Cimini: " Daniel Jeremiah on a national conference call, on what he thinks the Jets would do at 10 if the choice is between TE Brock Bowers and the OT2 (Joe Alt is gone):
"My gut tells me I think they would take Bowers. (Joe Douglas) comes from an organization ... in Baltimore where they had great tight ends and they’ve always done a good job of drafting tight ends. I like their tight-end room now. Conklin is a solid player. This would give them a little something different there that they don’t have."
He believes OT Taliese Fuaga and T/G Troy Fautanu would be the top OLM on the Jets' board at that point."

Every jets fan is split between guarding Rodgers or giving him an aggressive weapon
The weapon does both technically. Get the ball out of his hands. Draft the BPA.
It’s tough, literally we all know our OL has been bad, but joe douglas made moves BEFORE the draft, so he doesn’t have to draft an OL! That’s what I believe. Why would he sign 3- 3 new oline an and you all want to draft another. He will stand on the sideline just like another lineman last year- Will McDonald
And I know will McDonald is a DE I’m Saying that since we have our starting 5 , that OL we draft won’t play! Just like McDonald last year played 14% of defensive snaps and he was 15th overall draft pick.
@@Njbear7453 yeah I think we all want Brock bowers but we all got ptsd of Rodgers injury
And… “with the 10th pick, the NY Jets select….an Edge Rusher” 😂
You don’t draft backups in the first 10 picks…scared money don’t make money. Draft the best player available that high. If the GM can’t find gems later in the draft, then that GM ain’t worth anything.
Thank you. Jets fans are dumb fr
If you draft the BPA, he may very well be "back up".
@@emergingnetworksllc7083 I’m cool with that…if your BPA in the top 10 ends up being a backup…your team is very deep and good. However, the ideal situation is the draft pic will beat out who is currently on your roster.
What they need is to draft a real Offensive Coordinator. Hackett is completely clueless.
Rodgers will blanket what hacket does...look at the packers he made Matt look good.
I’ve been Oline since last year and actually blame the lack of OL and terrible play calling for much of Zack’s failure. However, with the FAs we picked up and trades on the OL and Rodger’s at the helm with a play making TE like Bowers you force the D to play honest. Dumping the ball quickly to the TE ,which we never do will hold the rush and Rodger’s knows how to do that. We could still pick a good OL backup in the later rounds. All these top tackles all have some problems and none are guaranteed to translate. I’m ok either way but if they did their homework on Bowers, then they need to go with their gut.
19 welcome to the jet's 😁💚🤍🏆
He’s not my ideal pick I would love for one of the t3 receivers to be there at 10. But In my opinion bowers addresses the lack of depth at reciever. He’s gonna be a target for Rodgers straight away as that power slot guy. He’s also gonna be a huge asset in the run game as a down field blocker. He’s a nightmare matchup for line backers and db’s who are coming down to try and stop Breece
Couldn’t agree more with you jc if we have our pick at fautanu/fuaga or bowers im taking the OL every time. We need the extra body in case of injury, not to mention long term stability at the position. Great content man keep it up
That’s exactly why I want offensive line at number 10 because as a jet fan you have to prepare for the worst. It sucks that it has to happen like that, but you want to be as protected as possible
Excellent breakdown of the entire situation, brother! 👍 👏
Imagine telling anyone during any time during the debacle of last season that the 1st round pick would be a TE 😳
Offense line 1st round, every year our qbs get assaulted if not hurt.
Thanks you this was great content
Thank you!!
Being able to select the non sexy pick for the great good of the team is what separates men from the boys. Rodgers makes average receivers look great but needs a robust OL to make that happen. Select OL to ensure when the inevitable happens and an OL goes down that we have a solid backfill
Sexy? Stop using the media's terms. It's a instant up grade in a position that would give Rodgers more weapons. So this pick sits on the bench as a plan B , a possible back up is just stupid. And if they truly believed Smith or Moses would not make it a full season then why sign them. They could have found a back up in the 3rd or 4th.
You make a compelling case. I like Fautanu. I’ll definitely tune in for the Draft live stream. It’s going to be awesome! 🔥🔥
Thanks bro!!
All I know is they signed Smith to the type of contract they did because they expect him to get hurt and be out a number of games. That's got to affect what they do in the draft. We need solid insurance this year and a possible 10 year starter beginning next season and we won't be back up in the Top 10 again for some time to come.
Like the point about not being in the top 10 again for some time
Agree 💯
While I agree, we are the Jets, if we draft a 10 year OT, he'll become incredible during his rookie contract, then we'll trade him for no reason lol
Gotta score points on offense- take the weapon.
