People say mma is boring because of the wrestling and grappling yet watch boxers who clinch and hug each other after every few punches and then have to be broken up by the ref.
It's just a question of how many rules there are. Boxing has the most rules. Just imagine biting allowed, or eye gouging. It's all voluntary. When someone gets fucked up, he was actually trying to do the same thing to the other guy. These guys have ultimate balls, taking the risk of having your ass handed to you in front of thousands. When I watch this,, I'm witnessing courage. Something rare these days, and needs to be appreciated.
MMA is for the soft and cowardly. I say bring back 1800s-style bare knuckle fighting, where genuinely tough and dangerous men would battle until the terrible deed was done, often over 100 rounds, with the savagery coming to an end only upon the sight of one man’s eyeball dangling by its stalk down to his chin or his testicles had been torn from his body by the bare hands of his bloodthirsty opponent and lay flattened and filthy in the ring, having been trodden upon as the hostilities resumed, perhaps also briefly nibbled on by a passing stray dog, until shock and blood loss slowed the inevitable loser down enough for the final blows to be struck. After the carnage the exhausted and bloodied men quickly fled the scene as they knew they would both be arrested once the law figured out where today’s fights were being held. Compared to that, Joe’s boasting about choke hold submissions seems about as much of a test of toughness, skill and resolve as two giggling schoolgirls having a pillow fight.
As a fury fan that clip has me dying. You placed that perfectly. Your timing was impeccable. Science is easy to measure when there aren't many variables.
I guess he hadn't invented "high level problem solving with dire physical consequences" yet 😂
People say mma is boring because of the wrestling and grappling yet watch boxers who clinch and hug each other after every few punches and then have to be broken up by the ref.
clinch also happens in MMA and almost very combat sports
Because mma is boring
I'm from Old School I hardly ever watch boxing anymore mixed martial arts is the new wave
Bro retreated 😂
As a fury fan that clip has me dying. You placed that perfectly. Your timing was impeccable. It should be noted though that many of the top boxers of today have experience in other fight forms as well but boxing is so lucrative. Most ppl can relate to a hand to hand fight, not everyone can tolerate guys rolling around chest to chest for a half hour. Me, I love all legit fight forms, the dedication these guys have, the Mount of sacrifice they are ultimately giving just for their family to succeed, for their respective countries to be inspired. To anyone who's ever stepped in a ring or octagon etc I comend you
That’s why they need to bring back soccer kicks and elbow strikes to penalize seeking safety on the ground
Wasn't in the ufc but nick Diaz hitting takanori gomi with a gogoplata is one of my favorite finishes of any fight in any combat sport ever. Submissions are badass. Ground and pound is badass. The entire ground game in ufc is entertaining as hell.
That wasn't a quick submission, that was a brutal fight, Nick set that sub up with a beating
Bro submissions are gay af
@@mynamejeffgaming lol you gay af boi
Boxers are the ONLY combat sports practitioners who wear a kidney pad lol
You can tell the guy on the bottom has never fought in his life.
Joe’s right. As much as i love boxing, ufc are true gladiators
Get them Joe!
Except in real fighting,no rounds,no ref,no rules….
Yeah but still mma is like 90% and boxing is like 20% , so tell me which is closer to real fighting dude?
This is one of the few where Joe knew exactly what he was talking about.
Best way to look at it is a human chess match. Those men aren't just bashing each other's brains in.
They are strategically trying to dismantle their opponents by taking advantages of weaknesses and missteps.
Being able to think like that in the heat of combat is a skill that deserves respect.
Same with just boxing and kickboxing or traditional martial competitions.
One of the few? Lol man, he knows EXACTLY what he’s talking about on numerous subjects. Not just a few.
I mean you just described boxing as well. MMA is a bit of a more chaotic version of that
He could've thought of a better name than that 😂😂😂
He didn't ,. Cock fighting has been around for hundreds of years , cock means cockerel , not...... Nevermind !
I have so much respect for both sports
....because guys wearing pillows for gloves, hand picking their fights, only to be given a fake decision is played out.
I’m a boxing coach. Would you like to come to my gym to test out the pillow theory? You can come spar here. I’ll pay for your plane ticket to fly out to where I’m at if you need it. Just lmk.
@@Kal-El207 lol...we've come to your gyms long enough. It's time you guys start owning your words and start coming to ours.
I’ve always felt like there is room for both sports to thrive. I like them both.
Good job joe
No horrible job tbh I love mma and boxing. Joe made half-baked bad arguments for why its not human cock fighting and why he prefers mma
I know it must be boring knowing if he held that choke a lil longer other dude dies lol
Ooh yeah, super boring... Lmao.
Like I said in another comment: _anything that you don't understand is boring._
I love it how protectionist and defensive the boxing guy is.
Still can’t get over the fact that joe has a durag on here
Boxing is a gentleman’s sport
Ever boxed? It's very violent.
Tell that to Gerald McClellan.
