- Dragon Mountain is the weird Arrow looping coaster at Marineland. This attraction holds the record as the largest steel coaster by acreage as you wind over and through a hill. The ride does a lot of meandering, but it does feature 4 inversions and some fun tunnels.
0:00- Front Row
4:05- Back Row
So cool of Arrow to put an inversion on a mine train
Lol
This is actually a Custom Looper!
@@elevatoralarmcoasterandarc1214 It's a shame that there are no Animatronics of Dragons in Dragon Mountain.
Definitely one of my bucket list coasters. I love unique rides and old arrows and this Looks like a really beautiful and scenic ride but with some inversions to keep it fresh.
True.
This is definitely a back seat ride! I remember riding this one so many times back in 06' when the park was running all of their rides and there was an actual crowd!
Sure is a back car ride.
I remember riding this back in the early 90's when on holiday in the US. Blast from the past!
Nice!
Has the MOST unique sound on an Arrow lift! Like a Zulu tribe beating drums. Entering a "bow tie" after the tunnel. Priceless. Love how it noisily re-enters the station.
Arrows make great sounds.
I’m really glad you got such good footage of this ride. I never thought it would reopen.
I wouldn't have gone back if it was closed.
This was my first "big boy" steel coaster as a kid. Rode it in the rain. The mid-course evac platform used to have a steel frame around it. Big water droplets were falling off of it onto you at speed. Felt like needles fired at your face. Fun ride...and this was before the helix was enclosed, too. fun ride.
It is fun.
To go would be proud of these transitions
They aren't as rough as they look.
@@CanobieCoaster the coaster looks like if the big apple coaster and shockwave (arrow mega looper) had a child
I heard the park was closing down. Guess not. What a neat ride. I'll ride it. Fun.
The park looked better in my recent visit than in 2010.
A very unique Arrow classic for sure... if you think about it, it's Arrow's version of the Beast... a looping, backwoods terrain coaster.
Pretty much!
I'm glad it's back open and running. I think i saw pics of it last year with parts of the track submerged in water.
I'm happy too.
The beast of steel coasters.
Pretty much.
And one of the best rides by Arrow Dynamics!
thanks for upload Great recording and quality good stuff respect from Canada 2022
You're welcome!
that lift hill took forever.
Sure does!
I'm surprised there were actually people screaming when you took that back row POV :D I'd just assume it was a zen ride~
There was a big family who had just boarded.
You're welcome
Completely understand if you want to skip the long, two chain lift.
Yes!!!! As soon as I saw you were at Niagara Falls I was hoping for this. Dragon Mountain is unhealthily high on my bucket list.
It had been a long time since I had been on this coaster.
Although the ride looks iffy I have to admit that ending looks dang pretty cool
The drops and inversions are good.
Hey, Canobie Coaster! If I could stay in Buffalo, New York, then I could visit this park and ride Dragon Mountain!
Possibly!
1. If Marineland was taken over by one of the major chains; I'd hope they'd make use of all the space they have!
2. The trains look really awesome.
3. Funny that this is the ONLY bowtie in the world!
I wish!
slow lift lmao. love it
Two chains.
@@CanobieCoaster Touchee lolol
Arrow coasters always had a signature that they carried across to other rides. There's a few elements of this classic in Dragon Mountain.
czcams.com/video/6aRrLKurmE8/video.html
Arrows had a lot of similar elements.
What an awesomely cool & weird coaster.
So odd!
The meandering actually looks enjoyable. Just being outside and observing the scenery is nice. The inversions don't look that bad either.
The meandering isn't a strong point for me.
Thanks for being the first person to upload a halfway decent POV of this one to CZcams! This is an intiguing one. I'd like to hear your thoughts on the whole park. Is it as sad and run down as they say?
I'll have a review on it. The park has pros and cons.
if its open next year may have to go
It should be open.
I need to go to Canada one day.
It's a nice country.
@@CanobieCoaster I believe you
Only thing better than a arrow lift hill sound is one in a tunnel 😆
True!
This ride most definitely has some awkward spots, but also some really interesting looking ones as well. Being it's an Arrow I'm guessing it rides like an Arrow?
It's smoother than it looks.
@@CanobieCoaster thats awesome! The ride actually looks really good, glad you got such great video of it! Good job my friend 👏👍
I wonder if this or The Beast has a longer lift hill
I think this one.
0:50 They should have a cast member dressed as a dragon hide inside this part and scare the riders
That would be funny.
Wait is this coaster open rn? I thought it was closing for good
Yes it's open.
@@CanobieCoaster thanks for letting me know
So you've made it back to Canada. Did you also visit La Ronde and Canada's Wonderland while there? There's also a Great Wolf Lodge in Niagara Falls. Did you visit there?
I did go back to Canada's Wonderland. I didn't go to the Great Wolf Lodge. I went back in 2010. I would have gone back if they offered day passes, but this one didn't and the rooms were pricey. I plan to go back to La Ronde later this year.
Love it, it's so charming and weird. Can't believe it's the only coaster in the world with a bowtie element; you would think that two half loops+two half corkscrews would be much more common???
I would have thought.
Dragon Mountain is such a special and unique ride. Not a great layout, not intense, weird track-segments, but overall its a good ride. The only good thing about Marineland in 2019. :D
My favorite ride there is Sky Screamer.
This coaster had so much potential if the theming was there, but now it doesn't make sense. Although, it is very scenic, I will say that :D Is it rough by any means, because I hear the maintenance on this coaster is not great.
It is mostly smooth for an Arrow.
I like this coaster! i just wish the park made smarter use of the space around them and for me its just a unique coaster and elite drop tower in a bad park.
They just need to put more in. Even flats would go a long way.
Looks quirky, weird and fun!
So weird!
What'd this park cost to get into? 100 bucks?
50 Canadian dollars
38.54 US Dollars
@@vxxmpevil that cant be right
@@jaya1000 It is, though, which is not a good value. A single day ticket to Canada's Wonderland is cheaper than going to Marineland.
@@TonyKimtheamusementparkfan had no idea the exchange rate was so favorable right now. I better get my @$$ to Canada before it starts snowing
"Prime" ride time is almost 2 minutes long!
Yup!
@@CanobieCoaster So I guess that makes it Canada's 9th best coaster (after Behemoth, Coaster, Leviathan, Mind Bender, Goliath, Yukon Striker, Backlot Stunt Coaster and Le Vampire) right?
@@Paolo8772 I would take this over backlot stunt coaster but yup
Unfortunately this coaster seems better treated than the orca at the park
I know the animals haven't had the best care over the years.
The Beast if it was a steel coaster
Pretty much!
Do you plan to visit Niagara amusement park and splash world
Once Silver Comet reopens, yes. I did go there once way back in 2010.
What a downright bizarre layout.
Indeed.
There was supposed to be theming added in those straight sections, but never came to be :(
Plants are way too close to the track, that's just a hazard
I didn't come close to hitting them.
Hey, my brother. Have you seen Bright Sun Films new short documentary, "The Worst Theme Park In America"?
Not sure if you follow him on CZcams. You should. You'd love his content. Brilliant filmmaker.
Anyways, he just made this video on Marineland, and it looked pretty brutal there.
CAN-O-BEAST!!! My Man!!! Enjoy the coaster season!
I have not heard of it. I'll have to check it out.
@@CanobieCoaster Cool. He does theme park documentaries. You will love them. Take it easy, man
Gotta get here soon. This coaster intrigues the hill out of me. 🤌🏽
It's definitely one-of-a-kind.
