I have the 2013 Mustang GT with the Track Pack and the engine is STOCK! Bought her new in May 2012. The only mods are a Barton 2 Post Shifter (IMO) the weakness of the MT-82 Transmission. I also did an Eibach Pro Suspension with a BMR adjustable Panhard rod. This set up lowers the front about an inch and 1.5 inch in the rear. The handling is greatly improved and still feels stock. The tires are Continental Extreme Sports UHP 255/40 19 tires all around. I have about 87K Miles and still on the original clutch and she still rocks. The last mod is the Ford Racing mufflers. It gives it a deeper tone and no drone. It used to be my daily driver and now she's my weekend driver and a garage queen. I can't wait to see your mods. KEEP ON ROCKING!
What do you recommend I get to help with notchy gears that sometimes won’t go in
@shsk8880 The 1st thing I did was change the shifter. I have a Barton 2 post shifter and I have no issues shifting 12 years and 87,000 miles layer. Still on my original clutch too. They say the MGW shifter is the best but I don't know as I am happy with my setup. KEEP ON ROCKING!

Alex, awesome content! It's nice to see you back in a Gen 1 Coyote. I have a feeling many modders will take cues from this video series since the Gen 1 Coyote Mustang, in my opinion, is one of the best bang for your buck platforms, especially for young tinkering enthusiasts.

i also paid 20k for mine. bone stock 62k miles. its amazing.. looking into getting an exhaust and headers now
Last year I bought a 2012 RS3 with 37k miles on it, super clean, paint 8/10 unmolested for 30K

Ready for this build! I have a 2012 with 178k miles has had a vmp on it the past 7k miles or so and has been really good to me.

Love it! I have wanted to copy Donnie's build, but am always a bit late, gen2 was sold out so got a gen3r. Gen 1 Aluminator sold out , so had to build the gen 1. I bet your car will go 9's before my car is done 😂. Keep up the fun content!

I went 11.50s-11.60s in my 2012 GT with only a circle D 4c, CAI, Nitto DRs and 93 tune ( spare and jack delete 😁). South Carolina here too.

My 2012 has all the same upgrades and it was labeled "Brembo Package" not a track pack..I believe that's what your car is as well. Ready for some nice s197 content!

I know you already did the NA game thing with the red car but I really appreciate the process including doing the bolt ons since that's how everyone starts out usually. I know you aren't likely to invest in a manifold for this project but if yoy get bored I would like to see it just because. Also you have shown us tons of dyno stuff on the red car as well as dragy stuff BUT I'd like to see dragy/track numbers mod by mod since I feel that is a much better representation of what the parts are really doing, for example most of the manifold testing you did on the red car all showed similar power BUT the useable power curve was changes significantly over a stock manifold and I'd love to see you share how that effects performance on the dragy way more. Same goes for headers/cold air/e85 etc, can't wait to see the progress and excited to see what blower you decide to go with bicho

Bought a 2013 base model gt with 75k miles and it’s now FBO with 139k miles with only a couple issues, including Driveshaft failed, thermostat, and now the 6th gear synchro is going out… (mt82)

I just got done doing the rear suspension on my S197 (3V for now, have coyote to put into it), but thanks, now I want one of these. I had a 2013 Mustang V6 premium and I loved it even though it was slow. Maybe here in a few months I'll be able to make my 05 Coyote swap S197 run a good number. I've been dying to go fast again. After my cammed+LTH 2018 GT Mustanged into a ditch, I had to pretty much start over.
I just bought a stock low mileage (45k) 2014 auto. I looked at a lot of cars including gen 2’s. Most were high mileage and modded and/or too expensive for a play car. I believe mine also sat a lot. It has some clear coat peel on the mirrors. My decklid is also faded. I’m very happy with my choice.

I had same car in manual. The Brembo pack is just break, wheel, a little stiffer spring, gt500 rear lower control arms, and if you hold the brake pedal and double tap the traction control button or ESC. puts the car in sport mode and stiffen the steering wheel and back off traction control. The GT track pack has all the above plus 3.73 gear, torsen diff and better cooling for oil and coolant. hope this helps. I miss Mine. I Traded it for a 19 bullet and then for an explorer ST. love the explorer but sure do miss ripping gears. have a good one.
I had that EXACT Mustang but it was a 2013 Candy Apple Red. Other than being a 2013 and the color it was the exact model with the exact same options. Traded it in for my, then, brand new 2019 GT 10 speed premium. Wish I could afford both. Had plans to do a VMP gen 3 TVS with a gen 2 Coyote short block and fuel system for E85.
I changed my deck lid for one that matched the area around the license plate. Had the played out AMR midnight silver wheels with 305/35R19 Nitto drag tires out back. Kooks LT headers and Kooks Axle back. Changed out the injectors to use E85. It was quick for what it was. Left the airbox alone since I was going boost in the future. Full suspension with BMR drag springs and I regret the drag springs because the front was too low. Love my 2019 in comparison just off the fact of clearance and my 2019 is lowered a inch in front half a inch in back. Have the exact same mods as my 2013 being my 2019 has LT headers and E85 tune. My 2019 is A LOT faster but I know you can make those 6R80 cars fast especially considering the S197 has a solid axle and is about 300lbs lighter.
basically have that same car but white, bought it in 2018 with 50k miles its now "FBO" 93 Lund tune with 103K miles only problem was driveshaft had to be replaced and the water pump died at 98k miles shes been a great car.
Same bought my ingot silver 401a package 14 gen 1 with 19k miles in 2018 in Georgia and brought it down to south Florida. Only has a Lund tune but plan on hopefully in the future getting a built engine from FFRE. And using my original motor for my coyote swap fox I’m doing all the body work, full frame connectors and tying and reinforcing it as well as mini tubing currently.