We can score points with Rodgers, Breece, Wilson, Williams, Conklin. We need a healthy O-line, and given Tyron Smith’s history, we need a good backup tackle via the draft
We all need to get on board that out of every scenario fans have been fighting about they will land a great player regardless of position. We should feel great about how they attacked FA to put the team in the scenario to pick best player available 👍
Can't wait for draft night Ian!!!!!!!! OL or WR for me in the 1st round of the draft for the Jets.
Agree 100%
Isn’t Fautanu a guy who can play 4 spots on the line? I like him for that reason. Useful this year and the future.
Go Jets
I was not on the bowers train at all but I have to say buffalo jet fan kinda changed my mind you should watch his vid. I still probably lean OT but will not be upset w a bowers pick at all. Bowers will be used as a big slot and be on the field w either conk or ruck at the same time. Bowers will replace Lazard as that big slot
I still believe we're trading back to recoup the 2nd rd pick we gave up for the old man.
Couldn’t agree with you more, Team oline all day
I'm right there with you , Boss.
No single person last season was like "if we just had a legit TE" ...
Hopefully Tennessee drafts a WR and we can get Alt
Let’s take Fash the Bash
600 yards w/ no touchdowns . We need a two tightend unstoppable offensive system!!
I love and want Fashanu
Not at 10. Trade back then were talking
Thanks as always, I’d try and get Bowers looks like a real prospect
The fact is as great as Tyron Smith is he has not played a full 16 to 17 game since 2015 , so you have to be prepared for worst case scenario
Tyrone was great...4 seasons ago.
Just like Duane Brown...
Just like Cobb....
Just like Cook........
Agree 💯
@@vibratehigher2552 💯💯💯
@@yoholmes273 I don’t put him in those categories because he is actually a Hall of Famer possibly but I wanna prepare for worst case scenario and draft a tackle. If we get a wide receiver I won’t be mad but it’s always going to be something to think about
I'm sure the front office is split just like all of us✈️✈️✈️
Knox is a solid TE in Buffalo and the Bills drafted Kincaid in the 1st round. Became a great option for Allen. Great 1 2 at the TE position. Teams that think of themselves as "Win Now" don't draft backup plans in the top 10. Unless it's the QB of the future behind the solid or aging vet. Bowers makes an impact from the TE and slot position. That being said, I would still prefer the Jets find a partner to trade back, picking up a 2nd or multiple other picks. Jermaine Johnson was mocked all over the top 12 and luckily fell to where he did for the Jets. This year, with all the talk from everybody about Fashanu, I can see a lot of linemen jumping him in the draft. How far? Who knows? It's the NFL Draft, anything and everything is possible. Maybe even to wherever Jets can find a spot to trade back to.
Good point
Weapons, TE, WR, mean nothing if you can't protect your QB. Draft OT Troy Fautanu. He can play every position on the O-Line except Center. He's a great pick especially if anyone gets injured. If he doesn't start, that's ok. He's a great utility player.
Also don’t forget the OL scheme is changed this season the OL men are going to be asked to pull and play differently. I happen to like Latham but a match will be really important
I also worry that the expectation that Bowers is an instant impact player in year 1 isn't realistic or fair on him. We've only really got two examples in the last decade, La Porta and Kelce who made that impact. And La Porta was playing with one of the most exciting OCs in the league (we have Martini Nate ...) He's likely gonna need a year or two to adapt to the game when he's not the most athletic guy on the field by a significant margin.
Totally disagree, Todd Monken was his OC for his first two years and ran a pro offense. He is now the OC for the Ravens. Bowers is LaPorta on steroids.
A lot of people are saying to draft OL because of the lack of depth and injury concerns. However, that same argument can be made about the playmakers/pass catchers. What happens if Garret gets injured? Who is a legitimate threat? Can they competely depend on Mike Williams who will be turning 30 years old and coming off an ACL tear? Conklin is good, but not elite. They need to address both situations. Not one or the other.
I can see them drafting Bowers but using him as a wr. I would like to trade back and hopefully get a rd 2 pick
I don't get how we split im not taken the 3rd or 4th best Oline over the Best TE at 10 ill take a LT in the 3rd round.
Bro I'm with you! How could anyone really evaluate the WR/TE position with Zach and Hack leading the way. I say move down 3 or 4 slots and draft Brian Thomas Jr because who knows Mike Williams capabilities after this injury or when he'll return.
You got it fight D. FORD
I really see them taking a weapon and a lineman in the 3rd. I think everyone will be happy then.
Bowers isn't the move this year. I expect Conklin as TE1 will put up around 750 yards. Everyone will be livid if Bowers only puts up 300 yards or doesn't play. This team is only fun until Smith goes down and Max Mitchell or Carter Warren has to play LT for multiple weeks. Draft Fashanu
Every Superbowl team has a elite Tight End. I think Bowers should be the pick. Not to mention i think we have to pay Conklin mext year so that gives us insurance. Our oline depth can still be addressed in later rounds. I think our first pick should be BPA not need and Bowers will be BPA unless Odunze falls.
