster pump

    How do you create the pressure balance specifically? I have 6-jets in my system, which are set up two at the bench seat, and the other 4 on the opposite end of the shower; there about 7ft apart with the thermostatic shower valve centered between them.

    I love your videos, so well done, could be on cable TV. I am looking how to rough in a custom shower using a handshower, a typical shower head, and a rain head. The two heads seems straight forward, install a drop ear and thread an arm into it. The single function hand shower I assume is the same, just a shorter nipple and Kohler must include an adjustable escutcheon? I'm going to have to call them.

    Is there a certain pex layout for a 2 shower rain head system. Meaning is it looped at all or just a straight run, Im using a 4 way coaxial valve system. 1 and 2 are the rain heads. 4 way Valve is 3/4 feed in. 3 is the body jets 4 is the handheld

    Love your video here. Very helpful. One question I have is this - does the 1/2" supply give enough flow to actually have two of the outlets on at the same time and have good pressure? Like the rain head and body sprays? Or normal shower head and the handheld at the same time? I think I have found online that Kohler makes a shower valve with a 3/4" inlets. Would you recommend that? I have a bathroom that I am redoing and it is torn completely apart and I could do that now if it makes sense? thanks!

    • @PlumbingSolutionsLLC
      @PlumbingSolutionsLLC  Před 2 lety +3

      the size of the pipe doesn't matter a whole lot, it's flow rate. most water meters will give you about 7.5 gallons per minute and most shower heads run some where around 2 - 1.5 GPM . body sprays are less . that setup I have will run just fine without losing pressure.

    Great video and explanation. However, I am not clear on the 3 function diverter vs. 6 function. Are both called the R11000? Also, I want to run a standard shower head, hand held shower on slide bar, 3 body sprays, and tub spout. In the comments below you state that most tub spouts don't seal that well so the tub spout should run out of the diverter valve instead of out the bottom of the R10000 valve. So if I run the tub spout out of the R11000 diverter I assume I will need a 6 function diverter. Is this correct? Is it still called the R11000 but with 6 function? Also, I don't need to run more than two functions (outlets) at the same time and I am running 3/4" pex to this system. Will that work?

    • @PlumbingSolutionsLLC
      @PlumbingSolutionsLLC  Před 2 lety

      Yes. the 11000 works for both, it's just a different cartridge . your going to want 2 11000. 3 function will run two heads , 6 runs three . my custom shower at home has 9 heads . 2 10000 and 4 11000 . these valves are set up for 1/2 inch , i recommend running 3/4 as close to the valve as you can . you can all so get a high flow valve that is R10000-UNHF it's 3/4 . There are a lot of options .

    if my rain shower head is in the ceiling and the pipe goes through my attic ( ohio gets cold in winter) what can I do to make sure the copper pipe doesn't freeze in the winter.. and is there going to be a condesation problem on the pipe that drips down onto my ceiling.... The copper pipes is about 5 inches above the ceiling..

    Fantastic video. Bit confused if I also wanted a tub spout for a bathtub. Would I plumb the tub off the R11000 diverter (using a 6 setting, 3 port trim/cartridge), or would one simply plumb the bottom port of the R10000 to a tub spout with regular pull up diverter? Hope that makes sense. Basically, I want a rain shower, wall mounted showerhead on slide bar and ability to fill a tub too.

    • @PlumbingSolutionsLLC
      @PlumbingSolutionsLLC  Před 2 lety +1

      I'd use the r11000 , if you going to have that many shower heads. those diverter spouts don't seal that well.

    • @PlumbingSolutionsLLC
      @PlumbingSolutionsLLC  Před 7 měsíci

      you need at least 7 GPM each body sprayer is 1 GPM (4) and the shower heads are 1.5 apiece (3)

    I have a question about loop feature. I have a Kohler Real Rain in the ceiling and a handheld on the wall. If I want both to fully function how would I create a proper loop so that both receive the same flow/pressure?

    • @PlumbingSolutionsLLC
      @PlumbingSolutionsLLC  Před 2 lety

      those rain heads use a lot of water. a loop probably won't help, that might be a pressure issue.

    Thank you for the great explanation! It helps a lot! My question is about testing for leaks and being able to use water in the bathroom while I work. I'm installing a rain head, hand held, and 3 body sprays.(6 function) I've got the Delta R10000 and R11000. When I test, do I need stub outs on everything coming out of the diverter, or will the water flow stop at the valve? There is one white plug with a rubber gasket inside the valve that inserts in one of the holes. I'm guessing that plug stops either the hot or cold water from entering the valve whichever hole it's inserted in. If I put that white plug in the cold side, would I then be able to turn the water on to use the toilet while I work on the shower? Thanks

    • @PlumbingSolutionsLLC
      @PlumbingSolutionsLLC  Před rokem +1

      The plug is for 3 function . the valve w/ a cartridge in it will stop the water.

    • @vincentguarino4262
      @vincentguarino4262 Před rokem

      @@PlumbingSolutionsLLC Thanks, I'm still trying to wrap my head around it. The white plug only fits in the left or right hole inside the valve. I thought that would be to plug the hot on the left or cold on the right? I'm not sure if I'm explaining the white plug thing correctly? Thanks for your patience, I've never installed a Delta multichoice valve.

  • @jamescole3152
    @jamescole3152 Před 3 lety

    Ok you didn't explain the "volume control" very well. Since so many of these modern valves don't have a vway of adjusting the water flow it can be confusing. I have never used a modern shower valve. The only shower I have ever used has a valve for hot, and a valve for cold. Totally adjustable. Why anyone would want a shower without volume control is beyond me.
