Why does nobody mention the cost of getting cards graded? If I'm not mistaken that's about an additional $10-$15 per card cutting into potential profit.
also, no promise its going to be a 10..
@@Altego2099 yea don't sound like a good investment strategy to me. Buy a box for roughly $20/$30. Hope to get 5/7 cards of which maybe 1/2 is worth getting graded. Pay roughly $20 to get those 2 cards graded and hope to sell then for about $20/$30
PSA grading is best to do in bulk and with at least a mid tier subscription. That way you can have at least a few for free and some at a discount. If not you can pay upwards of 30 dollars per card. It getting a bit ridiculous right now. You must do your research first. The market is quite flooded with autos and 1 of 1s. The key is finding gem mint 10s. NOT an easy task.
Closer to 10 than 15 in bulk with shipping. Better option is to see what you can profit on in a PSA 9 vs raw once you factor in costs.
@@MrVicske77 youre not gonna get 5/7 truly good cards for 20 bucks in a blaster box lmfao
Another awesome video! Thank you!
Geez ... A lot of teeth pulling to just say he's chasing Jordan's.
Very informative, any in depth videos starting off with UFC ? Fan since 93’
I use a jewelers loop to go over cards I’m considering to send to PSA
Love your video. New collector and your information is very valuable
shipping eats up profit too

Nice. Informative.
NUMBER 1 SPORTS CARDS APP IN THE WORLD..
4 hour drive to Gatlinburg. Listened to you for 4 freakin hours...FOUR hours lol. Great content man
I think that even buying low valued cards, if done with strategy, you can get a great ROI. In order to secure an investment, I would recommend using an unbiased grading company such as AGS. In my opinion, no other grading company returns these cards with great speed and accuracy, with no bias in the grades unlike with other big grading companies. I really suggest those interested in sports investing to use AGS.
Great episode I'll look at marketmovers soon for sure
The modern donruss optics are hard to find centered...on the other hand , finest and bowmans best are much easier to grade
$20 per grade on a $10 card x 10-12 cards. Unless a few comeback 9.5-10, how are you winning.
Bingo.......
Let me save you all a lot of time. The guy got lucky with one of his Jordans from his childhood on his second submission and got a PSA 10......

Buy 1989 Griffey Upper Decks! Look for raw, centered cards and foil hologram is centered on the back!
is that better than looking for rookie babe ruth's?
@@tomsmith9011 do u have half million to spend on a sporting news card? Nice response!
If the older cards often have print problems and get 8.5 or less grades. Does this really hurt the value, if that 8.5 grade is really like a 9.5 - 10 grade of a modern better printed card?
Depends upon the graded population of card as well as general desirability. An older card does not receive leniency for being old unless it's like a 1912 Bowman or something similar, nearly non-existent.
Good call on John Collins...... dude was juicing! Lemme see those ROI's!
Awesome video as always! Thanks for the shout out and support for our new giveaway!!
Learn to scout players and stop wasting money on entry level rookie cards. Go big buy better premiere cards and get them when no one knows of that player.
talk about major risks
Awesome contest. I'm way too late lol.

Big fan here... on a marathon haha
I'm just trying to buy packs out of Wal-Mart and flip those for profit. Even if it's $2-$5 a card.
I think when there are only 25 or less cards of a set it does not matter what psa grade it is.
I think ur right...numbered cards are the future
Although your guest was a dessert dry talker (I nodded a few times) 🤣🤣🤣 But I learned a lot & studied what I heard in my cat naps 🤣🤣 All in all a great video
😆😆😆
I am newish to collecting and investing in cards. I’ve been mainly breaking hobby boxes as flipping and keeping some of the good cards. I know this isn’t the best ROI or way to invest more like going to the casino and putting money on black I’m next negative about 4% over the last 2 month. With the current market with inflated prices I’m scared to invest in a handful of players and have them bust. What’s the best way to protect or hedge a bet on a player? I don’t mind risk at all but don’t like to roll the dice and best it all.
I think if you are concerned about risk, your better bet might be to invest in established star players or retired Hall of Famers. They are less likely to bust. Yes, the entire market could soften and hurt their prices, but they are more likely to hold value over time. Safer bet, but also less upside.
Buy the goat rcs
Probably not the best advice to buy boxes. You are basically investing in lottery tickets with boxes then dumping cash into grading which is a crap shoot. Now don’t get me wrong this can work and not really a beginner investing option because of your capital to start.
Im still trying to get over the fact that I sold the luka holo optic for 150 and its now going for 300+ I'm very upset idk wat I was thinking cuz I kno better but I got rid of it to early jus can't believe I did that!! Took a huge loss basically how do u move on from that and recover?😱😲😣
Same here...i had an alonso 1st bowman refractor and sold it at the begining of spring training for $12.50. I had $15 on it but he dinked me down...lol. I thought Guilerme was gonna be the one they brought up...nope!!! Graded it was a $150 card 3 months later...oopps
Yea now its 600 + FML!! Graded 2000+ smh
I've been selling cards for over 20 years and I don't even know what to talk about if I write an article. I know a lot about ebay since I'm a high volume card seller with 600-800 shipments going out every month.
I think tips and lessons learned for selling cards on ebay would make an excellent article!
Sports Card Investor agreed!
I'd like to know how you list cards
6 and half minute intro?
Does Geoff have a phone number that you can talk to him
Your videos have encouraged me to go through my junk wax from the 80s and 90s. Thanks!
Yea bobby some of those cards from the 80s are starting to make money essp in high grade like 10s
Geoff do u collect vintage ????
Love this. Love to see more interviews with investors and their different investing flipping strategies.
Slick giveaway. The junk wax era is rough, to much junk to store .
That's what I did and I'm ready to grade and sell 98% of collection to buy condo and/or house. I have one pristine RC some Gems and a lot of mints I snatched for cheap (except pristine. Cards is #'d/599 and costed 900) and will not let go for at least 60% of value. (Not taking loss on my Pristine 10 BGS, Future HOF'er Chris Paul)
Another great place to find and buy cards is Mercari. Great content! Love this Channel!
I sell and buy cards on Mercari, it's one of the hobby's best secret right now
What's mercari
Yeah, what's Mercari?
In my searches for baseball RCs, I've gotta say that Mercari is usually, but not always, overpriced than if you were looking elsewhere, like eBay.
I wish i watched this earlier. Fvck!
ATLANTA IS THE BEST AND NUMBER 1 SPORT CITY IN THE WORLD. HAWKS, NASCAR BRAVE OLYMPIC SO MANY
Lmao
LAVISKA WILL MAKE THE SPORT HOBBY GREAT AGAIN.
JA WILL MAKE SPORT ENTERDUSTRY GREAT AGAIN
I noticed he keeps saying "PC collectors"..... what does that mean?
Personal Collection.
It's 2022 now and it cost about 60$ a card to grade.....this is definitely not a way to make any money. Alost impossible for anyone on a budget to start making any money unless you get extremely lucky very early. Not in the cards....👎
Buy graded
@@fishjuice3987 true statement 👌
I've been watching your videos, and I dont hear much about hockey cards. Is that just due to Americans just having little interest in the sport compared to the other 3 big sports in North America (Basketball, Baseball, Football)? Im slowly investing more in hockey cards at this point. Would that ever be a topic you discuss or is it not really your market? Great videos!