O line that’s what the problem was last year and why Roger’s got hurt we have great tight ends
Jets can't afford not to build the offensive line, please don't do it again. Build for now and the future. Do everything you can to keep your qb. upright.
Bring Becton back he’s not even signed yet, 1 year prove it deal swing tackle. Bowers in the slot, Wilson and Williams outside. Rodgers will help the OLine play automatically. I’m fine with them taking a tackle or WR but Bowers is probably BPA at 10.
I doubt JD is giving a member of the press any real information, friend or not. I keep saying this, who was the last top 10 TE who became a big time player for any team. Not upgrading the OL is the very definition of insanity for this team. Does anyone think that ZW wouldn't want to play behind a professional OL.
is A Rod playing this year
It won’t sound like everyone is tired of bad OL play 🤨 Take the OT then WR it’s deep
Tyler Conklin is on the final year of his contract, and we don't know what were going to get from Ruckert.
We do need a TE.
Thank you, and we have Yeboah; Conklin will be traded.
I don’t think they go bowers if any of the top 3 receivers are there
Is A Rod a next year ❤❤
People talking like we’re going to have rodgers for 10 years. We can draft a new lineman next year and the year after that . Draft the best player available. Is those lineman a better prospect than browers ? That’s the question you ask yourself Jets
Don't forget the big boys will be playing on that pos turf.
If Jeremiah and McShay are Friends of Douglas then they could also be trying to mislead other teams
TRADE BACK DRAFT 🏉💰🏈
All offseason Damien Woody and certain fans have been saying Carter Warren is the future and he has a ton of potential. Now all of a sudden he’s not good enough to be a backup swing tackle? Call me crazy but the depth behind GW and Williams is far worse than the OL depth. A good QB can do more to elevate his OLine than he can elevate his receivers imo. Go get a weapon
i think they should draft bowers sign tyler boyd and sign some veteran linemen for depth but i wont be mad if they go ol at 10
Who gaf about Conklin how you do people not see what a special weapon Brock is? You don’t take the fifteenth best at ten. You do take top 5 if they’re at ten. This is common sense
What 1st round tight end has lived up to there hype ?
My question is can't you kind of consider Bowers our 3rd WR? I have heard the case made that Bowers is the 3rd or at least 4th best pass catcher in the draft. Plus given his toolset to line up all over the field does that change the calculus? That said I still prefer the Tackles because I am certain we will need a 3rd Tackle and I don't feel confident trusting a 3rd rounded to start like Amegadjie, Blake Fisher, or Christian Jones. Thoughts?
I’d rather sign Bakhtiari as backup OT depth. A rookie tackle is more likely to get Rodgers killed.
@@HarrisonHollers but that’s What everyone wants !
@@Njbear7453 thank god fans don’t draft
@@HarrisonHollers I think no matter what we sign Bakhtiari but he kind of is another injury waiting to happen and there should be a quality slot WR option for us in the 3rd, if we grab a tackle in the 1st
I’ve watched every Bowers snap in college being a Dawg fan as well. Watching Bowers was like watching Gronk/Kelce/Kellen Winslow (I’m old) dominate a defense. Our offense has been so bad under Gase and Saleh I dream of having Rodgers throwing to Brock/Wilson/Hall/Williams. We will have better backup OL this year…
Sign bahk and McGovern dirt cheap with expectation they will play. Draft weapon at 10
Round 1, draft an O-Line Man. Absolutely essential. Can't win if Rodgers can't get the ball out and down the field. My view, anyway.
Conklin could easily have 1000 yards this year if Rodgers stays healthy. 85-150 yards a game. All we have to do is keep rodgers healthy. Go O-line!!!!!!!!!!!
The only issue with Fashanu and the Jets are the Jets want to win now. If the Jets needed a starting OT this year, I fully believe Fashanu wouldn't make it past 10. But Fashanu isnt going to start day 1 unless knock on wood, something would've happened to Smith before the season starts. I think the Jets are looking for a guy who can step in and start right away, day 1. And that is a guy like Odunze or Bowers, more than likely Bowers.
Would I pick Olu over Bowers, probably. But I think the Jets or more focused on this year, than next year. And I think that's the difference between Olu and Bowers. I bet Joe D and Saleh like Olu, but is he going to start right away like Bowers? No. Not with our current OTs.
So I think that's the thing personally at least with the Jets & Olu.
Bowers just looks like a lock to the Jets at this point. I'm just waiting on hearing his name at 10 at this point.
To me OT OR WR.
