Personally I would have taken the A4 convertible. That has the strength built into the floor.
It would have been too short.
The truck bed adds most of the strength back. These kits are also not compatible with convertibles
You are 100% correct. Guinuine convertibles have reinforced rocker and floor panels. Scary that these companies are in business. Would love to see destructive testing on these kits!
the guys who had crappy comments, are the same guys at a baseball game with a beer a bucket of popcorn your gut hanging out and making fun of the guys on the field you never ran anything but your mouth. I love it buddy Keep building stuff!
I don't get all the people crying in the comment section. The owner can do what he want's with his car and also Audi A4's aren't rare so not much is lost. This is a cool project and it's nice to see something different every once in a while. I'd say this is something quite refreshing to see at least for me. Also just to clarify, I don't know if i'd do this myself because the structural integrity is weakened but it's great to see someone had the courage and will to make this a project.
I guess it's because Audi's aren't as common in the US compared to Mercedes or BMWs? It's a cool project to take on, but I would probably use an old BMW instead. Like an E34 wagon, E46 hatch (like that one guy did here on YT) or even an E39 wagon.
What a great job! Looks really neat. I like the tailgate section. The curve to it really compliments the rest of the car. Sweet metal work.
It works better if you do it with a two door instead of a four door. I also found out that once you cut the top off, you will need to add more support to the under body to keep its rigidity. Most cars now are unibody so once you remove the top, it's very weak in the middle (the first bump you hit, you won't be able to open the doors!) I've done this to a Ford Pinto wagon, (Pinchero) which looked pretty cool. And I also made a little truck out of a Chevy Citation ("Camino") It's fairly easy to do with some body shop skills. If you cut it just right, you keep the taillights and rear portion, but you won't have a tailgate (didn't really need one anyway) The rear window on some cars will actually fit behind the cab too, so it looks factory built.
I was waiting for the Audi emblem to be mounted on the back!! :'(
its not Audi anymore, its just owner imagination, well who would do that?US have plenty of pick up's only one decided to change its destinatiom, its our choose to do anything with our stuff.
Very nice work.

Car guys always remove the emblems. Tacky decorations. That's the first thing that comes off on my rides. It's funny with my current ride. Is it a 86, frs or brz? Without the emblem no one really knows. I let them believe what they want 🙃

These new luxopickups have nothing on an Audi!
I like the clean debadged detrimmed look.
It's as if you see it in clay(when they used to do it that way) before the bean counters hang on all that ugly stuff.
Looks better that you would think and congratulations for thinkin out the box and doing something normal folk never think about
Need my A4 transformed into this. Absolutely amazing!
Très beau travail, vraiment impressionnant mais quel gâchis car la a4 avait une tres belle configuration, elle etait tres belle.
Haters gotta hate. Good job. Stay different!
It even looks stock! 😂😂 this guy is Ridiculously creative! I love it and it doesn’t even look bad
Audi should have been designed and sold a midsize pickup for certain markets. Awesome build. Excellent craftsmanship and attention to detail.
Whooooaaa!!!! Dude, you da man! That is without a doubt one of the top three builds on YT (I'm not talking about the proshops here, just backyard stuff.). AWESOME! It must turn heads like crazy!! Cheers
An Audi Ute! Great idea 👍 You now have a one-off that not many will have. Sustralian culture in N/A 👍
From audizine, to instagram, now youtube? Best build ever!!!
Eu não faria, mais ficou exclusivo. Parabéns pelo trabalho.
That was an audi in really good shape.
All I can say is good job, the end product looks great! Wish I could have/make one of my own
I love how he designed the rear with the tail lights it looks right at least on video , good one .
THE BEST LOOKING AND BEST MADE CONVERSION IVE EVER SEEN !! AUDI SHOULD BUY THAT DESIGN FROM YOU..
EXTREMELY COOL!
HIGHLY WELL PLANNED AND DONE!
CONGRATULATIONS!
Oi mate, you made one bloody good looking ute there.
Cheers!
Te felicito 👏👏👏👏,te quedaron muy buenas proporciones.
Супер тачка! ! !
Nice job!
In Brazil already have this small pickup: VW Saveiro, Fiat Strada, Chevrolet Montana, et all.
great job, my hat of to you for taking the risk!!!!
Show man .....welcome tô Brasil
Good build like the way the tailgate matches the contours of the lights.
great, I am so impressed with your work skill, smart man
Very good!!! Tengo un Chevy Malibu 2000 y quiero hacerlo camioneta, estaba indeciso pero con tu vídeo, ahora sí comenzaré a realizar el prollecto. Buen trabajo amigo !!! Saludos !! Desde México !!
wow looks freaking sick. Haters going to hate, but the time and work you put into this, id say it was WELL WORTH IT!
haters can't do this
I really do like it. Great work!!!!
That's freaking awesome. Nice work!!!
Now all you need to do is jack it up about six inches and put some off road tires but very nice job man!
Nice work. What kind of rear end? I'd also think about the structure and atlieast put two bars from rear wheel arches to the top of the roof
Wow there's a lot of hate in the comments for some reason? I like it you did a good job.
shape really suits it. top build
Wow... i mean wow. Okay the taillights not fit perfectly i think but the rest....wow.
