George Hamilton: Nineteen fifty nine (1959), I went under contract to MGM Studios, probably the most glamorous, extraordinary place on earth.
The first day I walked into the commissary, and I looked around the room, and there was Cary Grant, Clark Gable, Fred Astaire, Gary Cooper. I was to have lunch with Robert Mitchum who was a bigger than life man, and we were going to do a film called Home From the Hill. And they told me it would be a nice idea if I ran my lines with him. And so I said, “Mister Mitchum, I’d like to, you know, run the lines with you.” I was nineteen (19) at the time. And he said, “I know the lines. I’m just too drunk to say ‘em.”
I have had a fifty year run in Hollywood. Here I go. Back at the dice. Taking another shot. It’s been an extraordinary pleasure to work with Rosemary Rodriguez.
Rosemary Rodriguez: You just want to feel like you’ve caught yourself.
George Hamilton: I trusted her enough to take chances with this role. The character in this movie is very touching and yet very sweet role.
Movie Clip: You’re working too hard. Enjoy yourself.
George Hamilton: And one which I’ve looked for years to play.
Movie Clip: Be a little bit more aloof. (splash) What was that? What was that? It’s okay. No, I’m wet. I’m wet. I’m all wet. I can’t work. I’m all wet. Phil, it’s Miguel. Hey, I won’t let anything happen to you, okay? You’re safe. It’s just me. It’s just some water. All right. You like the pool, remember? Good as new. A million bucks. I remember. I like it. I like the pool.
George Hamilton: And I hope you come and see it. Silver Skies.
