Appreciate all the support! I know it's not a "normal" review type for this channel but I constantly have been playing this and wanted to tell people it's awesome. Thanks for leaving comments and letting me know specifics I might've missed. Cheers.
One big difference with Mortal Empires is addition of alliance outposts. Vampire count now can finally have artillery
14:46 = Huge understatement Del. Age of Sigmar was nowhere near as exciting & interesting as Classic Warhammer Fantasy. I miss the original Warhammer Fantasy so much. Age of Sigmar was good but not phenomenal like OG Warhammer Fantasy was.
Keep up the fantastic work Del. Creative Assembly deserves all the praise in the world for doing Warhammer Fantasy justice with this Total War trilogy. Hope that a Warhammer 40K trilogy of Total War games will be next after Creative Assembly finish work on the next traditional Total War game. I know that Angry Joe will undoubtedly geek out massively if a Total War: Warhammer 40K trilogy is ever announced.
Not to mention... the blood DLC, which should be free, but at least its given to those that bought either the dlc for the first or second game.

That said, there are also mods that address some of the settlement battle issues. No building towers during battles! Woo!
i just hate how you cant play mortal empires unless you own all 3 games and then you cant play all of the DLC races unless you own all the DLC throughout all 3 games... so, unless you been slowly buying everything over the many years, that is a HUGE cost investment for just one mode for new players. its way too expensive and not fair to newcomers to expect them to pay a thousand dollars to get all the content in total war 3.
People were mad of the realm of chaos campaign but not the last god campaign. It was really a good tutorial campaign.

I can't speak for the game since I haven't dived into the warhammer total war ocean yet, but you gave a 10/10 for something that is still in beta ? When it's finished, which one can hope improves it, what will the rating be ? Also I suppose the campaign map side of things must be great since what you said about the battles was mostly negative ?
I don't want to come off too negative about the review, but it didn't explain what's so great about this sort-of-DLC besides "it's ginormous".
All the space demons, elves , and magic are great but I just really want to play as Denmark for some reason

How much dough would I have to spend in order to have access to Immortal Empires + have all DLC's for Dwarfs, Empire, Skaven and Chaos and a complete roster of units? Let's say during some sale. How much for all DLC's?
A lot. Easily into the hundreds. I own the first and second game with some DLC from the first (except the wood elves) and it would cost me £174 for the 'complete' experience. Even with a 50% sale that's still £84. Personally I'd say the second game is the best starting place as I think Eye of the Vortex is the best campaign, then you can get the first game, get Immortal Empires and still have a large Warhammer experience. In a way the 3rd game has too much. Though of course it's all our goal to get everything for the 'ultimate game', but you really don't need that.

Im interested in immortal empires, I have never played warhammer total war so I have a question. Is it enough for me to buy the previous game but not play them and jump straight into Immortal empires ?

It rumored CA next fantasy is 40k since some people said that CA signed a new contact with GW after WH3. What other Fantasy game CA could do? Maybe middle-earth, but that owed by embracer group.. Like to see a D&D if the couldn't get the middle-earth IP

How long does an end turn take? One of my biggest problems with the total war series is the length of time taken waiting for end turn to complete. Especially later in the game.
With everyone moving at the same time it sounds like this issue may be fixed?
How long does it take to complete an immortal empires campaign? I.e. What does 200 turns equate to in real time?
Not as long as you can think, it takes me around 30-45 seconds to pass a turn if i just decide to skip all the camera work following ally/enemy/neutral army movements.
Duration of a campaign is generaly subjective, based on what you want to do or the faction you are playing; i have usually a personal objective to follow when i play a race, but in game, you have short victory conditions (wich gives you a buff to your faction), long victory conditions (wich will end the game...unless you press "continue" of course) or you can complete one of the new end game scenarios and you will automatically obtain victory (wich mind you, are not easy, but you can decide in the setting the time of their spawning).
@@enricocappi3171 I assumed the AI movements happened at the same time as my own? Is this the base game vs Immortal Empires?
@@shanegannon1689 Movement is round-based, so you AND the IA move on separate turn.
Same-round movement is however possible (in WH3) in case of a co-op/multiplayer campaign between you and your partner/adversary.
@@enricocappi3171 Ah, I thought they had evolved the system to be "turn based real time", if that's not too much of a contradiction. Based on past experiences, the last of which is Troy: Total War, I remember feeling like they'd missed the mark. It became a real grind, not game breaking but problematic.
@@shanegannon1689 "turn based real time" i think it would be extremely messy, especially with so many factions on the map and so many races.
And i'm probably one of the few Troy enjoyer around; i perfectly get the "grind" complaint (since it's the same i have), but i've really appreciated everything else, from music, to estetics, hell, i've even enjoyed the "mythic but real" units that everyone else despise.

Absolutely adore AoS! Loved Fantasy before, but I never used to play, and could certainly never get others to commit to starting an army, which is not the case now 😊
VERY VERY interested. LOL course I have got them all as they release so meh! lizardmen were warhammer 2 LOL. I agree it is by far the best! Its my favourite total war too and has made it hard to play the rest.

I tried TWW2 mortal empires, and this game is just not for me. I love slow pace strategies, and this is just war simulation, I am more into diplomacy and slow progress. I am like oppositeof waht AJ loves in strategies. Also, I have never seen strategy game to be this demanding, my PC is far from terrible, but it cant run this game well at ALL, and I can run most things without ray tracing.
I really wish I loved this style of game, cause it looks amazing, but I am just not into it.
Maybe it's not time yet, some games I think that for years then I get a random urge to play them and then it clicks. I've had this recently for this game. I too play TWW2 and it's almost like an RP game in how you can lead pretty much any type of army you want.

Interesting intro.
This feels icky, Immortal Empires IS the game. No one is going to play anything else in this. The price to get into this is ridiculous, I've seen companies do so much more with so much less. The fact that owning the previous games doesn't get you any kind of discount over the games is appalling. Still all full priced with Warhammer 3 being £50 is too much, even with sales. The game is nothing without Immortal Empires, that's a fact.

This game sucks ass. It's pretty... it looks great. Why is there no total war feeling left in it? Ball up and a click. Everything you wanna do sneaky or interesting,... won't work the way you wished it would. Arc shots? Not like 2. Shoot through open gates? Nope.. very hard to do. Lords hitting each other and knocking your shit over.

Thanks Del. I don't know what it is, I absolutely love 40K and am a big fan of most fantasy. BUT, I cannot warm to the Warhammer fantasy setting, possibly because it just reminds me too much of (World of) Wankcraft! ;). I'd rather play something like Stellaris or WH40K:Battlesector or Mechanicus. I guess as far as fantasy grand RTSs go, it does look good, just the setting doesn't grab me at all, eh.
You mean warcraft looks like warhammer? That is because warhammer was supposed to be a warhammer game but the developers did not get the license. And because they were angry with Games Workshop, they decided to "copy" even Warhammer 40k and made Starcraft.
@@sagittariusa9012 kind of. The Creative Director for at least StarCraft 2 was Andy Chambers, the OG 40k creator