It'd be cool if you did a converter before boost. I'd like to see how it does with a pretty tight / PD blower specd aftermarket stall when it's still NA / E85 / , possibly headers (since it doesn't sound like turbocharging is in it's future), and of course tuned. Good video! Very relatable for a wide variety of what people actually end up doing with these cars.

Damn I bought my 2014 at the wrong time! Paid $30k 2 years ago and the prices dropped almost immediately after that. But it did only have 25k miles on it and it's super clean! They're by far my favorite generation of mustang!
Dollar isn't what it was, but I bought my 2013 GT Premium with 7k miles in September of 2014 for 26.5k and traded it a couple years later for 20k.
@BadBackOz I saw 13/14 cars with superchargers for only $20-25 within just a couple months of buying mine. Really sucks but it is what it is. I plan on keeping it indefinitely anyway.
Awesome! Got the same spec - same year same color wuz ready for boost so perfect timing! You can transform the car with the correct suspension and brake mods. For suspension I'd go steeda sport springs, koni yellows for 10-12 so you can add the better gt500 strut bushings; poly front sway bar bushings, upr poly/heim rear lower arms, stock upper arm, viking DA rear shocks, and a poly/heim panhard bar. Brakes go J&M stainless Teflon brake lines, Motul 5.1-700 fluid, ceramic pads for the street. For engine I WILL BE COPYING YOU BICHO!

Sterling Grey Metallic, wheels are 19 x 9, they are heavy about 32 lbs or so a piece. I think the Brembo Brake package was wheels tires, front Brembo calipers and the strut tower brace. I had 3 of them 1 2011 and 2 2014s. Looking forward to the build, I think if I found a good example like yours I'd be tempted to pick it up. I'd wait for either Sterling Grey, Kona Blue or Ruby Red or Tinted Clear Coat whatever it was called.

Yes this is going to be great build! Car looks so good. I love my fbo e85 Gen 1 red rocket 🚀 daily driven for almost 4 years now. 3 years on lund e85r tune. 🌽 it’s great and puts a smile on my face everytime I drive it. I’m around 73k miles now but she has got me thru it over the years snow/rain/shine. And still runs strong. 💪 ford tough 😎 I love this car. Eventually I want to go boost someday. Anyways looking forward to your uploads on upcoming mods. 👍 it’s going to turn out great. 💯

Can't wait to see the videos for this project, that's a pretty nice gen 1. I may get Roasted for this, but a good friend of mine had a 2013 6R80 car we pulled a few fuses at the track and with great DA it ran a 12.39 with nothing done to it other than the fuses. On stock all season pirelli tires. Also I might at it was a leather interior with navigation.. I couldn't believe it when it happened. I'm glad you got this for the channel.

@@joecourter3 I think it was the ABS and the traction control fuses.
Nice looking car. I had a corrosion issue with the hood on my S197 and ended up replacing it with an aftermarket hood from TruFiber. Apparently there was an issue with Ford’s manufacturing process with their hoods.

Just picked up a clean unmolested 2014 gt 6mt with 8260 original miles! She’s up at 11500 ish rn and it’s bone stock with a solo performance axleback. I’m excited to go FBO 93 and lower it and see how much I fun I have
3:59 I could be wrong but from I remember the s197 track pack coyote/boss/gt500 had 4 piston brembos and the 13/14 gt500 that the 6 piston. And also I think the 401a had the leather seats with a colored stripe in the middle. I always wanted one but when I was able to finally afford one in 2018 the ones with the options I wanted were clapped, and now I want one cheap enough where I can flip. I’m looking forward to the build.
Yeah the colored stripe in the center of the leather seats was the pony pkg upgrade and the door inserts had a running pony👍🏻

Looks pretty good. The Brembo pkg. came with the strut brace, does not need to be the track pack. Ask me how I know. 😅

Sterling Gray is correct. I clicked on this video because this looks just like my 2014 GT I sold a few months ago, apart from the lack of window tint. Mine was a track pack, 6-spd with Roush axle backs. Other than that, everything else was factory. What's funny is that I lived in SC when I bought it for 23k in 2019.

Sterling gray metallic. The best OEM gen 1 color. ✅ and yes, that’s a 401A package. (I have the same car lol) 401A comes with the seats(white stitching) strut tower brace, ambient lighting, upgraded Soundsystem, backup cam located in the wing.

Looks like Sterling Grey Metallic. That's the color of my 2014 GT Premium, 6R80, which also came with the Brembo Package. I have the same wheels and they are 19"x9". I bought mine last June in Massachusetts for 26K. (1 owner, great CarFax maintenance record, 58K miles). The car now lives in Florida and I try to get out to Bradenton Motorsports Park as often as the weather permits. With a CAI and 93 octane tune the car has managed a 12.176 @ 115.28 on M/T drag radials (Great DA). I am looking forward to seeing how your 2013 responds to your changes.
