I think that most Dual Normal types kind of fall into the category of "These are essentially just normal animals, but like they have a little bit of something else in them that makes them special" Like Sawsbuck, take away his Antlers, it's just a normal deer. Helioptile generates electricity by basking in the sun, which I assume they would need to do a lot since it can't store electricity. If Bibarel didn't live in the water, it would probably also just be normal. Even the bird pokemon, yeah they fly, but like they're just birds in most cases. Like most of the dual Normal types just have an aspect of that other type but aren't fully capable of being that type.
I mean there are some weird ones that don't make sense. Like Pyroar and Hisuian Zorua and Zoroark. Cause Pyroar has fire coming off of itself and has an internal organ that produces fire similar to the surface of the sun, it should just be a fire type. And How is Zoroark a Normal ghost...? what is so normal about it? It's vengeful and aggressive... why isn't it dark/ghost?

I think normal-some element makes sense. If the creature isn't primarily composed of the element, but just has say an organ or small part that emits it, it should be a normal elemental. Like torkoal and arcanine seem like the flames engulf their body, and even if you were to touch their legs or face it'd probably be hot, but for pyroar, it looks more like only the mane is made of flames, and that it can probably breathe fire, so they can use the element but they _aren't_ really the element. But the body looks normalesque.

My thoughts for an ice/poison type was something like an ancient disease that had been preserved in ice to the modern day. I think it should start out as a poison type, because its main characteristic is that it’s a disease.
Also, I think it could make more sense that the evolution could go two ways.
Poison/Fire, so that it turns into a speedy offensive pokemon. Its ability could increase the power of poison moves and make them have the possibility to burn.
      or
Poison/Ice, so it becomes a defensive wall. Its ability could increase the chances of poisoning and also increase the effects of poisoning (This would make Toxic OP).

Similarly with Ground/Fairy, Dwarves could also work since they like to live in the mountains, though since many of the specific ones I can think of also are blacksmiths or use weapons, steel/fairy could also work though we probably don't need any more of those especially after Zacian. I was initially considering ogres working since it'd be like having a scary looking fairy that isn't Grimmsnarl or Granbull, but those things are known to eat people apparently so they'd definitely be dark. Plus Grimmsnarl is kinda already one anyway.

When I first heard him say Ice/Poison, I couldn't help but be reminded of a gun the FBI made where the gun fires an dart made of ice but contained in the ice is a poison so the ice dart penetrates the skin barely leaving a mark and the bodies heat melts the ice and releases the poison into the blood stream and mimics a heartattack and causes death. So maybe a pokemon inspired by this with a OHKO move that references the FBI 😅

These might refresh once a day, giving plenty of resources and money if you have the time and luck to acquire these.

Twisted Spoon (raises psychic power) could be less rare. Same goes for some of the other type enhancers, like Charcoal.
I included Ring Target, and it may also include Lagging Tail, Iron Ball, Black Sludge, or Toxic Orb, to have items that are usually avoided as held items by most (I certainly did, given that's how I felt about Black Sludge in Wyndon in Sword and Shield), but have great capabilities by the experienced. Normal combined with other types does make a bit of sense even outside the "evolves into normal/something" when it is also tied to Sound. Special moves from the normal type are mostly sound based. This is why Litleo/Pyroar is Fire/Normal, by the way- note that the order of the types actually matter here: Fire is the main type(it is a fire lion), Normal, aka Sound, is what it does. It has a bunch of moves it learns by level up that are based on it roaring- Noble Roar, Echoed Voice and Hyper Voice.
Since they don't seem like they want to add sound as a type(too many other types have sound moves already, maybe), adding normal to mons that use sound makes sense.

Also Zorua and Zoruark aren't really the traditional ghosts persay, they are more inspired by nature spirits/Yokai.
They seem to be specifically based on Yurei, a subset of Yokai which are basically restless vengeful spirits, most often of women or young children, who keep the appearance of their former selfs (seeming normal at first glace until you look closer and realize what you are looking at is not normal at all) but use their powers to enact their warth on the still living.
That's quiet literally 1 to 1 the explanation we got for these pokemon. Them having gone extinct after being chased away by humans from other regions due to fear of their abilities and then being "reincarnated" as vengeful spirits who wander the world and attack every other creature that comes near them.
They are even very clearly moddled after a mother and child, with Zoruark being a lot more feminine in legends and keeping the protective parental instinct to protect Zorua.

I said Scorbunny looked fire electric... it became mono fore. Personally I think it will turn into a Quetzalcoatl, not stay a crocodile, so it'll either be fire flying, fire dragon, or less likely but viable (because it's an Aztec God) maybe fire psychic or fairy.

It'd actually be interesting if the starters became grass/fire, fire/water, and water/grass types, because those types in terms of defense are actually balanced (all of them have 3 types effective against them) and the idea that no starter is more advantageous nor disadvantageous over another might make the battle more interesting when they face each other

I tried creating a steel poison pokemon before. When I saw that one pokemon that was basically an anchor, I felt that the steel poison pokemon could be like a snake like creature that is basically one long rusty chain with maybe like head that looks like a spike and a tail end that looks like a mace, one of those steel balls with spikes. It would be steel and the rust would be the poison aspect. It could possibly evolve into something that looks something like Bisharp but with like rusty hooks for hands. lol

Fun fact I actually made a electric fighting Pokémon a long time ago it’s first evaluation was named zoltoward it was a pure electric type who was a coward and ran away then it’s final evaluation was named brawlbolt it was ashamed of its previous coward ness and now uses it’s speed to confuse the target on where they are then hit them hard taking over territory’s then letting smaller Pokémon live there

I also made a regional variant of cutiefly and ribombee based on fireflies. They are fire fairy type and are much more aggressive.

Since Mega Evolution is no longer in the game, the combination of Dragon/Fairy is effectively unused. If you believe Lockstin and Gnoggin's theory about how the way each type uses it's magic cause the type matchup, then it's another pair of opposite types. I think they could do something really cool with the design, maybe a hybrid between a dragon and a siren.
