Ive had the 225 for a couple years now, love the machine. Though with all the aluminum you do, I would recommend a water cooled set up. The funny thing is after a lot of research and wasted money, the best bang for your buck dual voltage water cooler is also made by primeweld.
So I can buy a water cooler and attach it to this welder?
Well done. Keep throwing those welds down, you're doing great.
Thanks!
Just worth mentioning the CK 17 torch is only rated for 150 amps..if you continue to use 200 amps plus you will burn up the torch..Primeweld has a CK20 water cooled torch rated for 250 amps that fits the 225 ACDCP..and primeweld has a really nice water cooler for it too..which is great for Aluminum welding and extends the life expectancy of the welder, torch, consumables etc.
If you are welding over a 150 amps regardless of whether or not you have it in a120 Volt or 240 V plug it will be fine... you need 3/8 inch or higher steel plate to need more than a 200 amps... You can do almost anything you need to do under 150amps.. definitely under 200amps...
Good choice in machine, primeweld is a few minutes from my house and a solid company. If my everlast ever goes down again im buying from them. Great warranty too.
The Fabrication Series here on CZcams works this primeweld tig225x.
That's a really super nice tig Wilder and I work with Miller a lot and lincoln that machine has A lot of settings
0:29... mine were steel.. but those looked like they did the job...🔝
I bought this machine about 1 1/2 years ago and I love it... in the beginning, if you're a new welder you are not going to need all of those settings later when you get better and you want to do really high quality work then the settings will come in to play but for the price of this unit and the quality level of the accessories that you get with it it's a no brainer to get this machine...👍
I know zero about tig but watched a video by Paul Brodie and he mentioned setting the argon for a 3 sec delay and holding the torch at the end of the weld for about 3 seconds once completing the weld to keep the oxygen from rushing in on the part. That might help with those holes 👍🏼
Thanks for the tip. I have since increased my post flow. I also add more filler and do a "swirl" with the torch as I ease off the pedal. No more craters.
Great video, just purchased one , Thanks for your time. +++
Great video
Outstanding!👍👍👍👍
Dang ive been wanting this welder for a while
Me too. I've had my eye on it for 1-2 yrs.
Nice video! How do you like the Vulcan cart? I have a Eastwood 175 as well. Going on 7 years with it.
I like the vulcan cart better then the eastwood cart that the mig 175 sits on. I do wish I had some drawers though.
Good job man!
Thanks!
Grind the mill scale off it will stop shooting sparks.
Yes, wire brush was not enough.
@@HTMR I do like my Prime weld tig 225x and I do own a Miller syncrowave 350 also I like them both for different reasons.
Out of curiosity what setting did you set your helmet to I run mine about a 9- 9 1/2 and when I do my aluminum I ramp it up to 10 or 11 depending on how many amps I'm using.
Going to order this within the week. Any chance you can tell me if it will run off a 15amp breaker on 110v? It would suck to have to hire an electrician to install a breaker
Yes, just don't know how many amps you can run.
Needs to be 30a at 110v.
@@grumpycricket yeah in order to get the full amperage out of the machine I need a beefier circuit. But I can still bring the machine up to 135 amps TIG welding or 85 amp stick welding without popping my breaker which for 95% of what I do is working out okay. I bought a generator last month for when I need to bring the machine all the way up to 180 amps or whatever for thicker material. The machine caps at 150amps when plugged into 110v anyways so I'm close with the 15amp
💪👊
im setting my machine up, and new to tig. The lanthinated electrode has a light blue coating on one end. Whats the purpose of it if its hiding up inside the handle end?
To identify it prior to use
one word of advice my friend: teflon tape.
I just ordered this welder , what does it cost for the tank and gas ? Thanks for the vid.
I paid around 200 for a 140-150cf tank. About 50 to refill.
@@HTMR how long does the gas last? And how much use can I get out of a tank?
@@CluelessEngineer Can't tell you, haven't run out yet.
Tip Next time burp the tank
Wonder if i can get that shipped up to Canada? Or is there a dealer here?
Call them I don't see why not.
they do ship to canada
i got mine shipped to canada but had to pay 130 to the ups people in import charges
Hey gasoline fumes are flammable maybe you should move the gas powered generator out of that area
