  • Hey friends, the Tasmanian Wilderness is so amazing! We've left the north coast and we're heading down the West Coast with a detour around the Tarkine Drive.
We visit the Edge of the World near Arthur River, wander through cool, temperate rainforests marvelling at huge trees and ferns. Then we find this beautiful cave.
We drive along the Western Explorer Highway - which is not really a "highway" that you might be used to - its a 75km unsealed road through the mountains. We end up at an epic free camp for the night.
We hope you're enjoying this glimpse of Tassie as much as we are enjoying exploring here!

Beaut video! A heads up for Maria Island if you return for longer than a day. Our group just left our hire cars at the ferry terminal in Triabunna - safe as. It's worth spending 2 nights in the Penitentiary accomodation - comfy bunks - you have the room to yourselves. You can hire bikes on the island. Plenty of short and longer walks.

Hot lemon water with teaspoon of honey does wonders just before bed.
Hope Nigel is better soon ❤😊

That brought back lovely memories. We might be there ourselves in about a month. Currently exploring Hobart and then going to Bruny Island. Has Nigel recovered from his walking pneumonia?

Yes he’s much better now. You must be just behind us Michael, we left Bruny a couple of days ago and we’re on the Tasman peninsula now

15:30. That wild flower is actually a foxglove. An introduced pest.

Good question. We did see the petroglyphs at Sundown Creek, and what we suspected were middens (shells up on a hillock), but there’s not a lot of signboard information.
