That’s a superb recommendation. We should ALLLL have a sauna and some way to cold plunge if we can afford it.
I couldn’t afford a sauna, but I do have a chest freezer that I’ve converted to a cold plunge!

Been following you since the workbench build and loving your content ever since.
I just want to say that I'm the kind of person that puts so much pressure on myself and feels guilty about taking time off when there's a million jobs to do. My advice...Don't ever judge yourself by the things you havent done, because they will always exist. Look at what you *have* achieved. Then look at your 'to-do' list and be humbled by the scope of your ambition. All the best from UK 🇬🇧

On my "embankment" 70 feet down, 50 degree slope, driveway along the top edge, I just finished a "retaining wall." Not high, about four feet, but with a "crib." So forty feet long with two oak logs 14 inch diameter, twenty feet long each, on three concrete pads, Then six feet oak cross members 12 inch diameter, split lengthwise and the round side hollowed like a log cabin. Then dropped a very tall pine, a forty foot section about a foot diameter and laid that over the "log cabin" purches. The six foot logs get barried in the embankment and the crib gets secured with 16 inch pieces of rebar, holes drilled to fit lubricated with waste oil and sharpened to a point on the grinder. Drilled and pounded into the oak log vertically through the pine log, through the split and shaped cross log and into the big long oak log about six inches. Eight of those with 1/2 inch rebar and a heavy duty drill. Then a web "garden fabric" ~ heavy duty and presto. Just backfill and compact. Added a 15 foot level plain to the embankment with grass and a view. So much safer. Also a little gravel along the edge. Sripped the bark off of the pine log and added my secret ingredient ~ waste oil, deisel fuel and rust-oleum primer. Whew. The grass is growing. Just a shovel and wheelbarrow and cheap fill from the landscape people. But there's your excavator, whoo we! From New Hampshire. Best wishes. ✨🌸🙏🌸✨. 🇺🇸

Slow down, set realistic expectations and timelines. Except for your family, don't worry about what others think. Mix it up. Vary your schedule. Take time for yourself but balance your time time with family and solitude. Have fun, be a good Dad and husband. Remember that 90% of the crap we worry about are things we have no control over.

Just a random comment here... another way to get an oil filter off in a pinch is to stab it with a screwdriver or equivalent and twist.. It is usually messy, but works. New ones also don't need to be tightened so darn much! Jesse, you make me tired just watching you work nonstop. Respect.

I'd flatten the rocky areas, even if that's way more difficult. Terraces are nice, but without support they don't last. The trees and shrubs and grasses you removed, if you build there, won't get fully restored, and a building there will put more pressure on the soil. You can build a platform on concrete pillars on rock, to deal with unevenness, and it won't start flowing in a few years.

Former Marine Equipment Operator here, ✋🏻, clearing out the air filter is typically a daily ops check. If you look up your model online you can find the manufacturer’s recommended maintenance schedule. Most machines have hour meters so you can have a better idea of what it needs based on actual use versus assuming daily use. We all have hit stuff, it’ll come with experience. In the meantime, if you’re going to operate alone, you may want to look for proximity sensors, and ensure your machine has ROPS and FOPS, roll over and falling objects protections. Stay safe and have fun!

Hi Jesse, just got caught up on your last videos. Maybe to de stress is it possible, you can make a space and build a small wood shop. I my self have thing evolving my mom is in home care so I have to pay her bills, caregivers, insurance. when I feel over overwhelmed. I like to walk into my wood shop and sketch a project. The smell of saw dust and wood chips relaxes me in the shop and erases my worries away. Using my planes and chisels makes me more grounded. I think this will help you samurai, Respectfully! the big things will come in time but i feel you need to to have a space to do small wood projects like planter boxes for the cabin or a quaker chair for the cabin deck. :)

Its called stewardship of your land. The trees and growth on your piece of land is starting to show some huge changes. Imho for the better. Those dead and dying trees need to be cleared so the new growth can happen. Love your channel. All the negative nellies have no right telling how you should live.
