Mariette Hartley: My name, pfffft, my name is Mariette Hartley and I am playing...

Mariette Hartley: I’ve been acting sixty (60) years. I started when I was ten (10) in a wonderful little children’s theatre in Connecticut. I had a wonderful, wonderful teacher. She introduced me to John Houseman. And then I came out here to California. I remember crossing the street and getting a jay-walking ticket. I think it was like seventy-five dollars ($75) and I said, “What the Hell is this. I hate it here!” Because I had come from New York and you jay-walk all the time. (laughs) I ended up in Sam Peckinpah’s office about three weeks after that. Got my first film and it’s one of the great classic Westerns of all time (Ride the High Country), Randolph Scott and Joel McCrea.

Mariette Hartley: And Rosemary (Rodriguez), she really knows what she’s doing. I love working with her. Harriet, she’s a very interesting woman. Well, this whole script is interesting, because these are complicated parts, they’re not just old farts, you know. Oh, I’m sorry, I’m probably not supposed to say that word, “Old.”

Such a fine, beautiful girl, seen her hundreds of times on all the old westerns and movies,❤️ from North Carolina.
Just watching her as Sarah Beth on a Star Trek, I realized again how much I always loved her, old and young.
Always loved watching her acting!
I spent two days with her, George Hamilton, and Dick Van Dyck on set for the pilot movie for Diagnosis: Murder in the 80s. They were a lot of fun together.

wow, she is still alive? i just saw an old episode of gunsmoke on METV with her in it and wondered if she is still with us, and glad to see that and i always thought she is a very talented actress......hey, mariette, give a like if you read this, thanks and hello from illinois.....
