High value cards used to mean something, they were special, unique, and valued well beyond the monetary price tag associated with them. Too many cards these days are given a similar price tag and have zero additional qualities to justify it.
yep. I'm only focused on LeBron and Kobe for a reason. LBJ/Kobe/MJ/Mantle/Ruth (among others in that special class of athlete) are cards that I know won't drop in value
@@GoodmanGGs Exactly. High price tags should be given to the all time great players of the game and those with unimaginable potential. Seeing Richardson cards carry such a steep price tag after 4 games of "ok" play is absurd.

@TMLZ_Cards all they have to do is stamp a number on the back and people go wild. Or place asticker auto on a card the player was never within thousands of miles of. Or insert a piece of jersey the player never wore. Or one of the thousand parallel colors they dream up.

Unfortunately Jackson Holiday is doing horrible. He'll probably get sent back to the minor with his .033 batting average and his cards will bomb. They've are already starting dropping. Who knows how low they'll go. Let's hope he rebounds in the future for collectors

Jeff- Glad to see you are a fan of the vintage autograph rookie cards. I steered my collection that way about 5-8 years ago...and it seems to be an area that is holding value well, and growing in value. Especially after the player passes away or gets inducted to the HOF. Any tips on who to look for? Rare sigs? Baseball over Football? Basketball? etc?
All these modern cards look the same and are easily reproduced every year. Every year, another million 1/1 versions of different cards and we're supposed to pay big bucks for them. lol.
Collectors these days are falling for it Hook, Line and Sinker ! Paying huge money because a card is 1/1....when next week another 1/1 is released. So many people are going to left holding the bag when the hobby crashes hard in a year or so.

Love them or hate them, seeing a father and big brother get the youngest those cards and the brothers hugging at the end is a great wholesome moment and at end of the day what this hobby is all about!!!! Awesome and great to see!!!!

I can't believe Jordan cards aren't really ever considered, talked about, or even shown in these trade deals... and the prices on these modern and ultra modern are CRAZY to me 😮😢 ok maybe kids like them, maybe they're popular right now, but they haven't done much of anything and maybe never will, what are you paying for?? Coming from Syria and seeing this.. it truly is amazing how humans when they have no life problems will end up doing such things as sellings papers to each other for thousands of dollars.. its like a fantasy bubble where everything is good and make belief.. i am envious and wish too one day I can have that same level of life where I can be a grown man and play with papers with pictures on them and sell them for thousands of dollars

Good kids. That hug reminded me of when I was in 6th grade and a boy who sat next to me in class promised me an Adam Bomb original GPK kid card. I doubted he'd come through but he claimed he didn't care about cards. The next day he unveiled a sharp and eye-popping AB card & handed it to me as though it was a normal thing to bestow such coveted gifts upon classmates. I was into GPK but my little brother who was about 8 obsessed over the stuff and i wanted him to have it. When i got home I told my bro I got an Adam Bomb and told him the story. He refused to believe me yet impatiently kept pushing me to get it out of my schoolbag. When i showed him he nearly fainted ha ha I said "It's yours kid" and he hugged me and called me a "legend" & the "coolest guy" for at least the rest of the day. Coincidentally, this happened in Roswell GA (a burb of ATL) as my father was expanding his business to the southeast at the time (we grew up in NY/CT & moved back the next year). Very fond memories & there were a lot of great people in that region. I recall the kids being exceptionally friendly (lived in Roswell & Marietta over a 2 year period).
Though Jackson has had a slow start I believe he is a solid investment.
EVERYTHING is going to change during, and after this summer. So act accordingly. You might lose your butt if you pay high... and the bottom drops out of the New Card market.
