    Great job on the relocation.
    For everyone else who watched, you don’t have to route the negative cable all the way to the back which in turn can save time & space to keep the original retainers for the main harness inside the car.
    One ground from the battery to the strut bar. Another ground from the ground cable in engine bay to the body of the car via a grounding block (Amazon for $7-12 pair) . Doing this will look just as solid as well as save time on messing with the engine battery harness (just tidying up & tucking is all that’s required) In the end it’s up to you (the wrencher) to decide. Overall great job man! 💪🏽

      Hey Daniel. Thanks for the props man! More videos come. Yep extending the negative terminal cable to the engine bay is optional. I did it just in case I have some electrical components that needs to see a battery negative instead of a chassis negative. i.e. the IGN1A coilpacks. Less gremlins to worry about with this one extra step.

    Top job mate, Very clean !! I just did this to my 8 and it's worth every penny. The starter and engine jumps to life from this upgrade . I used zero guage cable to the starter direct and then jumped off that to the engine bay. Grounding is the key with RX 8 and added a few more from engine to chassis and two separate points from the battery negative to chassis as well. Love ya work !! Keep them coming , I'm going to start uploading my build soon for this car. Cheers mate from Australia 🤙

      Thank you so much for the positive vibes and feedback. The battery relocation to the back is definitely worth every penny. Cleans up the engine bay real nice and makes room for bigger turbo. Nice! Did you drill a hole in the transmission tunnel? I was thinking of doing it that way. Let me know your channel once you start and I'll follow.

    • @inoahmann7542
      @inoahmann7542 Před rokem +1

      The battery weight isn't really that significant. The main reason to relocate it is for more cooling airflow in the engine bay.

    • @RyuusanFT86
      @RyuusanFT86 Před 11 měsíci

      @@inoahmann7542The weight is definitely significant, especially the balance. You're taking about 30-35lbs from the nose of the car and putting it down into the back...
      Some do this from the sake of battery discharge issues as well, I'm going to be running a shorai and will be doing this soon.

  • @Yuanwang768
    @Yuanwang768 Před 4 lety +3

    Is strictly necessary to wire the negative to the engine bay? I saw a lot of people that simply ground the battery negative to the frame

    • @freemadc2
      @freemadc2  Před 4 lety +3

      Not necessarily needed. I think grounding to the chassis only is fine, but I wanted to get rid of as much gremlins as possible. The reasoning for me was to keep all original grounding point as possible. Negative battery was grounded to the engine and fans. If you will attempt this, just skip the ground extension and ground to the top shock bolt. I did both.
