A detour to Tasmania's BIGGEST Waterfall

- We had a well-researched itinerary for our 6 week road trip in Tasmania, but when we get recommendations of great places, we have to be flexible.
We heard about the great free camp at Lake Rosebery, and the beautiful hike to Montezuma Falls. So, after crossing the FatMan Barge at Corinna, we took a detour, into the heart of Tasmania, to visit these two places. Would it be worth it?

Beautiful... The Lake, the Falls, The Walk... it's such a gorgeous place. Glad Nigel is feeling better, except for the sore bits.
Cheers Dee! It’s really so stunning over here. Just loving it. Thanks for watching!!
Such a beautiful walk to the falls , I’m really enjoying your Tassie Adventures. Glad you’re on the mend Nigel . Looking forward to your next vid 😁
Thanks Jeanie, we have absolutely loved Tassie so far!
Parts of Victoria-State, Tasmania-State, South Island of New Zealand, and Patagonia, share similar species of trees/rainforest type. Shared before the Earth expanded or continents drifted apart.
It’s so fascinating isn’t it?
Good to see Nigel recovering from his walking pneumonia. We are at Strahan. Your video confirmed we should do Montezuma Falls, so thanks.
You won’t regret it! Don’t miss the play in Strahan.
Great episode! We grew up in a time when you could take your 4wd to Montezuma falls, walk on the old bridge or if you were lucky like me ride my horse there. Such a magical place, glad you enjoyed it x
Wow that’s incredible! It would be a lovely horse ride too. Thanks for watching and we are glad we did good by your memories!
What a spectacular walk and waterfall…interesting to hear about the tram too. Another great film and glad Nigel is feeling a wee bit better from his flu. Take care both x
Thanks Lesley, it was amazing! There is so much cool history in Tassie.
Glad you are feeling better. This looks like my kind of hike. I love a good temperate rain forest.
Thanks Roberta! It’s such a beautiful part of the world 🧡
Well that was some amazing scenery at the free camps. Beautiful. What an impressive waterfall and that’s a walk I could tackle. That dirt road was great too. They are nice when they’re smooth. I wonder if they graded it last week? 😂 Glad to hear Nigel is feeling better. Sounds like he’s come to grief though but obviously lived to tell the tale for the next episode. Tassie is spectacular. 🤗
It’ll be a few episodes away! But we will film a Patreon update today. Look out for that one this evening.
Loving your Tassie adventures, I lived there and you guys have seen so much more than I did. Montezuma Falls are certainly special, I enjoyed taking the journey with you both, thank you for sharing. Jay
Our pleasure! Thanks so much for watching Jay. We want to move to Tassie (but not for winters ugh!)
Sue and Nigel the winters were the best part for me, am in awe of the snow. When we lived at our previous address at Liffey, it snowed there for the first time in over 25 years and I was able to tick off doing a nuddie run in my own back yard @@nigelandsueadventures
Great episode. I loved all the beautiful tree ferns and he waterfall. So glad you are over the flu Nigel but pity about the mountain bike stack!
Thanks Glenda! He’s doing ok now, thankfully!
That’s gorgeous! Such beautiful country. (Pieman river is where Alone Australia was filmed. A bit south of Corinna, I imagine.)
Yes there were a few times we felt like we were on the Alone set!
Another epic video. Thanks so much for sharing and inspiring, and living your dream...
You’re welcome! And thank you so much for watching!
Every bit of it - beautiful ❤️
Isn’t Tassie just so wonderful?
Hi I recently subscribed to your channel. I love Tassie it really is a beautiful part of Australia. You are both so adventurious. I love the content. Stay safe and healthy x
Thanks so much for subscribing and we are glad you are enjoying the videos. We have so much footage from Tassie to Edit over the coming weeks.
Lovely episode Sue & Nigel, I love anywhere where there is nice ferns and moss! Just so peaceful and pretty. I would certainly love to go fishing in Lake Rosebery, of course if fishing is allowed in the lake! Glad you're on the mend Nigel, who would have known bikes are out to get yah!! LOL Hope bruises heal soon!
Thanks so much Lee, it is very peaceful, although it’s quite crowded at this time of year.
I’m not sure if fishing is allowed, we have seen a few signs about permits being required for fishing. We didn’t fish anywhere.
@nigelandsueadventures l will certainly check this out, thank you Sue. 😊
I did a MTB race called Wildside MTB 200ks from Cradle mountain to Strahan. We had to walk along that bridge with our bikes as part of the race.
Holy crap! That’s an epic race. How long did it take you?
@@nigelandsueadventures it was over 4 days. Funny story a 70 yr old guy beat us up to the falls and my mate and I said we will catch him on the downhill. Haha didn’t see him until the end of the stage. We were both in our mid 30s then 😂😂😂
Oh and that’s the driest I’ve ever seen that track in the 4 times I’ve done the race. Mud everywhere
Hi guys well you’ve excelled again the scenery was amazing, we’ve noticed an extra sharpness to your photography just wondering do you have a new camera or is it just the crisp Tasmanian air .
Thank you.
We do have a new camera for filming, it’s the DJI Action 4, and the actual photography is from the Sony a7iii
Glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for watching!
If Nigel has CV/long-CV, then the fastest way to get rid of it is a few mills of diluted Betadine taken nasally once a day. Both nostrils. You can get nasal version of Betadine.
The nose is the place that seeds the sickness into the lungs. A rhino virus.
Sounds delightful! The CV test came back negative, although I suspect that’s what it was. He’s healthy again now thankfully!
You were right it's just like NZ , so Nigel a dip in a Tasmanian mountain lake is a good idea when you a sick ? 🤣🤣🤣🤣only a Kiwi would think of that .
Can’t stop him when there’s a chance for a Nigel Dive though!!
Hi..:) great to see you guys enjoying your Tas holiday. Looks fantastic. Just wanted to ask you are quick question. Would a 11ft(one ton) very light caravan take me through those roads, especially Lake rosebery. Thanks:)
Oh absolutely! It’s only the last 200m that is unsealed there at Lake Rosebery. And you could take any 2wd into Montezuma Falls
@@nigelandsueadventures Wow thanks so much for your quick reply very kind of you..Yes I was a bit hesitant about the roads but that is good to hear! :)
Have to take man flu seriously!
I’m a survivor! Lol
Hahaha, I sometimes wonder if it’s worse for the healthy partner! I’m just glad he’s over it now. Thanks for watching Heinz!
