That compliment to Als workmanship is big time. I was hoping people would notice the small but incredibly important things he knows and applies to his cars. This pedal placement is just one more example of why you give people like Al a pile of money, a lemon squash and no deadline. Out the other end of that comes magic. (and dirtbikes)
I spent 3 hours making and modifying actuator rods to get my clutch pedal placement juuuust "right" with my brake and accelerator pedals.... Al is a freaking good no lie
Yeah, we spend hours, days to get that perfect feel (for us, even worse when for someone else, so doubly difficult for Al) and he comes in, and just DOES it. No fuss, no nothing.

Didn't have it then, and it would have slowed us down splitting the motor and box, short time frame to get it done!

It is great to watch these to chill. Recently my wife had a work place accident (that shouldn't have happened) where she broke both ankles. Running the house and trying to work and care for the wife and boy, these videos give a bit of relief. Thank you

marty and moog are both so scared of fast cars, its so annoying cos they have all the money to build a sick supra or skyline or something with like 700hp but they dont seem interested cant handle the power

LOL, my mate used to have a droid spec 1.5ltr lancer with Chucky air brushed on the bonnet and mustard yellow leather interior :P. So watching this build is fun for me, brings back memories when we were going to put a supercharger on his little 1.5ltr haha.
Coming back to mighty car mods after 2 years because of that Mitsubishi motor build.

great to see the car finally on the dyno making some power, shame about the clutch. while the gearbox is out id highly recommend changing the open diff to a Quaife LSD (it'll work with your 2.4L driveshafts), ive driven a mirage with a 2.4 conversion and open diff and it was a shocker putting the power down so i could imagine adding 15psi to the mix haha, my old 2.4 converted lancer had a kaaz lsd and it was a totally different car, behaved so much better.

At the end of the day an extra episode is actually what I want, I fell in love with this car as soon as they put this engine in and is probably one if not my favourite mcm car now (we'll see), I don't even have that much knowledge of the engine, but its a straight swap with mix and match PARTS!! its what mcm is all about and what I'm all about. I have my own funny project I've always wanted to do and this gives me the inspiration.

Ill never understand why they always put a huge amount of effort into these engine transplants, but don't take the extra hour to do a head gasket, or clutch, or even full bearing rebuild. The engine is already out of the car, and it really isn't the most expensive thing.....
time, he was using up Al's time and had to fly up to Queensland to work on the car. He doesn't need Al's help for smaller things like a head gasket or clutch, and since he might not even need to do them (except for the clutch, which we just found out) Al's time was better spent working on the things that needed to be completed for the conversion.

@@James-dx9ho I never said the engine will blow. I said work. They got it from a reckers it was a complete unknown. They could have fired it up and it may have had rod knock.

What a waste of time. Why put a car on the dyno knowing the clutch well slip and fail when you had a heavy duty one ready to go in. You could have put the new clutch in before putting the engine in and saved time would have so been easy. what a waste of time.

Some places won't dyno a car unless the new clutch has 500+ miles on it to seat properly. Not saying that MCM wouldn't try it though.