And thanks...now i want also an audi Pickup xD
True Tradesman beautiful work
That was beautiful great job shows a lot of talent you should be proud of yourself
Well I gtotta say, it exce3eded my expectations in every way. When you started I thought you were ruining a very nice Audi. And you did. But then you unruined it. And I am now about to go have some crow, maybe a slice of humble pie for desert. AMAZING workmanship my man. Fantastic job. You should be very proud.
Complimenti, bravo.stupenda
To me this looks better than using a Jetta the kit was designed for. I do like the idea of starting with a car that was rear ended tho, at that point no harm no foul.
That’s a ultra sport b6 !! Why 😱
👍🏻、actually I don’t like it, but I know you did really hard work, so I think it’s nice! Good job 👏🏽
And , yore next pick up , should be Toyota supura, because I want to see what is dose fan kids reaction 😎
What a monster >:o
Ruined
It's their car and they can do with this car what they want. I think, it' s a pity too, but this car is not mine. And result is great. Good job :)
It's cool
Amazing transformation
Really liked the way the bed still resembled the lines of the original A4
I know some are saddened because it was perfect before but I understand the motivation
Very nice work looks very cool I would love to have one
I have a tail ended Jetta TDI I'm considering doing the Smythe bed on
The audi is a bit more fun looking
I miss my old rabbit pickup , and I'm waiting on my kit for my mk4 Jetta.
But an Audi?
heh, that's luxury that only the big 3 can only dream of with these new 70-100k pickups.
They can't even come close even if they used rich Corinthian leather.
Hope you had a blast building it!
I have some ideas for customizing mine a little , but I'll see how full my hands will be with the basic build.
I think we need to recognize all of the effort that was put on this car. Kudos for that. Now, just in my opinion, the fact that you can do something doesn't mean that you should.
Impressive result, but as far as I could see, everything is attached by screws and rivets and made of Aluminium and glassfibre. What about the structural integrity?! You weaken the body dramaticly by removing the (half) roof unit and the C-PLR. In addition, if you are carry some load on the deck, you will get a banana 😂😳🙈
Thanks for sharing. I drive an Audi TT and also have a '08 Ford Ranger. Would be nice to have both worlds and you showed it can be. Chevy, Ford or even Dodge needs to bring back a car based unibody small "compact" pickup.
Nice El Camino ya got there!!!
nope i would say more like a holdn hsv maloo
One of a kind looks good
Next.. an S4 fly tf out of the work zone lol
Riveting in the panels , yea it's strong.
Lay down a bead of 3m metal panelbond adhesive and watch those panels act like they are welded in.
Awesome stuff and that will take chassis rigidity to the next level.
ha! You pulled it off! Nice job!
Great work. Mass produce, make millions.
I like it looks good nice job
Nice. Keep it in garage all time;)
Ideal para sair por aí catando umas reciclagens, cabe muito papelão e ferro velho, aqui em SP tem muito chevete modificado assim kkkkk
Was gna do this with my 1996 jeep cherokee classic. Was a 5 speed manual, 2 door , 2x2.
Poor girl ended up totalled before i could tho 😢😭.
But this, this turned out nice. Not tacky either. 👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏👏👌👌👌👌
Awsome work! Looks realy great!
Very impressive. Great job 👍👍
Круто👍 очень пикап понравился
excellent result
zajebisty projekt
The company that manufactures this kit has a whole section on their site about structural integrity and safety, everyone who’s worried should go look up Smyth Kit Cars.
your comment should really be pinned so people will stop questioning the integrity of the car
very nice good job 👍👍👍👍
If you a audi dealer is this a nice truck
Very nice car
Nice build. Love it.
Too bad for the car, but high on the pickup truck! 👍
falta que diga Saveiro jajaj buen proyecto :)
Pretty cool looking!!
Tell me why.....ain't nothing but an heartache........aaarrrrggggghhhhh!!!
IT will SNAP! Looks COOL,, but it will SNAP. STILL COOL.
Awesome! great idea! you could well do it basically every car. to transform it into a pickup.
Soo much hate lol, i personally love it, amazing amount of work, way more that i would ever trust myself to do. Drive the wheels off of her good job!!
Great job
i Love it
Should've made a classic Ute, would've looked way better
Very nice work nice cuts ,looks stock..
good truck
Nice car
My favorite Audi
I thoroughly enjoyed your video. Thanx
¡Exelente! 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍
good idea trying this concept on that b class first b7 are cheap and I think it turned out great!
I like that. Another vehicle that would make an interesting conversion would be the Crown Victoria or the Mercury Marquis as the platform essentially ran for over thirty years, they are well proven in untold millions of miles of harsh service and the buy in is quite modest. Too, a company named JVC or Japan Victory Company (or the like) made a fiberglass bed for a 91/96 Chevrolet Caprice several years ago and Superstepside made a fiberglass bed for the GM (Caprice.....) "box body" Cars. The possibilities are many.
It's a so good car
Now thats a ute mate👍🏼
Tbh i wouldve gone the extra mile and tried to let the backend look like the c6 a6 facelift limousine. Wouldve looked alot better. And maybe tried to work with more OEM parts in general, such as the back glass for example. And i wouldve used bedliner for the bed. But other than that: great work! But next time, use a rearended a4 for this kind of project lol...
I want one so bad!
That is sharp!!!
Now I want one how much would it cost to get something like that done to a Audi
Nice job
Great job!
God I fucking love these ute conversions! I just wish I had the ability to build something 1/4 as good
nice look better!
I would have done it to a different car
It was clean 😭😭