Is there any world where we can move down from 10 to like 14, get a 3rd or 4th and STILL draft bowers? Or am i dreaming. Then we can get an OL and a WR like jalen mcmillan with our later picks
All the NFL draft pundits have the Jets taking Bowers . Which means … they won’t
Wants and Needs! Yeah most want BB but we Need OL as we have a bunch of injury prone players.
No. That’s not how you draft players. They have an OL and depth. They have GW and suspect pass catchers. Get a reliable guy with tremendous upside in Bowers or at WR.
We NEED to score points on offense- when you score more points than your opponent, you Win. #32 ranked offense and you want OL.
@@Njbear7453 you’re not scoring points if Rodgers in not standing upright.
@@HarrisonHollers so much for your suggestion
@@howboutdemjets5092 I’m still a believer in today’s game being Outside-In not Inside-Out of how to build a winning team these days. real nervous about the WR room. If Joe D thinks Olu was the right pick then I trust him. I think if Rome was there at 10, he’d have been the pick. Knowing the Jets, WR depth will be a problem and everyone will complain about this pick and how mgmt didn’t replace Lazard. If they didn’t draft OL, that would be a problem and fans would have a right to complain about that. I just want the team in the playoffs.
Online first
The Bills have been hairs away of reaching the Super Bowl with what was then a bottom ranked offensive line. This past season, they had one of the best ranked offensive lines in the NFL and they achieved the same results. Teams reach the playoffs with lower tier ranked offensive line units every season. Teams also reach the playoffs that have gone through multiple losses on their starting offensive line. Teams have reached the playoffs and have won the Super Bowl with offensive line units that have had bottom ranked tackles and or guards. Practically all those teams, who had an injury prone player or two, did not draft a backup in the 1st round or being more specific, in the top 10. If JD adds a decent non premium rookie not coming off a meniscus tear and a vet better than Billy Turner, totaling 10 linemen. They should be fine. The injury scenarios the Jets have had have all been, most likely not to happen scenarios.
In other words he thinks what the rest of us think, Tackle or Bowers.
WR then Bowers then OT
@@HarrisonHollersneed Alt or TE
@@callmeNeno Alt ain’t good. See Greg Cosell’s assessment of him. Hes getting too much praise cuz he played at ND
Games won on the line we are drafting line
They sleeping on Ruckert, let the kid play
If Jeremiah is really tight with JD - then he won't tip the JETS hand before the draft......
There will be WRs in the 2nd round, there wont be year one starting lineman.
There won't be a jets draft pick in the 2nd round either whats ur poibt
@deadvedev3817 well if there's none in the second, there won't be any in the 3rd, 4th, etc... Use your brain, little buddy. You can do it.
If jd picks bowers, over a OT and Rodgers is sucking dirt every 2 seconds somebody’s going to get shot!!!!
My fear is that with DJ being tight with JD....why would he divulge his buddy's plans? I fear we are reliving last draft where EVERYONE mocked Broderick Jones to Jets and I don't think he was their guy if he had been there. I don't think Bowers is a TE. I think he is as versatile and offensive weapon as has entered the draft in years. I was not a big fan of the Conklin signing when we got him immediately after Uzomah. I thought both Uzomah and Conklin were pedestrian middle of the pack guys Jets brought I out of drastic desperation because we had NO tight ends! Think about it. We draft Zach Wilson and has no decent tight end for him to rely on as a safety blanket. I like Jeremy Ruckert much better than Conklin but we could deploy 2 TE sets with Bowers and either of them. I don't even know why we didn't do that last season. I think Ruckert is far more underrated than Conklin. But, with regard to all these mocks I always wonder why ANYONE thinks an NFL GM would tip his hand to a beat reporter unless he was doing so to blow smoke.
GUARD RODGERS!!
Stupid pick. A top ten pick sitting on the bench when they could have picked up an instant TE upgrade. Honestly a QB would have made way more sense. I get drafting a WR would rub Wilson wrong and would scream they don't beleive in him. The only answer here was TE.
Nabbers All Day Everyday
He will not be there
@@HarrisonHollers feel better?
@@EagleFang86 ??
Lazard is like 15 pounds lighter, and probably a equal blocker. Go O-line. It’s safer.
If jd doesn’t go offensive line round 1 just fire him on the spot. I’m sick of having the same problems every single year. I will throw up if our offensive line is decimated by injuries again!!!
We could of won a superbowl last year if we went offensive line. Please don’t make the same mistake twice jd. All we need is a good offensive line, let’s not get greedy. Build a wall!!! Nobody on our offensive line is reliable, i repeat nobody!!!
Everyone's just hanging out on this draft because we all know the coaching staff and FO is gone after this year. We all know another rebuild is coming once Rodgers decides to retire.
In Joe We Trust
