So this is the big project you were working on as a month ago you said you are you on 4 videos and one is a big one though i am also a redstoner although I'm a beginner and i know the unsatisfaction when we put a lot of time and effort on something and at the end it dont really works.

Now this is the type of redstone I like. All the parts clearly visible, loads of symmetry, using a few glowy and pushy blocks to create actual logic, all to make something silly and entertaining. Fair play

I wonder who was the person that decided to use Clockwork Crafter. It says craftymasterman, mattbattwings, and sipover helped with producing the video so it could be any of those 3 or sammy himself. If it was sammy, I gotta say, both the Jelly Castle remix and Clockwork Crafter were great choices.

never knew purplers knew how to cube quickly. I got a 3x3 and a 2x2 and a pyramid. I still keep forgetting the last part to solving them
mostly the pyraminx, at least the bottom layer of it is intuitive
@@lucasezequielarceamarillo3042 Pyraminx is actually the only one I never forgot how to solve. Its about as hard as solving the first layer on a normal rubix cube
So impressive! I have been working on a map display Rubik's cube myself but ran into several design challenges since I am not a high level redstoner or Rubiks player. Thank you for sharing, this is inspirational and I hope to finish my own design one day!

Damn real life rubiks cube is mechanically so simple but if you want to emulate this using the consepts of Minecraft is a real pain. So impressed that you have been able to achieve this

It's so cool learning that a you and a particular content creator have multiple shared interests, like when I learnt that Crafty played Geometry Dash, and how Purplers is a speedcuber.

"The middle slices don't move and you can't rotate the hole cube." Yeah, well, they don't count. Moving the middle slice is not one move, but actually two moves. One for each outer slice in the oposite direction. Aka it's not the outer slices you move in the oposite direction, the turn in the desired direction, which you follow with a turn of the cube to make it LOOK LIKE, als if the middle slice was moved. And you only need to rotate it to look around it. In minecraft you can fly around it. So visually you rotate the entire would with it.
Means no need to rotate the cube, means no need to be able to move the middle slice, means no mising moves.
These two limitations are there for not actual limitations but just featurecreep that would count as "nice to have" at best if one wants to implement them anyway. ... Can't wait to see the featurecreeped finished cube though xD.

@@AlexPearce-mp3td It can only, if rotating the cube is possible. because if rotating is not allowed, but moving the middle slice is, you could move all 3 slides and would have rotated the cube without ever rotating it.
That's why I said moving the middle slice is just moving both outer slices in the oposite direction plus an aditional rotation of the entire cube.
That also means, if you don't count the middle move as 2 moves, you could do two outer moves and claim it to be one move. But since that's not the case, the middle move simply can't count as a (single) move.

Oh man, I'm not a speed cuber, but I do love solving rubik's cubes, have a little collection, so I love this video.
I have a few ideas that I want to try myself, it sounds like you're moving stickers into the correct places, but what if we actually move pieces? Each corner has only 8 possible positions, edge 12 and centers 6, this way you can probably send less data and just decode it in each face to show the correct colors hopefully making it faster, I also have some more ideas but no idea how it'd work, I have to sit to it and try out

Only 5 bits would need to be used to identify which piece it is as theres only 20 movable pieces, then only 2 bits would need to be used per bit chain to identify its rotation. If you have register positions corresponding to each location on the cube, it would be extremely easy to create a program that would swap out registers and change rotation. My recommendation for display would be to set up a system to dispense entities such as boats, minecarts, or armorstands with different trims and colors to represent each of the colors, if not, flying machines could cover a striped pattern instead of a whole one within the gaps.
For the map display you could probably hold a more scaled out map while in the control room to update all the sides at once.
