This is one of my favorite plants. I actually like all Hygrophila species, they're pretty much weeds, grow emerged, submerged, planted, floating and glued and grow super quickly. What more can you ask for from a plant?!?!

Well,Amano has it 5' tall in his Lisbon masterpiece in his hydro soils. Fueled by earth warming giant Co2 bottles. But,he also has it growing like Bonsai fir tree's on his Tokyo rocks in that public mall aquarium. I might try both minus the Co2.

I love your plant information videos! The music in this one I wasn't sure about, it almost parodies classic instructional videos. If that's what you were going for, comedic value achieved! I do like your more traditional music, that's basically just a semi-fast beat, but honestly I'm sure I only notice because I've got headphones on. It creates a slower, more relaxed vibe, rather than exciting..
The information itself was really great, and I always enjoy seeing the aquascaping with your mad tweezle twazzle skills. You could do a part two, on the trimmings and replanting. I don't have this plant but I really like the look of it. My plants are struggling and the only thing I can think of is lack of CO2. I don't have any dollars for a system right now, but eventually i want one, so I can have a larger variety of plants!
Anywho, I'm rambling, sorry about that. Just really enjoy your content!

I used to like Hygrophilia Polysperma but unfortunately now they're on the noxious water weed list .I can see the point in places like the south where it can spread and become a problem but where I live you it's too cold for it to thrive past summer .Yet other plants like Rotala Indica which grows fast and even under cooler conditions is still available along with others like Wisteria and so many others which I've been able to grow outdoors in my pond into late Fall .One of the worst offenders was Hydrocotyle leucocephala which totally took over the tank and then the pond when I transferred the plants thinking that they wouldn't survive past the summer .To my surprise they managed to survive the winter and then started growing once springtime came, although not in great numbers . Apparently some critters took a liking to them - the local deer population .
Awhile ago I asked someone at the local fish store where they have all sorts of advanced planted tanks and sell co2 systems etc ,where could I find Hygro Polysperma and they had a blank look on their faces .
The only person who knew what I was talking about was the owner who used to sell the plant when it was legal still . He explained that it became illegal years ago and agreed that it was ridiculous that it was banned from northern states where its too cold for it to thrive year round. I hadn't kept this plant in many years so I wasn't aware of the legal status . It's too bad because it was inexpensive,an excellent plant for use as a background filler and easy to manage.

I'm super budget watching. Most of the light is sun..from a window. I also feed my fish all I want..no starving them. I made an over sized filter and change water weekly. Co2?? pleassssse. I'm old school. Grow slower, what do I care. Whats time?..ha.

It's not a plant for aquatic growth unless its gassed or ..possibly,somebody has plants already adapted to underwater and gives you a few pieces..maybe one of those takes in a non Co2 tank. But so far for me? impossible. In fact Gary, none EVER grew a single root..or formed a root bud.
