The push in is THE biggest problem with coin folders. If you pick it up to get leverage, you risk a tear through or bending the folder. If you keep it flat, you bruise up your fingers trying to push them in and you get fingerprints on your coins. I’ve gone to albums for my main collection. So much easier and better looking.
My main trick for getting the coins into folders now is to take a piece of paper folded over a few times and put it on top of the coin. Then you take a junk coin and put it on top and push on the junk coin to get the main coin in. Works much better than your finger. Obviously don’t try it with choice coins (but don’t put them in a folder to begin with), but works great for my kid’s folders.
I have same problems with Harris and Whitman. Nearly sprained my finger trying to get coin in slot. I don’t like Littleton setup either and some coins just will not fit into slot. I have resorted to flips in binders that don’t look as nice until they come up with a better album.
I prefer the binders that have clear sheets for each quarter for both mints
agree completely not a fan of those type of folders but is what i started with. Recently i purchased a Whitman Classic Blue folder for a very reasonable price & it came with a bonus Proof Quarter. the pages have the plastic slide out allowing for the coins to be encapsulated. This will be the type of folders i will be purchasing from now on due to the protection & durability they provide. thank you for sharing your knowledge keep up the great videos.
Thanks BlueRidge. I have had the same problems with coin folders. I hate it when you have to practically beat a brand new coin into a folder. You may as well carry them around in a plastic baggie and let the coins rub together if youre gonna have to beat them in or press down on the coin and risk leaving a fingerprint on the coin. Good job. See ya in the next one.
I have all of these folders, ok for holding coins, but moving on to Dansco albuns . Have just filled out the first Jefferson and love it. Cost is very high though. 😊
Great as always my friend thanks for sharing with us and all the work you put into your videos for us
Great informative video. I really enjoyed it. Thanks.
I have tried the Harris it's bad, the coin's pop out! I have some Littleton big and small folder's! The small folder's are hard to put in, the big one's haven't really tried! I usually keep my coins somewhere, else other than folders! Maybe I should try Whitman and use my Littleton big folder's!
Would love yo have these
They are all crap.
