Just inherited my Grandfathers Osann fur machine. He had a successful fur shop in Chicago in the 1930’s and made many interesting items for us as children here in Southern California long after retiring, including a fur bicycle seat of all things. It’s not frozen up so after some work on it I’m looking forward seeing what I can do. Thanks for the videos they are very helpful.

Subscribed! I really enjoyed this video, very informative, I'd love to see more fur sewing that you do. Im a trapper and would like to make some personal stuff with my fur since prices are so low, as well as giving some as gifts. Hopefully you do some more videos, I dont have anyone to learn from so trying to pick up everything I can from videos but there arent many available and the ones that are available arent the quality that yours are! I'd like to learn how to do it right and have a nice end product I can be proud of. Thanks! Looking forward to more!

I started sewing with a sewing awl and worked my way up to a bonis A machine and no point in giving fur away on the fur market may as well make something out of it and sell it that way .. thanks for watching

@@BusterCreekOutdoors I just bought a speedy stitcher so cant wait to give it a try and hopefully get the hang of layout and figuring out the construction of the stuff I'd like to make, mainly just mitts and hat, then eventually maybe get a fur machine if I find a decent deal on one, a little pricey from what I have seen, but if I get use out of it I think it would be worth it. I really dont have plans to sell stuff, just make for myself and as gifts for others, but if I had to buy an expensive machine maybe I would try and sell a couple just enough to pay for the machine or help with the cost.

@@BusterCreekOutdoors Oh also did you ever put that trim on the mitts? I struggle with that idea too, how to make seams look decent/hidden. I think its easier maybe with a Bonis because the stitching is tighter, more uniform, but still need to know the right way to put the materials during dewing so they are hidden later.

Would a sewing machine that just does straight stitches work? Or do the edges of the materials need to be wrapped by the stitch?
