I must say, Alex has been the person in the Minecraft creator community I look up to the most. Not only because of his technical skill, but because of him as a person. I met Alex in June 2020 while he was working on a mapmaking project called "Paint" if I remember correctly. We then later worked together on "Control in Minecraft" and that really showed me just how much potential he really has. I am really happy that Alex is getting the recognition he deserves! Even while going through his cancer treatments, Alex has continuously donated to my Patreon. We have gone separate ways on our creator journeys now and still keep in touch, but the time we regularly spent together was an absolute joy. Thank you, Alex!

@@quazimanipulation4121 I don't think it's against the EULA, the EULA is more or so after servers who force the Pay to Win (PTW) market in which is unfair. Solo projects like Alex's shouldn't be prohibited and are likely safe.

What a calm and emotional video after the previous one about the Minecraft community. One of the few Minecraft videos that can touch you with its story. I knew this resource pack existed but now I'm definitely going to try it out!❤
Well, great video and congrats to Alex on the bright vibes given the context (really hope things get better) BUT, the pack is not that amazing... I mean, there is another "lego" pack called Brixel, that looks MUCH better in my opinion with actual pbr textures etc (yes Lunar, even with shaders on, brick craft isn't that impressive compared to brixel :/). Also has 10 times the download count on Curseforge.. and it was released sooner lol.
Not to take anything away from Alex's achievement, it's great !! And much better than anything I could ever do. But just saying, besides the very touching story, there is much better looking pack for lego look out there 👀
Interesting! Ill have a look, tho its was mostly the story of Alex and how his project helped his battle rather then the actual bricks. But ill have a look regardless

This was amazing to hear about! I've been thinking about picking up brickcraft. I really don't mind the price, it's not like you lose your version of the pack if you stop subscribing- but I absolutely prefer to support Minecraft's great creators.

honestly, i get powerpoint as a graphic design tool - it has the same functionality as google drawing does and i used that whenever i needed graphics or figures for coursework

Great video! I was honored to get to contribute to Brickcraft with my Lego mob designs in Brickcraft 2.5! (I'm not humorless hank, his were in the pack form the start). As the creator of another Lego resource pack, it is indeed difficult to recreate the Lego models in Minecraft and keep it playable on lower-end computers, so it's impressive what he's been able to do.

@@roaarylion5214 What do you mean? Like create models for the villains in each season? Making minifigures in Minecraft is much harder than regular bricks, so that might not be feasible.

iirc lego are pretty open on what you can do with their branding
If I remember correctly, they can only sue you if you use the word Lego in your art, such as on the studs.
if they could sue for making a brick building based thing, then all of those other companies that make the same type of product as lego would have been sued to the ground. The only way he can get sued in this is if he uses "LEGO" in the branding, or any "MINECRAFT" branding as well.

Making a resource pack for a game that you don't own the rights for, based on a product he doesn't own is kind of scummy. I believe mods should be free and modder's should be allowed to take donations, but charging for mods is what causes these companies to go after mods. I think it is a fair trade you can make mods for our game as long as you make them free.

Wellll technically he's completely in the right doing this, he's taking inspiration from lego to make this, he doesnt use the branding and he doesnt use the name. And according to the eula its fine to charge for these things as long as u dont use the Minecraft name or branding aswell.

Any Mods you create for Minecraft: Java Edition from scratch belong to you (including pre-run Mods and in-memory Mods) and you can do whatever you want with them, as long as you don't sell them for money / try to make money from them and so long as you don’t distribute Modded Versions of the game.
@@hydrogen-8 as he has a free version that essentially feature complete it is legal, as you just pay for extras. A ton of mods do this, speiger from IC2 for example does this too.
It doesnt have any code except small references so its actually fine. Mojang doesn't care unless u try to make it seem like Mojang made it themselves.