U Say that now, but it will be funny when your mentally fucked and can’t even button a shirt correctly 😂
Gentlemen have no place there
Who gives a 💩? What's your point?
That reminds me of the Demetrius Johnson arm bar submission in the air
Literally 3 words
Volunteering vs. Forcing
Both are great sport imo.
Man I love joe😂
Yes laying on top of someone for 25 mins is more exciting than a fist fight
yes thanks for agreeing
you just don’t understand grappling lol
@@Rkosin i do actually and I love MMA but I would rather watch a boxing match than a wrestler hold someone on the floor for 15/25 mins
@@Takeabowson1986 yeah I can see how that might not be entertaining for some people. im a wrestler and I also do mma and I actually enjoy watching grappling. boxing is just kinda boring for me.
@@Rkosin fair point. Different people like different things. I used to box when I was younger so I think sometimes you can appreciate a sport more when you understand the intricacies of it more. So maybe I am a bit ignorant about watching wrestlers since I have never wrestled before.
Submissions are less exciting
Mighty Mouse: suplex to flying arm bar.
I have to agree ground game is boring after a certain weight class
Dude lives with his head in a hole. Boxing’s rules are correctly stated here, and he knew he’d nothing to counter that. Boxing is the sport derived from fisticuffs (literally Fist to Cuffs) which had loosely agreed upon rules amongst gentlemen (like the rules of a hackey sack circle, varies with each but invariably aimed at a settling disputes without weapons). Commoners brawled, which has evolved into an art of arts in sport. MMA.
if I was fighting someone and was unable to use my greatest assets (my elbows, shins, knees etc) I would easily lose that fight.
Well you're a barfighter then, not an athlete.
I definitely prefer boxing but Joe is right here for sure. MMA is the actual sport of fighting
to me Boxing is like Ballet...its classical, honorable and respected
Joe would destroy you in the octagon. And Joe's podcast is crushing yours right now.
Boxing will never die
Correct. Boxing will never die but it will and already has become a less popular sport each year since the UFC was bought out. I love both sports but as far as pushing pure athletic prowess and mental fortitude there is NOTHING which comes CLOSE to the UFC.
_(maybe Pride)_
It's already dead. Noone gives AF about boxing. 99 percent of people couldn't even tell you who the current heavyweight champion is, whoever he is, he's not even famous. Meanwhile Jon Bones Jones is a household name.
Joe's on point, once the UFC hit I lost all interest in watching boxing.
That Interviewer just ragequitted
This aged well
This was so long ago honestly not even worth bringing up. Both sports serve there purpose and YOU CAN BE A FAN OF BOTH.
I love combat sports and that includes boxing, mma, Muay Thai etc.
Joe said that but this guy was a prick and just tried to discredit the sport.
It was so long ago that it's exactly the reason to bring it up. It aged very well
Put him up against Khabib or Islam and he'll stick to his statement "submissions aren't fun" 😅
Boxing is like dueling in the old days, UFC is for warriors.
People also get brain damage easier in boxing than ufc
Also nobody has ever died in the ufc can’t say the same about boxing
Someone died boxing?
@@jerellebowens4367 people have died in mma

As Vito said , " more ponsheez and keeks than ever before!!"😂😂
I fear the man who has practiced 1 punch 10000 times more than the guy who practices 10000 punches -Bruce Lee😂😂
Reason the ufc is better it’s run by one company so it’s never unorganised like boxing highest level in the ufc plus the best fight the best unlike boxing and then u get to use everything not just hands and there’s more stars in ufc now
Most people don’t know UFC stars. Not as main stream as you think.
@@LHBH8 yeah but it’s become way more mainstream plus way more people know Conor mgregor than any boxer right now
@@user-ly7fp7dt8u Connor is anomaly. There wasn’t anyone like him before and there won’t be again. Can’t see it anyway.
@@user-ly7fp7dt8u Way more people were engaged with Fury/Wilder than any UFC heavyweight fight. I like UFC but the boxing is dead shout is so redundant.
@@LHBH8 yeah but what since then also Conor khabib was way more
KOs are the greatest, not submissions! However, UFC fights the fight we want to see! Boxing has several undefeated fighters to afraid of a loss to fight each other!
Gane vs. Jones was NOT the fight anyone wanted to see. What a disappointment.
100% didagree with you on submissions. Anybody can be knocked out by anyone but submissions are a science. There's no luck. You either sink a choke the right way or you fail.
@@Frejborg not true at all. It had massive popularity. It wasn't the ideal foght for fans but they definitely wanted it.
@@ironstarofmordian7098 I think you missed my point. Yes, we wanted to see the fight, but it wasn't even a fight, it was a schooling.
@@ironstarofmordian7098the most popular fighters in the UFC and boxing are ko artist. Mike Tyson, foreman,Conor McGregor, and wilder,Tyson fury. Delusional
“Come on man this is exciting”. Lol
Joe Rogan admits he got out because he wanted to save his brain
Joe Is the Man 🔥
Joe rogan definitely won this heated debate
I appreciate both
